WASHINGTON -- National political pundits view Delaware's Senate race as a forgettable rematch between political colossus Joe Biden and the same nobody who got trounced last time.
But Ray Clatworthy, the Dover businessman trying once again to oust the 30-year veteran, sees a world transformed - and a Delaware ready for a political revolution.

The previous story on Mr. Clatworthy was in January ( See the post and thread on that article here ). Not mentioned in the article is that in Delaware, as with most political races in the U.S., the incumbent does well. In the last election, Mr. Clatworthy came from less than 1% recognition to 38% against an incumbent senator. Mr. Clatworthy has held no other office. Opponents of the other state-wide incumbents (such as Rep. Castle) received about 30%, so I think that Mr. Clatworthy did very well. Deep in this article is mention of Sen. Biden's foolish remarks about the U.S. being a high-tech bully, his threats against airline pilots, and other poses that show who the real bully is.
Now if we just have rain in Wilmington on election day.....
I voted against Joe in the last 2 cycles to no avail. The SOB has the Unions on his side. ,
Bought and paid in full. IMO
He has not done anything constuctive for the state that I am aware of. Him or Tom Carper.
They get fat off of our taxes and I would like to see them both ousted.
Ray is an upstanding man with DE's interests in mind as opposed to, only what the state can do for him to further his Career as an Politician.

You're exactly correct.
the only problem with this right now is Holt hasn't said yet whether or not he will force a primary against Clatworthy. I think he's going to make that decision and announcement today.
2 weeks ago I questioned Holt at the Kent county committee meeting about this - it took me a third time of asking the question before he finally said "I haven't decided yet." That was 10 days before the convention.
Delaware GOP Unites in U.S. Senate Race
Bill Holt Drops Out of U.S. Senate Race and Endorses Ray Clatworthy
WILMINGTON, DE --- Delaware Republican Party Chairman Everett Moore thanked Bill Holt today for his decision to withdraw from the race for United States Senate. Holt's decision leaves the party now unified in its support of Ray Clatworthy as the lone GOP candidate for U.S. Senate.
Brandywine businessman and entrepreneur Bill Holt held a press conference announcing his plans to support Mr. Clatworthy in his race to unseat Joe Biden.
"Today, Bill Holt made a very difficult decision, and I respect that he put aside personal ambitions for the greater good of the party", said Everett Moore. "Bill's vigorous campaigning has served to prepare Ray well for the challenges that lie ahead. We are happy and honored to have Bill as a strong and active supporter of Ray Clatworthy and the Delaware Republican Party as we move forward in our campaign to retire Joe Biden."
Ray Clatworthy was selected as the endorsed candidate at the Republican State Convention May 11th, where Mike Protack announced he would offer his support to Clatworthy.
"I'm very grateful for Bill's endorsement and generous show of support today," said Clatworthy. "Our Party is now strengthened, unified, and energized and we will concentrate on bringing our winning message into every home in Delaware. Republicans, Democrats, and Independents will know that if elected to the U.S. Senate, I will strongly support our President in America's war on terrorism, work to strengthen our military and homeland security and support efforts to alleviate the tax burden for the working men and women of Delaware."
