My colleague Bob Hoge reported on some of the comments that Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) made during her visit to "Alligator Alcatraz." She was shocked that people held in detention were held in - wait for it - cages. https://x.com/WesternLensman/status/1944134475790922127? 1 MIN VIDEO As Bob explained, what does she think a detention center/prison/jail is? It's not the Ritz. It's an enclosed barracks set up. But she wasn't at all concerned with the conditions under Joe Biden when illegal aliens were held in worse conditions and yes, in cages. This was how they were held under Joe Biden at one...

Florida Democrats are raising alarms over conditions at the state’s new immigration detention center, 'Alligator Alcatraz'. They say the facility is inhumane and an environmental threat to the Everglades. On Saturday morning, a group of Florida Democratic members of Congress visited the facility for a brief, state-coordinated tour that lawmakers say was a sanitized effort to cover up what’s really happening inside. U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who represents Florida’s 25th congressional district, said the group had originally intended to make an unannounced visit, which is permitted under federal law. However, they believe the state caught wind of the...

<p>The detention facility, located in the Everglades, houses hundreds of migrants in a tent city. Lawmakers were given a limited tour and claim they were denied access to areas where migrants are currently detained.</p><p>Detainees reportedly live in crowded cages (32 per cage), and have limited access to hygiene. Lawmakers reported seeing meager meals, and detainees are using the same water from the toilets for drinking and brushing their teeth.</p>

VIDEOThe HORROR! The absolute HORROR of Alligator Alcatraz!!! The detainees there are being assaulted by mosquitos THE SIZE OF ELEPHANTS! How do we know? Because a Cuban rapper detainee told us so via his cell phone from inside Alligator Alcatraz. On that same cell phone call he also informed the world that the detainees are suffering from freezing tents due to being tortured by air conditioning. Yes, rather than allowing the prisoners bask in the natural hot tropical humid temperatures, they are being forced to endure unnatural freezing air conditioning.I must admit that I was skeptical of claims of a...

VIDEOThe level of HYPOCRISY from this deluded Leftist is astounding. He wants to boycott Etsy for the "high crime" of allowing Alligator Alcatraz merch to be sold on its site but not a word of complaint from him over Commie merch being sold on Etsy. Examples of the latter include violent Commie Che Guevara and murderous Mao who caused the mass starvation of millions of Chinese during the failed Great Leap Forward. Plenty of prison merch is also sold on Etsy such as Folsom Prison and San Quentin merch but the Left only gets upset over Alligator Alcatraz. BTW, if...

Jonathan Capehart was filled with virtue signaling -- um, we mean righteous indignation! -- as he opened Saturday's edition of MSNBC's The Weekend. [snip] apehart then shifted his outrage to Trump's immigration policies: "The first immigrant detainees have arrived at the crudely named Alligator Alcatraz, human beings who are being kept in cages."What kind of heartless SOB could detain not just adults, but children, in these pictured conditions, and even defend it, saying he was "proud," adding: "If they’re good enough for our military, they’re good enough for these young people."Truly, Trump is the most despicable, callous, cold-hearted villain ever...

I had to break this one down because the left is losing their minds over “Alligator Alcatraz.” That’s what they’re calling a legal, secure processing center for illegal immigrants in Florida. They’re acting like we’re building a swamp prison in the middle of Jurassic Park—comparing it to Auschwitz, calling us supervillains, threatening jail time over a t-shirt. So we responded with facts, fire merch, and a promo video that shut the whole thing down. I showed y’all exactly what the facility looks like—clean, air-conditioned, with beds, not containers floating in gator-infested water. The hypocrisy is wild, especially when Biden and...

President Trumps new mega prison called 'Alligator Alcatraz' has only just opened, but apparently there are so many people in america illegally, if ice continues deporting 3k+ people per day, this place could soon be filled. Initial reports indicate the facility could hold 5000 detainees, however recent reports say 3000 will be held here on a revolving basis, necessitating the need for other states to follow Florida's lead and build facilities like this for the federal government. Journalistic report, includes news footage, commentary and analysis. There really is a sign outside that reads "Alligator Alcatraz" it's not just a nickname.

VIDEOOMG! A small puddle has formed inside a tent at Alligator Alcatraz during a rainstorm! Instead of just sweeping a mop across it a few times, let us turn that puddle into a FLOOD of epic proportions in order to pathetically try to discredit Alligator Alcatraz! If you hear liberals decrying a supposed "flood" at Alligator Alcatraz, keep in mind they are referring to a single minor puddle. In fact the images of the "flood" they present as evidence is always the same small puddle. What does that tell you? It tells you the Left is DESPERATE to discredit Alligator Alcatraz...

On Morning Joe, NBC reporter Julia Ainsley fretted that there could be "injuries" to detainees at Alligator Alcatraz. She did so in the context of noting that the facility is "soft-sided" rather than "bricks and mortar." Her implication seemed to be that, as a result, it will be easier for detainees to escape. Pro tip for detainees not wanting to become lunch for a hungry alligator or python: don't add to your crimes by escaping. Ainsley also claimed that with Alligator Alcatraz, the Trump administration is "deviating" from the notion that ICE detention is not meant to be punitive. Katty...

VIDEOHave you ever heard of concentration camps that provide air conditioning and serve up three square meals per day while NOT forcing the inmates to work? No? Then you will laugh at the Drama Queen hysteria of these liberals having meltdowns over Alligator Alcatraz while screaming DISINFORMATION such as that the back doors of cargo planes full of illegals are being opened over the ocean where they are unloaded. Or that that the Alligator Alcatraz incinerators are for disposing inmates, not trash. The source for this? Strictly feelings NOT facts. Will the media correct all the DISINFORMATION being spewed about...

The first photos of “Alligator Alcatraz” give a bleak inside look at the new migrant center deep in the Florida Everglades — as authorities prepare to stash up to 5,000 detainees in wire cages there. Video taken during a tour by President Trump on Tuesday revealed rows upon rows of empty industrial metal bunk beds enclosed in hastily constructed cages made up of chain fences. “[President] Biden wanted me in here, that son of a b—h,” President Trump said jokingly Tuesday as he was shown around the vast secure facility hidden within the subtropical wetlands of South Florida teeming with...

During a visit to the newly christened Florida facility, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem revealed that a man detained under the previous administration was among the “worst of the worst” — including a self-mutilating cannibal. “The other day I was talking to some Marshals that had been partnering with ICE,” Noem said during her visit. “They said that they had detained a cannibal and put him on a plane to take him home and while they had him in his seat, he started to eat himself, and they had to get him off and get him medical attention.”...

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is sending a strong message to those opposing his “Alligator Alcatraz” project: don’t expect any sympathy. The governor recently announced the creation of a new detention center deep in the Everglades, designed to house illegal immigrants until deportation. The facility is strategically located in an area teeming with alligators and pythons, making escape nearly impossible without risking deadly encounters with the surrounding wildlife. As Alligator Alcatraz gears up for its expected opening on Tuesday, demonstrators flooded Florida’s streets to voice their opposition to Governor DeSantis’ controversial new facility. However, DeSantis issued a blunt warning to protesters: stay...

A coalition of groups, ranging from environmental activists to Native Americans advocating for their ancestral homelands, converged outside an airstrip in the Florida Everglades Saturday to protest the imminent construction of an immigrant detention center.Hundreds of protesters lined part of U.S. Highway 41 that slices through the marshy Everglades — also known as Tamiami Trail — as dump trucks hauling materials lumbered into the airfield. Cars passing by honked in support as protesters waved signs calling for the protection of the expansive preserve that is home to a few Native tribes and several endangered animal species. Christopher McVoy, an ecologist,...

Environmental groups Friday filed a federal lawsuit seeking to halt construction and operation of a detention center for undocumented immigrants that has been dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz,” saying it threatens ecologically sensitive areas and species in the surrounding Everglades and Big Cypress National Preserve. The lawsuit, filed by the group Friends of the Everglades and the Center for Biological Diversity, alleges that federal and state agencies have violated laws that, in part, require evaluating potential environmental impacts before such a project can move forward. “The hasty transformation of the site into a mass detention facility, which includes the installation of housing...

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida is now using emergency powers to take over a remote, 30-square-mile site in the Everglades to build what some are calling "Alligator Alcatraz." The site is located at the abandoned Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport. The Florida Division of Emergency Management confirmed in a June 23 letter to Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava that it is immediately occupying the property to support federal immigration enforcement. The state said the site will hold up to 5,000 immigration detainees and will operate under the current state of emergency. Construction is already underway.

Florida is about to make a bold statement in the ongoing national debate over illegal immigration, and it’s not just talk — it’s action. The Sunshine State is rolling out a new approach that’s as tough as it is practical: setting up a string of detention centers specifically for illegal immigrants with criminal records. The centerpiece of this initiative is a facility tucked deep in the Everglades, built on the bones of an abandoned airfield, and already earning an unforgettable nickname from state officials: “Alligator Alcatraz.” The name isn’t just for show. Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier made it clear...

Illegal migrants could soon be held in a massive new immigration detention center in Florida, which has been dubbed the “Alligator Alcatraz.” The 39-square-mile plot of land — which is surrounded by alligators and pythons — was offered to the Trump administration by Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier. The “virtually abandoned airport facility” would have the capacity to “house as many as 1,000 criminal aliens,” Uthmeier said in a video sharing his offer with the White House. He added that it could be up and running within as little as 30 to 60 days. “Florida’s been leading on immigration enforcement,...
