Another week, another relatively young and otherwise healthy celebrity dies suddenly from a cardiac event and practically nobody in media wonders if the Covid jabs were to blame. It has been happening so often that few even blink an eye anymore. A well-known person, often a B-list actor or former professional athlete, dies from a previously unknown heart condition. Corporate media announces the news, gets some quotes from famous friends, and moves on. Nobody mentions vaccine status. Nobody asks if the Covid-19 jabs, which are known to cause heart conditions that can lead to death, were a factor. The latest...

Days Of Our Lives, which streams on NBCUniversal’s Peacock platform, is going on an unplanned hiatus. A rep for Peacock confirmed to Deadline that production on the long-running daytime drama has been suspended. For the moment, it’s for one week, I hear. DoOL, which is dark this week, was slated to resume filming July 31. It will not remain dark until at least Aug.7. The decision comes in the wake of Deadline’s report earlier this week about the misconduct investigation against longtime co-executive producer/director Albert Alarr and its aftermath. As Deadline reported, about 30-40 people — primarily women — were...

Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Soap opera Days of Our Lives is leaving NBC after 57 years and moving to streaming service, Peacock, starting Sept. 12. All new episodes of the drama will premiere daily on Peacock, which is already the home for the show's past episodes, as well as the spinoff series, Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem. A new, hour-long program called NBC News Daily is scheduled to take over Days' time slot on NBC. It will be anchored by Kate Snow, Aaron Gilchrist, Vicky Nguyen and Morgan Radford.

Days of Our Lives actress Melissa Reeves is catching heat from her co-stars and the long-running soap’s fans for coming out against the Black Lives Matter movement. Earlier this week it was revealed that Reeves — who has played Jennifer Horton on the NBC sudser on and off for the past three decades — “liked” several anti-BLM posts from right-wing activist Candace Owens on Instagram. Reeves’ Days cousin, Linsey Godfrey, wasted little time responding. After one Twitter user defended Reeves’ right to express her opinion, Godfrey countered, “Nah there is no difference of opinion on racism, homophobia, transphobia and xenophobia.”...

The long-running daytime soap's future is in flux, though it will continue airing for the remainder of the current season. The future of NBC's daytime soap Days of Our Lives is in doubt after the entire cast was released from their contracts. The 55-year-old drama — the longest-running entertainment show in NBC's history — will go on an indefinite hiatus at the end of November, although enough episodes have been banked to play out the rest of the 2019-20 season. NBC and Sony Pictures TV, which distributes the show, declined comment. Calls to producer Corday Productions were not returned. Corday,...

A new concept for a flow battery functions like an old hourglass or egg timer, with particles (in this case carried as a slurry) flowing through a narrow opening from one tank to another. The flow can then be reversed by turning the device over. Credit: Image courtesy of the researchers ================================================================================================================== A new approach to the design of a liquid battery, using a passive, gravity-fed arrangement similar to an old-fashioned hourglass, could offer great advantages due to the system's low cost and the simplicity of its design and operation, says a team of MIT researchers who have made a...

I have to say I am greatly impressed by at least one part of a paragraph in Dr. Michael Horton’s new book The Gospel Commission: Recovering God’s Strategy for Making Disciples. He begins his chapters with the important recognition that Jesus’ great commission to the disciples (Matt. 28:18–20) begins with an equally great announcement—an announcement we here at American Vision have emphasized many times: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me” (28:18). ... As initially enthused, however, it was with equally deep disappointment that I read on as Dr. Horton spent the rest of his...

Frances Reid, one of daytime television’s most enduring performers, who played the family matriarch Alice Horton on the soap opera “Days of Our Lives” for more than 40 years, died Wednesday in Beverly Hills, Calif. She was 95. Ms. Reid, who had a long history in the theater and on television behind her, took the role in “Days” somewhat reluctantly, she said in interviews, but agreed to it because roles of any kind for actresses in middle age were rare. She began with the show’s first episode in 1965 and stayed long enough in the role for Alice to become...

DURHAM, N.C. -- A Duke lacrosse player whose DNA may match tissue found under the fake fingernails of an exotic dancer who claims she was raped was identified in a photo lineup with 90 percent certainty, sources tell NBC-17. The Durham Herald-Sun reported Thursday tissue found under the accuser's acrylic fingernail came from the same genetic pool and was "consistent" with the bodily makeup of one of 46 lacrosse players who gave DNA samples for testing. The paper cites several sources and said scientists also ruled out a possible match with any of the other 45 students, according to the...
