Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Soap opera Days of Our Lives is leaving NBC after 57 years and moving to streaming service, Peacock, starting Sept. 12.

All new episodes of the drama will premiere daily on Peacock, which is already the home for the show's past episodes, as well as the spinoff series, Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem.

A new, hour-long program called NBC News Daily is scheduled to take over Days' time slot on NBC. It will be anchored by Kate Snow, Aaron Gilchrist, Vicky Nguyen and Morgan Radford.

I know its a stupid soap opera, but it seems like Amazon, the streaming services, are calling the shots.

I wish there was a classic soap opera channel where they showed episodes of old soaps.

I never watched the show, but I always stopped as a little kid to see the hour glass. I found it to be a bit mesmerizing. An iconic show opening if ever there was one.

I wonder how much faggotry they have on soap operas now?

There used to be SoapNet, but that went off the air in 2013.

Do you suppose the faggotry will increase, decrease, now that they’ll be streaming.

Sickening that a daytime show would even incorporate that.

I remember when certain topics/discussions, even ads, were NOT allowed on daytime tv.

2 lesbians “married” on Y&R (both actresses are straight).

None on B&B (got rid of the Black tranny).

Male-to-female tranny doctor on GH. One other gay guy, Asian, but they don’t play up his sex stuff as they once did.

Days, I haven’t watched since 2016. I remember they had Marlena’s grandson turned into a fag and John Black’s illegitimate Asian son.

Fact is, except for myself, most soap viewers are females. They just don’t want to see that stuff. They want hot, straight males to take their shirts off. I prefer the straight females.

“Like the sands sifting through the Hourglass,
these are the Days of our lives!”

**That theme song was written and performed by Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart. These two had several hit songs “I Wonder What She’s Doin’ Tonight” being just one of them.
The duo went on to write several songs for The Monkeys.

This seems really off, as it would seem the primary audience would probably not be people who use streaming services.

And taking it off the air for yet another news show?

Oh, so that may be why - they’ve already run off the previous core audience so they are just going to send it for its smaller niche audience on a streaming service.

Still ridiculous they are going to put on yet another hour news program in its place. A game show would fit the audience and time slot better, I would think.

Many years ago I would occasionally see episodes of this show as a little kid as my grandmother would watch. Probably 15-20 years later living on my own I remember I was flipping through channels one day and it was on. The same thing was happening - Stefano (sp?) was after Marlena - as the last time I had seen the show...LOL

If there’s anything that the old ladies who watch soaps are keen on, it’s changing formats and adopting new technology.

Chanel & Allie being lipstick lesbians is interesting. Poor Chanel has been dumped by so many times by men and women.

I don't care what you all think, but Leo is a hoot, and he knows that Gwen killed Abigail.

Anyway B&B has become syrapy and sappy.

Shrila is on her way to Genoa City(Y&R)

They also want beautiful, glamorous females that they can picture themselves being. Women are not the inverse of men in that way.

The ratings have been dwindling for soaps, well, almost everything on the networks. Days is the lowest-rated of the 4 remaining network soaps. Better they shift it to streaming than outright cancel it. This is probably a prelude to its cancelation, anyhow.

Those shows they replace the soaps with get much lower ratings, as evidenced when ABC axed two of three remaining soaps about a decade ago. They ended up canceling a cooking show that replaced one soap, moved GH up an hour and extended their execrable GMA into the afternoon.

Might as well start showing those Turkish soap operas like they do on the Spanish channel. Gotta admit the women on them are hot.

You must be recounting a Days storyline ? I’m 5+ years out of date.

I’m amazed they had enough money to send the 4 actors to Monaco (!) to film scenes there on B&B. They’re not rolling in the dough to subsidize soaps as they once lavishly did in the ‘80s. They’re not far away from just having 2 or more actors on a bare stage, that’s how bad it is money-wise.

The Steffy-Finn storyline was so banal. He was a boring character to begin with. I think it would’ve been better had Steffy been fantasizing it and he was still dead. It’s time to bring back Ric Forrester, he’s been gone too long. He really wanted Steffy, anyhow. Fixing him up with the Black tranny was egregiously absurd and out-of-character. Have him come back and wreck Steffy’s marriage.
