Lead by American University College Republicans, 40 students from American University and Maryland sallied forth to French Embassy on Reservoir Road to decry France’s strategy of hoping the Saddam will go away. As with all conservatives, they had obtained a permit, they were well behaved and had checked in with the Secret Service. They had great enthusiasm and were spirited in their chants as only the young can be. They sang our National Anthem and recited the pledge of allegiance. People leaving the embassy were greeted with shouts of shame and honor your commitment, peace through strength. TV crews were...

It was a coast to coast effort on Clear Channel Talk Radio last night. Freepers SeenTheLight - San Francisco, Kristinn - Washington D.C. and Comwatch - Sacramento, took to the airways with talk show host Mark Williams for an hour long segment after Mark's popular "War Room". The boards at the station lit up and one caller from the opposition camp gave us all a practical lesson on just who these protesters are and how they react to the truth. They are losing the heart and minds of America with each demonstration. A dedicated group of of your fellow Freepers...

The time has come to stand up for America by doing what the Left does as second nature. It makes sure it is both SEEN and HEARD on a regular basis. The Right MUST respond with grassroot rallies with bigger turnouts than those of late. Take the time--get involved in local actvist rallies! The pendulum is starting to sway more to the right since Powell's speech to the U.N. Now is the time to rally round the flag. The flag is a uniting element and never "oppressive or devisive" as some in academia (U.C. Berkeley) have portrayed it. Forcefully challenge...

The DC Chapter arrived at CPAC on Thursday, prepared to share a small corner of the National Retail Sales Tax booth, that was donated to Taxman by the Club For Growth. The Weekly Standard booth across from Taxman's was empty, so after lunch Taxman contacted someone at The Weekly Standard. They indicated that they were not going to be using the booth, so Taxman asked them if another group could use it in their place. He was told that it was OK with them, and Taxman handled all the paperwork. Thus, the DC Chapter had a full-size booth that we...

As Libertina mentioned in the main CPAC Live thread, Ann Coulter stopped by the Free Republic booth at CPAC and graciously offered a block of 12 tickets to tonight's filming of CNN Crossfire with Paul Begala and Tucker Carlson, with guests Jerry Springer and Ann Coulter. We eagerly took up this offer, and off we trouped to be in the filming audience, cheering on Tucker and Ann. How kind of Ann to spare the tickets! We certainly didn't spare our enthusiasm for her points in return. There were several audience close-ups featuring Freepers. Basil had a lovely colloquy with Begala...

WASHINGTON -- The air thundered with calls for peace Saturday as throngs of protesters surged onto the National Mall and spilled into the streets in what was the largest anti-war rally in the capital since the Vietnam War. Despite the below- freezing temperatures, the substantial crowd -- estimated at more than 200,000 -- crunched toward a lone stage erected in the shadow of the U.S. Capitol building. The demonstrators were drawn by national civil rights figures who charged them to fight social inequity and the injustice of the impending war against Iraq. "Are we talking about weapons of mass destruction...

THIS IS NOT AN ARTICLE, IT IS A CALL TO ACTION. I'm currently trying to assemble a Pro-War rally on Washington, and need support. You constantly see Anti-War rally's all over the news, and it's about time some of US took a stand. There's a lot to say and all of it needs to be heard. I guarantee media coverage of the rally, but I need a LARGE group in order to receive it. Post if you're interested

WASHINGTON -- The path from the National Mall to the Naval Yard was filled with a marching infantry -- 200,000 strong -- armed with banners, puppets, drums, newspapers and an array of clever pro-peace and anti-Bush chants. Since the Pentagon's top-secret plans to formulate a war on Iraq leaked to the press last year, there have been massive demonstrations across Europe, student peace groups emerging and an overwhelming doubt surrounding the idea of war. A former U.N. weapons inspector became an icon for the anti-war movement and questioning Republicans have taken out newspaper ads urging the president to use proper...

(This is written without notes and is intended as an overview. It does not include the stories of all those who stood with us. Those who were there, please add your stories.) The Patriots Rally for America III in support of our troops fighting the war on terrorism was held at Constitution Gardens near the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall early on Saturday morning, January 18, 2003. From the podium just before the rally ended, an announcement was made about our plans for the afternoon observance of the IAC/ANSWER-sponsored anti-war protest march through the streets of D.C., past the Marine Barracks...

Dem Racists Named, FreeRepublic Named In Column. Ex-Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott went overboard praising Strom Thurmond at his 100th birthday party and appeared to wish for the good old days of segregation. He later denied that was what he meant but the damage was done and the Democrats leaped to take advantage. Even so, my advice to the Not-So-Grand Party was, "Be careful what you wish for." Lott has been -- in the opinion of many of his conservative colleagues -- overly accommodating with the Democrats." Talk about gazing into a crystal ball. The Democrats now have to deal...

"I will not stand idly by and allow the building of a fantasy office for 'a minister of hate' such as Robert Byrd," said Kevin Martin, political affairs director of the African-American Republican Leadership Council. "I am willing to chain myself to the construction site, run the risk of arrest and know...

RULES FOR PROTESTING: Some more detailed rules and suggestions appear later in this list, but here are the basics: No violence, no threats, no profanity, no racism, no law-breaking. Law enforcement officers must be treated with respect. Stay out of the street at all times, except when using a crosswalk with the traffic light. Do not block the sidewalk to pedestrian traffic. Keep your signs from hanging over into the street. Do not block the signs of, nor get within 10 feet of, our opponents. Do not interfere with any media coverage of them. Our First Amendment rights are...

Kristinn came up with the idea to stage a freep at the White House and stand as Human Shields to protect the White House against the anti-war demonstrators organized and backed by IAC/ANSWER (a front group for the World Workers Party – communists). We had intelligence that small groups would be marching from the Justice Department around the White House and that some of the protesters planned to demand the inspection of the White House for weapons of mass destruction. There were also reports that 50 or so protesters had volunteered to participate in civil disobedience and break the law...
