Just got back from the second Biden/Clatworthy radio debate, held at an old folks home in Wilmington, Delaware. The debate included a rather ineffectual Libertarian candidate and a lefty-type Natural Law party candidate. I saw at least one other Freeper there. Clatworthy supporters made a strong showing with many wearing easily identifiable red sweatshirts. The most interesting thing about the night was the annoying way Biden sucked up to President Bush on almost every issue, with Ray taking the true blue, Rumsfeld-Cheney conservative position. Any Delaware Valley Freepers heard the latest Clatworthy radio ads and want to comment. He nails Biden for voting to "raid the social security trust fund." I hate it when Republican buy into this "lockbox" nonsense but I understand it's a neccessary strategy for taking out an entrenched incumbent in a liberal state like Delaware. Biden has a counter-ad that charges Ray wants to to model the social security sytem after Chile's privatized program. I've heard Ray is within 8 points in Democrat internal polls.
