The lady from Dubuque who rode 23 hours on a bus to get to the antiwar demonstration in Washington, D. C. Saturday may have been a little dazed by it all. She had come to protest the government's likely prosecution of a war in which her sons and those of her neighbors might be hurt or killed along with those of another people virtually unrepresented in Dubuque. But she was met by something else hardly native to Iowa. In addition to the known speakers, Jesse Jackson, Sharpton, the actress Jessica Lange, Congressman Conyers, the speaker's stage was occupied for a...

Somebody said that CNN cropped out the policeman restraining the foaming at the mouth "peace protester" engaged in an arguement with an anti-ANSWER/anti-commie patriot. Anyone have the CNN URL for that?

This was due to press releases, faxes and phone calls informing the media of our counterprotests of the bussed-in anti-american leftist scum which polluted the nations capital yesterday and today. Below is a listing so far of where FreeRepublic was IN THE NEWS:ARTICLES: ABCNews.com (Jan 19, '03)Washington Post (Jan 19, '03)Washington Times (Jan 19, '03)New York Times (Jan 19, '03)Kansas City Star (Jan 19, '03)Orange County Register (Jan 19, '03) Charlotte Observer, NC...

Registered (and signed in) users of Yahoo can "vote" approval (5) or disapproval (1) of the newswire photos. The libs have tried to knock down the ratings of the liberty and patriot photos while rallying up the numbers on the antiBush/anticapitalist protesters photos. Since many of these photos only have 30 votes, it won't take much of a response to generate some great numbers. It's easy to get to the Yahoo photos. Just go to this link:News photos of counter-protesters Jan 18th (the good guys) And click on the photos in the thread (right clicking will permit you to open...

C-SPAN has informed me that they will NOT be covering The Patriots Rally for America being held tomorrow in Washington, D.C. by the patriotic Vietnam Veterans group, MOVE-OUT!, and the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic.C-SPAN will be broadcasting live tomorrow the "anti-war" rally in D.C. put on by the communist front group IAC-ANSWER.No reason was given for the disparity in coverage, but you might be able to get one from C-SPAN--or even get them to change their mind to cover the Patriots Rally. The main phone number for C-SPAN is 202 737-3220.

As those of you watching Foxnews national know, the "peace" protestors continue to protest here in Washington. They're on a march from the Justice Department to the White House, and one of the things they say they want to do is inspect President Bush's "presidential palace" for weapons. Saddam uses humans as shields in times of war. But of course these "peace" protestors wouldn't harm innocent civilians. So some memberes of the DC Chapter of Free Republic are forming a "human shield."

<p>Counterdemonstrators were few compared with anti-war protesters yesterday, but they made their sentiments known at the U.S. Marine barracks.</p>
<p>By midafternoon, anti-war protesters were about two-thirds of the way through their march from the National Mall to the Navy Yard in Southeast when they met 80 counterdemonstrators outside the barracks at Eighth and I streets SE. The counterdemonstrators waved American flags and signs, some of which read "If you must burn our flag, wrap yourself in it first" and "What Would You Have Done on Flight 93? Free Iraq Now."</p>

SNIPThe counter-demonstration that drew fewer than 50 people began with a morning rally near the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and regrouped along the route used by the antiwar contingent. It was organized by Free Republic, which was formed to protest President Bill Clinton's actions, and another group called MOVE OUT, an acronym for Marines and Other Veterans Against Outrageous Un-American Traitors. Many predicted dire consequences for the United States if Saddam Hussein is not ousted from power. Joel Kernodle, a retired Marine from Indianapolis who organized MOVE OUT, conjured up images of the Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol in rubble. "If...

ASHINGTON, Jan. 18 — In a show of dissent that organizers said "shattered the false myth of consensus," for a war with Iraq, tens of thousands of protesters representing a diverse coalition for peace converged here today for a rally and march against the Bush administration's threatened use of military force against Saddam Hussein's regime.Energized by the British band Chumbawamba, which opened the Washington demonstration with a performance of a new antiwar song, a swelling crowd, packed densely to stave off the winter winds, filled several blocks west of the Capitol carrying signs, waving banners and chanting, "No war...

<p>Washington -- Hoping that their sheer numbers would send a message so loud that President Bush could not ignore it, tens of thousands of demonstrators rallied in the nation's capital Saturday to oppose any war against Iraq.</p>
<p>The crowd, bundled up and huddled tight against bone-chilling cold, filled several blocks of Washington D.C. in what many called the largest demonstration yet against using force to topple Saddam Hussein.</p>

The NBC local affiliate reporterette out looking for background color from supposed anti-war protestors coming to DC today found, LO & BEHOLD, "FREEPERS"!!!At approximately 9 AM today, just after the top of the hour weather report, brave FREEPERS on the MALL were interviewed. They reported that the people coming today weren't really anti-war protestors but instead represented any number of terrorist organizations including organizations whose members have murdered Americans. The truth came out and the reporterette (clearly of a Democrat orientation) found herself without any follow-up questions. The woman was totally flabbergasted to hear what was really happening.

"Questioning the Integrity of the Anti-War Group" Posted by Kevin WillmannSaturday, January 18, 2003 In an interview last November published by the Egyptian weekly Al Usbou, Iraqi Dictator Saddam Hussein told writer Sayyid Nassar, ''No doubt, time is working for us. We have to buy some more time, and the American-British coalition will disintegrate because of internal reasons and because of the pressure of public opinion in the American and British street.'' This Saturday in San Francisco and Washington D.C., Saddam will ''get by with a little help from his friends'' in the anti-war movement. The sights and smells...

LisaFab checking in from frigid but still FREE Washington, DC.Sitting in our nice warm hotel room after a cold yet inspiring day of standing up for freedom and against the equally ignorant and arrogant America-haters we encountered all over DC today. The weekend started out well with a planning dinner last night with about 40 intrepid FReepers and supporters at the Orleans House restaurant. I'm sure others will fill in the details as this is just a quick update so that we can go out for a few adult beverages before Amtraking back to CT tomorrow morning - we will however...

D.C. Peaceniks: Bush More 'Evil' Than Saddam Anti-war protesters rallying in Washington, D.C. Saturday say President Bush is more 'evil' than Axis of Evil kingpin Saddam Hussein, the man who's likely to become the target of imminent U.S. military action in coming weeks. Though the crowd made their extreme anti-Bush and anti-American feelings amply apparent as they gathered on the Capitol Mall early Saturday morning, most of the uglier sentiments were being filtered out by reporters and news editors intent on giving a sanitized version of the event. But WABC Radio's Curtis Sliwa, in a live report from the scene...
