ABC's Christine Byun reports: Republican candidate Fred Thompsons campaign is accusing rival Mike Huckabees campaign of more "dirty tricks" in South Carolina.
They say fliers with misleading information about the former Tennessee senators abortion record were placed on parked cars at their event venue last night (http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/01/thompson-lets-g.html). The fliers insinuate Thompson voted for funding for abortions through a bill that supported Planned Parenthood. Thompson - who has received the endorsement of national anti-abortion organization National Right to Life - did vote for the bill in question, H.R. 3061. However, the bill specifically states that it does not include federal funding for abortions and does not mention Planned Parenthood. The flier quotes Scripture - Proverbs 31:8 - and includes a picture of the former Senator.
"Sen. Thompson worked in the Senate to ensure that federal funds did not go to abortion," a Thompson campaign spokesman, who provided a copy of a flier, said.
Earlier this week, the Thompson campaign accused Huckabee supporters of push-polling calls.
These deceptive tactics are yet another sad sign that Gov. Huckabee cannot engage in a substantive discussion of the important public policy issues facing our country, Dean Rice, the South Carolina campaign manager, said in a written statement.

Iwonder if Huck is using the christian mantra of WWJD (What would Jesus do). These kinds of dirty tricks and outright lies should answer your question to that one. I wonder how he rationalizes that when he spends time with God with a guilty conscience.

I am sure this is the work of another group that "huckabee 'condemns' but has no control over" **rolls eyes**
Everytime I think huckster can't get any crepier or slimier something like this happens.

Fred's supporters in Michigan helped deliver a victory to Romney over McCain. Now Mitt's supporters in South Carolina need to do the same for Fred. Stopping McCain and knocking Huckabee out of the race is a common goal we all share, and only Fred can do that today in South Carolina.
Conservatives unite behind Fred and Mitt.
Fred in South Carolina, Mitt in Nevada!
United we stand, divided we fall.

These sorts of low, dirty tricks are beginning to make me wonder if the Huckster's minions had anything to do with the Politico rumors that Fred was going to drop out after Iowa.

It was reported on Fox News that HUCKABEE supporters found flyers on their car windows that bashed ALL Republican candidates except Ron Paul.
I bet these are the same flyers, but Fred’s campaign is spinning it.
