The Supreme Court said Tuesday that it will consider whether there is a Second Amendment right to possess AR-15s and similar rifles, setting up the court’s latest potential expansion of gun rights. The issue will be argued in the next term, which starts in October, with a decision expected by July 2027. The court has expanded gun rights in recent years and just backed those rights in multiple rulings this term. * * * With Tuesday’s decision to review the matter in two consolidated cases from Illinois and Connecticut, Kavanaugh’s statement is coming to fruition. It takes four justices to...

The Supreme Court on Tuesday erased limits on how much political parties can spend in coordination with candidates for Congress and president, striking down a federal election law that is more than 50 years old. Prodded by a Republican-led lawsuit that includes Vice President JD Vance, the court’s six conservative justices were again in the majority of the latest decision that upended congressionally enacted limits on raising and spending money to influence elections. The court’s 2010 Citizens United decision opened the door to unlimited independent spending in federal elections. The limits on party spending stem from a desire to prevent...

Thousands of people have marched in South Africa's main cities to demand that all undocumented migrants leave the country. Police officers - backed by private security guards - have been deployed because of fears that protests could turn violent. Anti-migrant groups had set Tuesday as the deadline for undocumented migrants to leave. Many foreigners have already fled to escape violence and intimidation. South African police say 25,000 have been repatriated so far. Most are from other African countries. One undocumented Malawian told the BBC he was "happy to be going back" but "heartbroken" to be leaving behind four young children....

Official transcript from the US Senate on May 30, 1866. Senator Jacob Howard, who introduced the 14th Amendment: "This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens...” SCOTUS got this ruling 100% wrong. A total travesty.

My 16-year-old daughter, Becky Pepper-Jackson, wants what most kids want: to be herself and play the sport she loves with her friends. As a transgender girl, that simple wish took her all the way to the Supreme Court, where the justices ruled that our home state of West Virginia can bar her from playing school sports with her friends and peers. I always knew that no matter what the court decided, Becky would be a winner because she has shown all of us how to love, accept and be ourselves no matter the outcome.

Rep. Tom Kean Jr., R-N.J., delivered an emotional speech Tuesday revealing for the first time the medical condition that kept him away from the House and campaign stops for nearly four months. Kean said he was given a diagnosis of depression after entering the hospital for "some testing." He said the illness took him months to heal from and left him under doctors' care during a prolonged stay in the hospital. "I'm grateful that I accepted help, because today I stand before you stronger, healthier and excited to return to the work that I love," Kean said on the House...

@RandPaul Months before the Supreme Court ever ruled, I had a feeling exactly this would happen. An executive order was never going to be strong enough to permanently fix birthright citizenship, no matter how good the intentions behind it were. That's why I filed a constitutional amendment early this year instead of waiting around to see how the courts would rule. This decision confirms what I already suspected. If we want real, lasting change, it has to come through the amendment process. @glennbeck The Supreme Court just ruled that, apparently, immigration IS a suicide pact. It has struck down Trump's...

This week, the House of Representatives is considering a bill to radically expand the government’s power to regulate online speech platforms. Framed as a child safety measure, the KIDS Act imposes a litany of restrictions on social media apps and other platforms... The KIDS Act would fundamentally overturn this status quo by allowing the government to decide how platforms can be built and imposing restrictions that will censor the speech of adults and minors alike...

A speeding driver who held a shameless online fundraiser for himself after killing a Los Angeles cop and a Whole Foods worker in a fiery highway wreck has been hit with murder charges over the horrific crash. Mario Bickham, 36, of Los Angeles was charged with two counts of second-degree murder Monday for the killing of LAPD Sgt. Shiou Deng and Jesus Garcia, 34, in the June 23, 2025 collision on the busy 405 Freeway. ... LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell said Bickham was driving his Nissan sedan at more than 112 miles per hour when he slammed into Deng, who...

Senator Raphael Warnock of Georgia, a Democrat, recently spoke to members of a synagogue in Los Angeles and claimed that transphobia is violence against humanity and divinity and an offense to the glory of God. First, transphobia is a stupid word. People who object to the trans agenda do not fear trans people. They just don't want it pushed on their kids in schools. They don't want their wives and daughters to have to share intimate spaces with biological men. Second, aren't trans people the ones who are denying God by interfering with His creation? They are the ones who...

Amelia Earhart’s disappearance in the summer of 1937 has remained one of aviation’s greatest mysteries for nearly 90 years. Since then, explorers and researchers have searched land, reef, lagoon, and deep ocean for any trace of the plane she flew with navigator Fred Noonan. One team has spent years looking west of Howland Island. Its newest lead comes from a strange place for a deep-ocean search: the airwaves. In 2020, the deep-sea exploration and historical research organization Nauticos procured and restored a radio system identical to the one that Earhart and Noonan used on their final flight: a Western Electric...

Happy 4th to you, too, Eddie! MS NOW contributor and Princeton professor Eddie Glaude Jr appeared on Tuesday’s Morning Joe to offer his repetitively bleak take on America as the nation nears its 250th birthday. Glaude described America as a "white republic,” built on "greed and selfishness and grift and hatred." Invoking Moby Dick, he analogized the US to an ugly "white whale" that threatens to "choke out the life of the country.” Patriotism is racism. Get the rest of the story and view the video here.

The debate surrounding Karmelo Anthony’s trial has also drawn attention to his life in prison following his conviction. Anthony, 19, was convicted of the murder of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf on June 9, 2026. He was initially booked into the Collin County Jail before being transferred the following day to the Wallace Pack Unit in Texas. Anthony is not being housed in the general prison population. Because of the high-profile nature of the case, he has remained in protective custody since his transfer to the Wallace Pack Unit. Recent reports also indicate that he is receiving special meals while in custody....

- So, Mehek, you look at the success that these candidates have had in New York City, here in Washington, D .C., a couple of weeks ago. Does that extend next to Colorado? Does that work in districts that are beyond big, very blue cities? - It does. This new Communist Party that is taking over is not just in New York. We've seen it expand in eight states. And this is where these communists are very... eight states, and this is where these communists are very sincere and clever they're talking like you said about kitchen table issues they're...

Khanna’s ultra-wealthy family depends on the same kind of secretive financial accounting and unearned wealth that he criticizes on the stump Rep. Ro Khanna (D., Calif.) has emerged as a potential contender for the Democratic presidential nomination while denouncing the ultra-rich who "hoard wealth and engage in financial speculation." But the progressive, Silicon Valley congressman and his family live a life of staggering luxury, fueled by dynastic wealth they did not earn and protected by the same thicket of trusts, anonymous corporations, and foundations that Khanna condemns. Khanna lives in a $6 million, 8,000-square-foot luxury home with a four-story elevator...

The insurgent left just shook New York. Colorado Democrats increasingly think they could be next. Democrats in the Centennial State are bracing for an anti-establishment earthquake of their own. Tuesday’s primary election will test the left’s momentum beyond the five boroughs — and whether the anti-incumbent fever will topple Sen. Michael Bennet and Rep. Diana DeGette, a pair of longtime fixtures of state Democratic politics. Bennet allies acknowledge his primary for governor race is far closer than they expected, a startling position for one of the state’s best-known Democrats, while DeGette is facing similar anti-Washington headwinds, as internal polling in...
