Philip E. Meeks, who says he has lived near Sullivan’s home for years, questions the independent candidate’s motives and urges him to return to town and answer reporters’ questions. Democrats allegedly recruited Sullivan to run in order to siphon votes away from Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan. (Credit: Rashid Umar Abbasi for Fox News Digital)

He puts to bed the lie that Decoy Dan is a moderate who was just tired of the sameold-same-old in the Senate as has been claimed eslewhere and makes a few other damning points...
How did this guy get on the ticket? How many signatures needed to get on a ballot in Alaska?
Ping
The headline should read “Stupid as it gets”
If the voters can’t figure out the correct name, they probably shouldn’t be voting.
#greatDeception #greaterDeceptionThanNormal #speciousEra
None. Alaska requires $100 to put yourself on the ballot, along with some affirmations, and ranked choice voting.
It’s what Murkowski and the Democrats agreed to to guarantee they could decide who wins every election.
RCV is back on the ballot again this election. Let’s hope Alaskan’s have finally seen what they need to see to shut this down going forward.
You act like the number of people in Alaska who don’t have the ready access to media and the internet you and I do is zero or trivial. Sure, life is basically modern in the cities - Petersburg is large enough - but a lot of people in Alaska live in significantly more rural areas and may have heard little of this.
You might want to further argue that a low information vacuum that makes them unqualified to vote (I said *may* - not putting words in your mouth) - but I’m certainly not ready to go there.
How many people all over the lower 48 voted for Biden in 2020 and then later said they had never heard about Hunter’s laptop? Low information voter is a problem everywhere. What’s your test going to be to see if you have what it takes to exercise your vote? Obtaining a valid picture ID is good for me. But I can’t imagine many more barriers.

No- hold the dems to the same standard they impose on others. If voters are too stupid to get an ID, how can they figure out which Stevens is which?
Imagine the leftist screeching if there were two Peltolas on the ballot....
Speaking of RCV and this dirty crap...
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/11/01/us/alaska-ranked-choice-voting-peltola.html
So, let’s be clear - a Republican pulled this stunt in Florida and went to jail. That’s the standard I expect Democrats to be held to.
Additionally, a DJ *NOT* affiliated with the Republican party pulled this stunt in Washington State and the liberals lost their cookies. He wasn’t affiliated with the party and it wasn’t for personal benefit, so there really wasn’t anything the DJ could be held accountable for. But the Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) screamed bloody murder.
But in this case, the NYT has the text messages shared by DSCC and Peltola campaign operatives about this, and a DSCC staffer specifically coached Decoy Dan on running. That staffer even used a fake name, but while he was still talking to reporters before he realized he was actually in more than a little bit of trouble, the reporter showed Decoy Dan a picture of the suspected operative (who gave Dan a fake name) and Dan said, “yeah, that’s the guy I talked to.” Oh, yeah, there’s plenty for the DoJ and Alaska prosecutors to chew on here...
Wonder how much they paid him?
I do t think they had to pay him at all. I think he’s just a performative lib ahole.
Yes exactly, I agree 100%- they should all be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
The public deserves to know what exactly the dims paid this guy...
Thanks for the ping.
Petersburg has been invaded by reporters, wannabe influencers and YouTubers looking for that gotcha viral moment. All of them generally being a nuisance. I’ve heard that some are pestering business owners and even going to the extent of knocking on doors for reactions from residents.
But Dan ain’t here.
People who claim to know say he’s in Oregon hiding out.
As I have mentioned on other threads, I met the guy once a few years ago back when he was still the music teacher. We had a five minute conversation about about music. He seemed a nice enough guy but we have not spoken since. It’s a small town but he and I simply are not in the same social circle. I do now know Dan Sullivan well enough to have an opinion on the man.
Having said that, my fact free opinion is: I think that what he did was dumb, naive and TDS motivated. He’ll probably be left to twist in the wind by the Democrats and blame it all on Trump.
Specifics, please?
Independent Dan, better flee for safety and ask DOJ for witness protection. Otherwise, the Clinton cleaners squad will make sure that he doesn’t talk, thus implicating high-democratic officials and candidates.
Daniel J. Sullivan didn’t run as an indie...he’s running as a Republican. He changed from democrat to GOP right before they registered him to run.
A review of dirty Dan’s financials might be in order. How many democrat dollars did he collect?
Not the original poster but a Republican operative ran a person with the same last name (not identical first name) and paid them to run against an incumbent D with that name in a state legislator race (State not Federal). He paid him like 40k and got a 6 month jail sentence or the like.
