DPRK Condemns US for Military Buildup in Asia The Korean Central News Agency condemned the United States Saturday for its decision to transfer some hardware and technical equipment of the US forces to Asia from Europe. An article carried by the news agency said that the projected transfer of the U.S. forces deployed in Europe for a large-scale war proves that the Bush administration's world strategy to bring the Asia-Pacific region under its control and exercise supremacy over it has already entered the phase of implementation. It is as clear as noonday that the transfer of military hardware to be ...

McCullough is the author of the splendid biographies of Harry Truman, T.R. Roosevelt, and John Adams (his latest). He is giving a live lecture now, I'm sure it'll be replayed on CSPAN2 later. He began his remarks about how the National Book Festival is a wonderful event, and that we've never had a First Lady who was a librarian before, and that our CURRENT First Lady deserves all the credit and praise for putting together such an educational, terrific event--a NATIONAL BOOK FESTIVAL. Even the liberals in the audience were forced to applaud! :)

The World Bank and International Monetary Fund have scheduled two days of meetings adjacent to our campus September 29 and 30, 2001. As a result of these meetings, municipal officials expect as many as 100,000 visitors in and around Foggy Bottom. They anticipate disruptions of normal operations and have expressed concern for the campus. While we believe that the majority of guests, including protesters, will peacefully exercise their First Amendment rights, recent experience with similar meetings in other locations and the best advice from city and federal sources, have focused our attention. As part of their crowd control efforts, police ...

“Instead of cobbling together even more obstacles, Senators should do the work they are sworn and paid to do and fill these vacancies.” — Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT), May 1997 When Senator Leahy admonished his fellows to end the "judicial vacancy crisis" and confirm the President's judicial nominees, Charles Schumer wasn't a member of the U.S. Senate. So perhaps he can be excused for not knowing of the Judiciary Committee chairman's [formerly] adamant opposition to throwing obstacles in the way of nominee confirmations. As Tuesday's Administrative Oversight & the Courts Subcommittee hearing clearly showed, Senator Schumer is leading the ...

Israel Retaliates Against Palestinians RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) — Israeli helicopters struck offices of Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement in the West Bank city of Ramallah on Saturday, but no injuries were reported, Palestinian witnesses said. The Israeli army said the attack came in retaliation for shooting attacks on Israelis, including a roadside ambush Thursday that killed a soldier and seriously wounded another. Ambulances rushed to the scene of the strike, but there were no initial reports of injuries. Two helicopters were heard in the air moments before three missiles hit the eight-floor building, causing severe damage on the floor of ...

Zionism, Racism and anti-Semitism The modern definition of 'racist' is someone who is winning an argument with a liberal. - Peter Brimelow A tragic mistake that is common to any discussion on politics is that racism is bad. The dictionary clearly states that racism is: "the notion that one's own ethnic stock is superior", and "discrimination or prejudice based on racism". Now consider for a moment the merits or the flaws in this definition. Ethnic groups regularly take pride in their heritage and traditions. Many view their culture to be preferred to others. Most classify others as different to them ...

x Saturday, September 8, 2001 Beck passed first ATF search By Kathleen Sweeney Staff Writer SANTA CLARITA -- James Allen Beck tied up his German shepherd and walked outside his Brentwood home a year ago to wait while federal agents searched the house for weapons. Officials had been investigating Beck for impersonating a deputy U.S. attorney after receiving a tip he was bragging to acquaintances about his high-status job and carrying several semiautomatic weapons and ammunition. The search was fruitless. But a year later, a similar search -- a hunt for more weapons at his new Stevenson Ranch home -- ...

Recently a guy in Paris nearly got away with stealing several paintings from the Louvre. However, after planning the crime, breaking in, evading security and escaping with the goods, he was captured only two blocks away when his rented van ran out of gas. When asked how he could mastermind such a crime and then make such an obvious error, he replied: "I had no Monet to buy Degas to make the Van Gogh."

In the coming days, disgraced Congressman Gary Condit is expected to announce that he's ready to retire from the House -- in 2003. Democratic Party leaders are praying that his promise to depart the scene in the distant bye and bye will tamp down interest in Condit's Chandra Levy cover-up and thereby take the heat off the party. Nice try. The embattled congressman's January 2003 retirement means that for the next fifteen months, Washington, D.C.'s most suspicious politician will not only continue to serve in the House of Representatives, it looks like he'll retain his highly sensitive post on the ...

DURBAN, South Africa -- The World Conference Against Racism adopted a declaration Saturday recognizing the injustice of slavery and colonialism and the "plight" of Palestinians after nine days of contentious debate and brinksmanship that repeatedly threatened to unravel the gathering.Compromises on both issues were reached only Saturday morning, a day after the conference had been scheduled to end. Even as they accepted the compromise, Arab states registered their reservations that the conference would not directly condemn Israel for its treatment of Palestinians. After the conference declaration and program of action were adopted about 4:40 p.m., Australia and Canada said they ...

Clinton grew the debt $1,518,082,862,690.26 In the never ending argument in how sleezy and discusting our 42nd president was, frustrated bed wetting liberals often try to defend clinton with the come back: "yea?... yea?... well, he payed down the debt, and stuff. so... so... it's ok" You can quickly retort "clinton grew the debt 1.5 trillion."

Cats are beautiful, sophisticated, intelligent creatures. And with a little love and caring, they can keep a human being alive for upwards of seventy to eighty years. If you follow these simple instructions, you can have your human housetrained in no time. CLEANLINESS: For some reasons, humans seem to enjoy immersing themselves in running water. Attempts to get humans to lick themselves clean have proven interesting, if unproductive. COMMUNICATION: Humans are unable to speak a proper language. Therefore, you should communicate a point loudly, repeatedly, and if at all possible, at about three in the morning. Any attempts at human-to-cat ...

LINDEN, Texas--Cass County sheriff's deputies attempted to serve warrants Thursday on a black woman who reported being abducted and assaulted by white men last week, but she was nowhere to be found. Camille Fulton, 32, of Bivins, Texas, is named in two warrants--giving a false statement to a police officer and fabricating evidence, a felony. Her story included an allegation that the men carved the letters "KKK" across her chest during the attack. "We went down to her residence today and she was not there," Chief Deputy Ronnie Fincher said Thursday afternoon. "We are being told she has not been ...

I argued with a socialist last night at a cocktail party. I beat her into the dust, but I also came to the "ultimate" realization. Marx is still alive! The way these people argue/debate is to turn your own values upon you, and question you on these. The perfect example is the debate I had last night. The liberal in question has always known that I am a conservative, she also knew that I was a Catholic, and she knew I was a VietNam Vet. There was the set up. I generally don't start an argumant with these idiots, but ...

SYDNEY (Reuters) - Former President Bill Clinton lamented on Saturday that he had not been able to do more to secure a lasting peace in the Middle East, where violence between Palestinians and Israelis continues. Clinton said he had made some progress in bringing Israelis and Palestinians together during his eight years in the White House but had failed to leave a legacy of peace. ``Now all hell breaks loose there every day and both communities are full of grieving and funerals,'' Clinton said in a wide-ranging speech at a charity dinner for a Sydney children's hospital. ``I regret that ...
