Police in South Florida are investigating anti-Semitic flyers showing the faces of Disney executives branded with Stars of David that were sent to residents’ homes earlier this week. Residents of Coral Gables and Miami reported on Tuesday that they had discovered plastic bags filled with kernels of corn and pictures of Disney brass on the front lawns of their homes. The flyers included the headshots of six executives with The Walt Disney Co., including CEO Bob Chapek. Each of the executives is identified as Jewish. A blue Star of David is superimposed on the foreheads of the photographed individuals. “Every...

Police are investigating antisemitic fliers that were left at homes in Beverly Hills on Sunday, hours before Hanukkah began. The Beverly Hills Police Department revealed in a statement Sunday afternoon that it is investigating a “hate incident” that occurred overnight after a resident reported finding a flyer with hate speech in their front yard. The flyer, which was in a plastic bag with rice “for weight,” featured “propaganda style hate speech related to the COVID pandemic and the Jewish people,” according to police. It was a single 8.5 inch-by-11 inch piece of paper.

Local officials say fliers with the picture of the Northbrook sign circulated recently to garner support for the controversial Wal-Mart project were not authorized by the village. The material sent to some residents over the last week, sparked questions from some people. "It does create confusion," Steven Elrod, the village's attorney, said at a Oct. 23 plan commission meeting. "Village of Northbrook is not responsible nor … does it endorse this particular piece of literature."

According to tweeting travelers, many backscatter and millimeter-wave AIT scanning machines at airports are not in use at all, making opting out impossible. We've asked DHS/TSA for comment, but you can help us confirm. Not every airport in the country even has the "Advanced Imaging Technology" scanners installed. (A post at FlyerTalk.com has an up-to-date list of airports with the machines, as well as specific terminals.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Just hours after Hillary Clinton adopted a respectful, almost friendly tone with Barack Obama in a Democratic debate, her campaign orchestrated a conference call in which a health-care specialist referred to a Nazi march in denouncing an Obama flyer. Clinton aides convened pro-Clinton health care analysts on Friday to respond to a new Obama flyer that says: "Hillary's health care plan forces everyone to buy insurance, even if you can't afford it." The flyer features a photo of a worried-looking married couple sitting at a kitchen table. Len Nichols of the New American Foundation, which is...

ABC's Christine Byun reports: Republican candidate Fred Thompson’s campaign is accusing rival Mike Huckabee’s campaign of more "dirty tricks" in South Carolina. They say fliers with misleading information about the former Tennessee senator’s abortion record were placed on parked cars at their event venue last night (http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/01/thompson-lets-g.html). The fliers insinuate Thompson voted for funding for abortions through a bill that supported Planned Parenthood. Thompson –- who has received the endorsement of national anti-abortion organization National Right to Life –- did vote for the bill in question, H.R. 3061. However, the bill specifically states that it does not include federal funding...

ROCHESTER - There is a new debate in Monroe County related to Governor Spitzer's plan to give driver's licenses to illegal immigrants. The debate has worked its way into the county legislature races. It has to do with a campaign mailing sent out by the Republican Party. It is not so much what it says but what it shows that has members of the Islamic community upset. The flyer suggests that county legislature democrats want to license potential terrorists and the literature contains images intended to depict terrorists. "Seeing these things are very wrong for me to see it in...

A national conservative group yesterday called on George Washington University to expel students who admitted that they targeted the group in a hoax that covered the campus with hundreds of anti-Muslim posters. "Vicious personal attacks levied on students are intolerable and should not go unpunished," Ron Robinson, president of the Young America"s Foundation, told university President Steven Knapp. In a letter (downloads PDF) obtained by The Washington Times, Mr. Robinson cited a statement by Student Association Executive Vice President Brand Kroeger, who said he "would support expulsion" of students responsible for distributing the "heinous" posters. The foundation was the target...

Montgomery County school officials announced yesterday that they are temporarily banning outside groups such as parent-teacher associations and the Boy Scouts from distributing fliers about activities and events in student backpacks. The decision comes less than a week after a federal appeals court ruled that the school system's policy for flier distribution was unconstitutional because it gave educators unlimited power to approve or reject materials. The case is the outgrowth of a dispute between the school system and Child Evangelism Fellowship of Maryland. The group filed suit in 2001 after the school system denied its request to distribute fliers about...

ALAMEDA - Judy Barker was so determined to become a pilot that she used the tips she earned from waiting tables to pay for flying lessons. The Hayward resident got her private pilot's license in 1976, a year after her husband got his. "With him flying, I wanted to know how to land in case anything happened," she said. The couple often would rent a plane and go flying with their children — and later with their grandchildren — sometimes to vacation spots or to visit family around the country. This morning, Barker will be one of three speakers at...

Hampton, Va. -- Several students who handed out fliers at a private university criticizing the Iraq war and the federal response to Hurricane Katrina were ordered to perform community service after appearing Friday before a campus disciplinary panel. No one was expelled from Hampton University, but seven students were charged with a minor procedural violation for posting unauthorized handbills and failing to register a protest with the school, the university said in a statement Friday. The FBI wants to know who is responsible for threatening fliers found in several Ada County neighborhoods and business districts. The message is causing concern in Boise's Muslim community. The fliers found in west Boise and Meridian earlier this month claim to be written by a Muslim angry with Americans -- but members of Boise's Muslim community say the message is poorly written -- and not believable.

Local Joint Terrorist Task Force investigators are keeping close tabs on a group of anarchists hellbent on creating a classless society - using armed resistance if necessary, the Herald has learned. Anarchist Black Cross Federation, an organization that FBI Director Robert S. Mueller calls an ``emerging revolutionary group,'' has active members in Boston who have distributed fliers against the war in Iraq, including one that reads: ``Synchronized bombing is a lie. But we can be more precise.'' The flier, released by Anarchist Black Cross Boston, goes on to list the address of Boston Police Headquarters in Roxbury, FBI headquarters in...
