Israel Strikes Arafat's Fatah Offices

RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) -- Israeli helicopters struck offices of Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement in the West Bank city of Ramallah on Saturday, but no injuries were reported, Palestinian witnesses said.

The Israeli army said the attack came in retaliation for shooting attacks on Israelis, including a roadside ambush Thursday that killed a soldier and seriously wounded another.

Ambulances rushed to the scene of the strike, but there were no initial reports of injuries.

Two helicopters were heard in the air moments before three missiles hit the eight-floor building, causing severe damage on the floor of the Fatah offices, witnesses said.

Carlos Zaghlool, a Fatah employee in the building, said a meeting of party officials ended just before the missiles struck.

``I was still inside when I heard some helicopters flying very close to the building,'' said Zaghlool, who managed to get out of the smoke-filled offices through the bathroom window. ``One missile entered the room.''

Marwan Barghouti, leader of the Tanzim militia that is affiliated with Fatah, accused Israel of targeting a top Fatah official, Muhammed Mansour, who had left the building moments before the attack. The army would not comment on the accusation.

Israel has repeatedly accused the Fatah party of involvement in attacks and many of its gunmen are wanted by Israel.

In a helicopter attack Thursday in Tulkarem, Israel targeted a militia leader affiliated with Fatah. The gunman, Raed Karmi, escaped with light injuries, but two other gunmen were killed.

....and asked for a whiskey sour. I charged him 20 bucks for the drink and said to him "You know, we don't get many missiles in here" And the missile replied "At these prices, it's no wonder."

It's a pity that the IDF is forced to shoot at empty buildings while the CFR directed slaughter of Isreali [sic] Jews continues. The real ploy of the 'illuminated ones' is to demoralize the Zionist Jews while offering their contived [sic] version of 'Peace'.

One has to realize that all of this is happening in the context of the ongoing agreements between the Vatican and the PLO. Jerusalem

Could you do me the kindness of posting any and all evidence you have of ongoing agreements between the Vatican and the PLO which support the “CFR directed slaughter of Isreali [sic] Jews” please? I am well aware there are agreements between the two, just as there are agreements between the Vatican and Israel. I am specifically looking for ones supporting your specific allegation.

You know, I also have to wonder exactly why you would bring up the Vatican in relation to this article. What on earth did the Vatican have to do with the events unfolding here?

For it is you who have taken "anti-Semitism" and equated it with patriotism, the love of freedom and equality.

Let me quote you from over here (#6): "Personally, next time a Cole or American embassy is bombed, you won't find me crying foul. Sic semper tyrranis."

If Americans get blown to bits they had it coming, huh? Is that *your* idea of patriotism?

who give their lives for the liberation of their country?

What country is being liberated? The PA is trying to found a new nation.

Your aliegences are clear. I have to problem with a Palistinian State...nor does Israel. Pray tell, what do you think is holding things up?

My God, I have hardly seen such a limited use of force over the last year by Israel. They have been under attack for a Solid year from every front and PA in total claims fewer than 700 casualties - and that includes PA idiots who chose to kill themselves.

More from puppas:
Since no one has the balls to state the positive effects of LSD, I will. P.s. I am a social conservative. LSD is not addictive, in fact quite the opposite. To take LSD every day would be a profound exercise in willpower, not hedonism. LSD is not a hedonistic drug, as it does not produce euphoria, but rather an interesting exprecience in the literal sense of the world. I know of no individual who would take LSD at work, since a "trip" can easily tyurn negative and fearsome if accompanied by negative stimuli which are so common in the workplace; further LSD can engender confusion which is not good for work. Most abusive patterns, whether illegal or legal, centers around physical addiction and/or the goal of insulating an individual from negative feelings. The positive effect of LSD it can help you to se things from a profoundly different perspective. For my part, having had piano lessons as a child, I rediscovered music on LSD and gained the ability to follow several parts simultaneously. I fell in love with Debussy and Bach on LSD. The Beatles stated quite plainly that LSD was the primary factor which led to the creative advances of the second half of their career. In any case, the "psychedelics" LSD, psilocybin etc. are not remotely like any other commonly used drugs in their effects and to speak of them in the same breath is a sign of ignorance. Marijuana is much more of a "day-to-day" drug, it is not a gateway to anything else. I am a very frequent user, and find that it has beneficial effects on my psychological well-being without causing confusion, uncoordination, sickness, depression, etc. Its main negative effect is lethargy, but for a hyperactive person like me, this can be positive. If someone already had problems with low energy levels, marijuana is probably not right for them. I've had cocaine on a number of occasions and had a reasonably good time. Essentially it is like coffee, with more euphoria effect, or like speed with more mental control and without the awful pain in your joints on withdrawal. In my opinon, were cocaine legal, it would probably show up next to the coffee pot in professional offices in no time, since it allows you to stay alert and focused when you would otherwise be bored. Speed, while having similar focussing effects, is poison and should be avoided, along with the closely related Ritalin. Although the students at Cal-Tech swear by it around exam time... While I also drink, I can plainly state that no drug in widespread use has the profound effects on motor control and judgement as does alcohol. If I pass an 18-wheeler on a narrow highway, it would be nice if he were sober and acceptable if he were stoned or on speed or cocaine (most are), but a tragedy in the making were he drunk. Further alcohol has several poisonous effects, as we all know from experience. Marijuana has no hangover and no proven negative health effects other than that of inhaling smoke. Social conservatives who are hung up on drugs have been tricked. The goal of life is not maximum production, this is a liberal utilitarian concept which ought to be opposed. Instead, we should focus on ACTUAL SIN, such as adultery, which has been fully legalized, destroys families, breaks hearts, yet we call it "people's own business." Or homosexuality, in which a gay man kills a nother gay man through AIDS, and we applaud it as "love." Or abortion - well, don't get me started. The essence of a sin is that you have harmed an innocent being for your own gain. There is nothing contradictory about drug use and conservatism or, for that matter, Christianity. It is a RED HERRING. Even if you eliminated all drugs (you never will), America would still be slouching towards Gommorah. P.s. William F. Buckley has smoked marijuana for many, many years. Those who state that marijuana dealers ought to die have replaced traditional morality with the exhortions of a concocted Government led propoganda campaign, one which inverts Judeo-Christian morality by adding "sins" that were never forbidden and by ignoring the essence of the Law which is the Golden Rule.
One sick puppy.
