Three Alabama men have been arrested for allegedly operating what local authorities described as an “abhorrent” and “horrific” child sex abuse ring out of an underground bunker near their homes in Brent, Ala. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office announced this past weekend that William Chase McElroy, Dalton Terrell, and Andres Velazquez-Trejo have all been arrested and charged in connection with the child sex abuse case. Local authorities began investigating the case back in February, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post announcing the men’s arrest on Saturday.

It was an ordinary day at the beach of the Fort Morgan Peninsula in Baldwin County, Alabama late last week. That was, until beachgoers watched a mysterious bundle bobbing in the water. Swimmers dragged it onto the shore and called the police. Testing confirmed that it was $1.5 million worth of cocaine. Authorities are now investigating the incident. A prominent rebel leader in eastern Ukraine has been killed in an explosion in his office, his associates said on Wednesday. TUSKEGEE, Ala. (AP) — A runaway kangaroo named Sheila shut down a stretch of interstate in Alabama on Tuesday before state troopers and the animal’s owner wrangled the wayward marsupial. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the kangaroo was spotted Tuesday hopping along the side of Interstate 85 in Macon County, which is between Montgomery and Auburn. The sight snarled traffic, and state troopers shut down both sides of the interstate for the safety of motorists. The animal’s owner and troopers were able to capture it, Capt. Jeremy J. New construction in the Huntsville area topped $509.7 million in the first quarter of 2025, according to building permits issued in Madison, Limestone and Morgan counties.
