The Pulitzer Prize winning book Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies, written by Jared Diamond (1997), documented that throughout human history, hunter-gathers were always subdued by people groups who had transitioned to agriculture. The first plants to be cultivated were: wheat, barley, rye, oats, lentils, peas, chickpeas, beans, almonds, and olives. Flax was cultivated as a source for linseed oil and fiber for clothes, ropes, rugs, bedding, curtains, and sails. Agricultural domestication of plants led to the domestication of animals, such as: donkey, horse, camel, pig, chicken, cattle and oxen. Harvests led to storage techniques, methods of...

So-called Republican Ana Navarro told a left-of-center outlet this week that she believes some people on the right oppose amnesty because they are racist. Navarro, the former "strategist" to liberal Republicans like John McCain and Jon Huntsman, has been elevating her profile among the mainstream press in the so-called "Acela corridor" by bashing conservatives, including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). Though there is often hardly a difference between the mainstream media and left-of-center outlets like Talking Points Memo, the Huffington Post, or BuzzFeed, Navarro now wants to be adored by them as well. There is...

Washington, DC--Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie issued the following statement on CBS’s admission today that memos regarding the President’s National Guard service are not real. “We accept CBS's apology for a breach of the journalistic standards that provide the American people confidence in news organizations, but some disturbing questions remain unanswered. “CBS has now answered questions about the authenticity of the documents but questions remain surrounding who created the documents, who provided them to CBS and if Senator Kerry's supporters, Party committee, or campaign played any role. “Did Bill Burkett, Democrat activist and Kerry campaign supporter, who passed information...

Someone else mentioned a website that is dedicated tot the IBM Selectric Composer. The link above will take you to that website. Besides being around four times more expensive to purchase than a regular IBM Selectric the website had a bit of information about the IBM Selectric Composer that hasn't been mentioned in anything I've seen so far. It seems you have to type everything twice perfectly when you use the Composer. Here is that section from the ibmcomposer.org website: click here "The first IBM Composer was the IBM "Selectric" Composer announced in 1966. It was a hybrid "Selectric" typewriter...

It wasn’t the type of attack that was expected. It did not involve troops and military equipment. It involved small hot air balloons carrying 33 pounds worth of explosives. Approximately 5,000 of these balloons were sent across the Pacific to the American homeland. They caused a few forest fires in the mid-west. One hit a power plant near Los...
