President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice (DOJ) terminated a top pardon attorney who claims it was over a gun rights dispute, but she oversaw President Joe Biden’s commutations of violent criminals and pushed for left-wing criminal justice initiatives. Elizabeth G. Oyer claims she was fired after she opposed restoring the gun rights of prominent Trump supporter and actor Mel Gibson, she originally told The New York Times. Oyer proceeded to blast the Trump administration in a Rolling Stone opinion piece, asserting she was fired for her decision and accused Trump’s DOJ of “bullying.” Gibson was convicted of a misdemeanor charge...

Julian Assange's 14-year saga as a fugitive and prisoner may be coming to an end. The Wikileaks founder has agreed to plead guilty to a felony charge with the U.S. Justice Department in exchange for no additional prison time. He has already served 5 years in a maximum security prison in England after spending 7 years hiding in an Ecuadorian Embassy. Assange would only agree to a hearing outside of U.S. soil. Last month he won his right to appeal an extradition order. High Court judges Victoria Sharp and Jeremy Johnson ruled for Assange after his lawyers argued that the...

A rundown of the gruesome murders committed by the death-row inmates getting commutations by President Joe Biden. Two days before Christmas, in the waning days of his presidency, Joe Biden commuted the death sentences of 37 out of 40 federal prisoners to a life sentence. Only by hearing what they had done can we begin to grapple with their offense. Many of them were responsible for gruesome murders of multiple persons:Jorge Avila-Torrez “sexually assaulted and stabbed to death two girls — Laura Hobbs, 8, and Krystal Tobias, 9 — who had been riding their bicycles in their neighborhood in a suburb...

Joe Biden’s presidency has been a four-year-long dumpster fire. While he seems intent on conducting a rewrite of his legacy, his post-election decisions have been rife with controversy, igniting criticism across the political spectrum. Since the election, he went back on his word to pardon his son Hunter Biden, and he followed that up with a record-breaking clemency spree, which included child rapists and murderers. At the time I expressed concern that those actions were just the beginning, and it turns out I was right. Early on Friday morning, Biden issued thousands more commutations."Today, I am commuting the sentences of nearly...

Some conservatives have begun speculating the unrest in American cities—even as late as Monday night in Washington, DC, as “protestors” unsuccessfully worked to tear down a statue of Andrew Jackson and set up an autonomous zone across the street from the White House—may in part be an attempt to affect the upcoming presidential election, with the chaos and violence intended to make it as difficult as possible for Donald Trump to win a second term. Lending credence to this idea is the fact that at least one board member of Thousand Currents—the group fiscally sponsoring the most organized part of...

This is an urgent plea for help from Prairie Lady; these are her posts: [copied] I JUST got off the phone with my neice. It seems my sister (her mother) is missing since yesterday between 3pm and 4:40pm yesterday from the SouthCarolina area. She headed north as far as we can track, but then nothing. This is TOTALLY uncharacteristic of her. We need to know if she is on her own willingly making decisions, or if she has been abducted and is in need of help. Is there anybody from that area that can help? ---------------------- ok, she spoke to...

Update: For those who remember, there is news regarding Fulks and Basham. They murdered my sister Alice Donovan from South Carolina,, a girl from West Virginia named Samantha, attempted to kill a policè officer, attempted to carjack a teenager, stole guns, checkbooks, credit cards and much more. We just got news that the ⅖ DOJ wants to commute the death penalty sentences of Fulks and Basham. This goes against the Jury AND the US Supreme Court as well as the Fourth Circuit Appeals Court, not to mention that those who died don't receive a commutation of their sentences of death,...

Outgoing Sen. Joe Manchin (I-WV) wrote a scathing tweet about President Joe Biden after he granted clemency to 37 prisoners on federal death row who received life sentences without the potential for parole. He called it “horribly misguided and insulting,” especially regarding the two men convicted of murdering a student at Marshall University. The Democrat-turned-Independent said he felt a moral obligation to speak out against the outgoing president on behalf of the parents of Samantha Burns, a 19-year-old girl who was killed in November 2002. However, her remains were never found. Manchin said her family wrote letters to Biden pleading...

As RedState previously reported, President Joe Biden decided to drop an unwelcome Christmas surprise on the families of murder victims whose killers were on federal death row by commuting the sentences of 37 of the 40 inmates to life in prison without the possibility of parole."... guided by my conscience and my experience as a public defender, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Vice President, and now President, I am more convinced than ever that we must stop the use of the death penalty at the federal level," Biden's said in a statement posted to the White House website Monday.In...

Today's episode of CNN This Morning began its segment on Biden's commutation of the death sentences of 37 federal death row convicts with a clip of then-Senator Biden, in 1994, proclaiming "I'm a death penalty supporter," and bragging "I'm the guy who wrote this bill with my own little hands," a bill that added 50 federal death penalty-eligible crimes. I encourage people to watch Biden's display. Even death penalty supporters could cringe at his unseemly hubris. Fast-forward 30 years, and now Biden defenders are explaining his decision yesterday to commute the death sentences of 37 convicts on federal death row...

Many find it shocking the Department of Justice (DOJ) could be capable of ginning up false allegations against a former president in a previous election and would again do the same prior to the 2024 election. This shock, however, is a mark of just how drastically conservatives have failed to recognize the long decline of the DOJ and its ultimate transformation into a political subsidiary of a radicalized Democratic Party. Conservatives would do well to observe seminal moments that have led the country’s top law enforcement entity to its present dire state. In that review, all roads ultimately lead back...

Criminal justice reform advocate Alice Marie Johnson, who was released from federal prison in June 2018 after her life sentence was commuted by President Trump, spoke out Monday against calls to defund the police, telling "Hannity" that officers don't deserve to be labeled negatively "the same way I didn't want a label put on me as a bad person." "I have had family members who are police officers," Johnson told host Sean Hannity, "and I know that they don't want that label put on them the same way I didn't want a label put on me as a bad person....

Disgraced former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich rang in the new year by penning an editorial for a conservative website arguing that current House Democrats who have impeached President Donald Trump also would have tried to impeach Abraham Lincoln. While the piece, titled “Blagojevich: House Democrats Would Have Impeached Lincoln,” does not mention Trump by name, it’s an apparent continuation of his public campaign to win clemency from the Republican president. The Democratic former governor wrote the opinion piece from behind bars in Colorado, where he’s serving a 14-year sentence for public corruption stemming from his attempt to trade Barack Obama’s...

That represents nearly 80 percent of the commutations the president has given since August. Commutations are a form of clemency, which reduces the sentences of federal prisoners. President Obama has given more commutations then the past 11 presidents combined, and The New York Times reports he plans to give more before his final day in office. Many of these cocaine dealers who have received clemency from Obama were not low-level criminals. Darryl Reed was sentenced to 35 years in 1990 and will now be released from federal prison on Dec. 28, 2016. Reed used to be known as the “crack...

A Syracuse crack cocaine dealer granted clemency by President Barack Obama for his role in a large '90s drug ring is facing jail over missed drug tests. Dewayne Comer, 47, will appear in federal court Friday to ask a judge not to send him back to prison. Probation officials said in court papers that Comer failed to report for four drug tests, most recently over Labor Day Weekend. Testing was required as part of Comer's supervised release. Comer served nearly 21 years of a life sentence before Obama commuted his and 213 other defendants' sentences in 2016.

Richard Reid was already a two-time felon when authorities searched his Delaware apartment and found marijuana, crack cocaine divided into sales-size plastic bags, powder cocaine, a scale — and a loaded .32 caliber handgun, an unloaded .25 caliber pistol and ammunition for two other types of weapons. Last week, President Obama commuted Reid’s 25-year sentence and made him one of the hundreds of drug users and dealers who the White House says have done enough time. But at the same time, Mr. Obama forgave scores of gun crimes convictions for the offenders, raising thorny questions about whether the White House...
