This might be the most clever campaign marketing strategy of all time. Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt is literally cleaning up the city’s filth, which has been allowed to fester under Mayor Karen Bass for years. His team is busy power washing the sidewalks of LA to spell out the message: “Imagine if the streets were this clean.” Brilliantly, they are using a water stencil to achieve this. So, the words are created from the dirt that remains on the street, exposing just how filthy they’ve gotten under the city’s failed leadership. See it for yourself: VIDEOS AT LINK...................

Hi all, Just a brief note here---I know many of you get "Today's News" which Lakeside Granny generously posts. Here are a couple of thoughts on "polls" that supposedly have Trump in low 40s or worse. 1) When the first bombing campaign on Iran began just under a year ago, several of "our" reliable pollsters went nuts. Not going to name names. I've known some of them for years, and we have been mutually supportive. But they veered far left mainly driven by animus to Israel, and it has only gotten worse. They did what they always criticized their Hoax-y...

There is a lot of talk about whether the Federal Reserve should raise interest rates, but in fact, the market is hiking rates with or without central bank cooperation. Treasury yields have crept relentlessly higher over the last several months, signaling significant stress in the bond market. The 10-year Treasury yield was over 4.6 percent last Thursday morning (May 21), and the 30-year was north of 5 percent. Meanwhile, rates on the lower end of the curve are also spiking, with the 2-year Treasury note above 4 percent. Earlier in the week, bond yields hit multi-decade highs. At an auction...

Reset the sign: Another Trump assassination attempt, but this time we can switch the spinner from “Deranged Democrat” to “Complete Nutcase.” White House Gunman Identified, Was Known to Secret Service A court issued an order barring him from the area. He violated it and kept coming back. The Secret Service kept finding him loitering around the White House. Chronicle of a death foretold. Nasire Best, 21, of Maryland, had been showing up at the White House for nearly a year before Saturday evening, when he pulled out a revolver and opened fire at a security checkpoint. Secret Service officers shot...

Sacramento City Councilwoman Mai Vang, a far-left Democrat now seeking a seat in Congress, is under fire after renewed attention to her repeated refusal to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and instances in which she reportedly turned her back on the American flag during public meetings. Vang is currently serving on the Sacramento City Council while mounting a challenge for California’s 7th Congressional District seat. For millions of Americans, the Pledge of Allegiance is a simple expression of gratitude and patriotism, a moment to honor the republic, the Constitution, and the generations of Americans who fought and died defending freedom....

A draft framework for a potential comprehensive agreement between Iran and the United States is circulating among negotiating parties, according to multiple regional sources briefed on the talks. If finalized, the proposal would mark the most significant diplomatic step since the Pakistan-brokered ceasefire that halted nearly six weeks of war—a conflict that began on Feb. 28 with Israel’s killing of then-supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a joint attack on high-ranking officials and vital sites across Iran. - snip - The draft framework, as described to Amwaj.media by Arab and Iranian sources, includes an end to hostilities on all fronts,...

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Leo XIV called Monday for robust regulation of artificial intelligence and for its developers to work for the common good rather than profit, issuing a sweeping manifesto on safeguarding humankind as the technology impacts everything from work to war. “Magnifica Humanitas” (Magnificent Humanity), Leo’s first encyclical, has been eagerly awaited ever since history’s first U.S.-born pope announced days after his election that he considered AI to be the biggest challenge facing humanity today. In the text, Leo denounced the “culture of power” driving the AI race, especially in developing ever more sophisticated methods of remote...

Comparisons to “Solo” are particularly telling. That film disappointed in 2018, yet current adjusted figures show “The Mandalorian and Grogu” falling short even of that benchmark. International totals hover around $63 million for the opening, insufficient to guarantee profitability without exceptional word-of-mouth. With theaters demanding their cut, breaking even requires the film to approach half a billion worldwide—a tall order given current trajectories.

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA A PROCLAMATION The greatest fighting force the world has ever known is built upon the extraordinary service of selfless men and women who safeguard our liberty and preserve our way of life. Since the birth of our Nation nearly 250 years ago, countless souls have lost their lives in this noble and righteous pursuit. On Memorial Day, we honor these American heroes. America endures in strength, power, and prosperity because of the awe-inspiring selflessness and valor of those in uniform willing to lay down their lives in its defense. From the...

Hollywood director Christopher Nolan is being ripped by a Greek-interest publication for not having any Greek actors in his adaptation of The Odyssey.Nolan’s film is based on the 2,800-year-old epic poem told by Homer, which follows the fantastic journey of the heroic king of Ithaca, Odysseus. It is one of the oldest known works of literature in history and was composed by a Greek man — in Greek, for his fellow Greeks. Yet Nolan’s film, toasted by Hollywood access media for its “diversity,” doesn’t have any Greeks in it at all. And the Greek City Times — an Australia-based news...

Since the end of World War II, the United States has spent trillions of dollars defending Europe. After defeating the Nazis, America rebuilt the European continent with the Marshall Plan and shielded it from Soviet aggression while propping up European economies through subsidies and investments. We bailed out failing governments. We airlifted food into Berlin when it was being choked off by the Soviet Union. We sent military aid. We ultimately saved Europe from communism. And instead of gratitude, we receive lectures, censorship of American speech on European platforms, punitive fines against our tech companies, and open disdain for our...

Reform UK’s Nigel Farage has criticised Elon Musk over his support for Restore Britain, warning the tech billionaire will “split the right” in the Makerfield by-election. The Tesla boss posted a series of messages backing Restore Britain on his social media platform X. Labour’s Andy Burnham hopes to use the Makerfield contest to return to Westminster and potentially launch a bid to replace Sir Keir Starmer as Prime Minister. Reform’s Robert Kenyon came second in the seat in 2024 and an opinion poll suggested Mr Burnham has a lead of just three percentage points over him. But with Restore Britain’s...

Since war is the world's most terrible scourge, we should do all in our power to prevent its recurrence. It was the hope of mankind that with the cessation of hostilities of World War II the way would be open to founding a permanent peace. Instead, that war has left the world in a state of continued unrest. Accordingly, we feel the need of turning in humble suppliance to Almighty God for help and guidance. In recognition of this need, the Congress has fittingly provided, in a joint resolution which I approved on May 11, 1950, that Memorial Day, which...

The regime in Iran is lying to you and your negotiators (period, stop!). Do not believe a word they say. I know you want to get out of this mess. All Americans want this unnecessary war to end. Keep in mind, as you have been told many times, Iran is still the leading state sponsor of terrorism (all anyone needs to say is Hezbollah, Hamas & Houthis, never mind IRGC-QF). None of these organizations are going away with this deal. How about getting them to first publicly apologize for killing American Soldiers and U.S. Marines many times over (especially on...

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is not merely keeping busy. The New York Democrat is methodically building a national profile through targeted appearances in key cities and states, all while insisting her ambitions extend far beyond any single office. This carefully choreographed activity reveals a party still captive to its most extreme impulses, even after electoral setbacks that should have prompted serious reflection. As Democrats search for their next standard-bearer, Ocasio-Cortez’s recent moves—rallies in Philadelphia, voting rights events in Montgomery, Alabama, and addresses at historic Atlanta churches—paint a picture of a politician positioning herself as the heir to Bernie Sanders’ movement. Her...

President Trump kicked off Memorial Day with his traditional passive-aggressive holiday rage post against his enemies, bashing “all of the Dumocrats, RINOS, and Fools who know nothing about the potential deal I am making with Iran.” The president got an earlier start than in recent holidays, firing off his standard holiday rage post around 6:18 am ET. “Happy Memorial Day to all, including the Dumocrats, who disrespect our Military and all of the tremendous success that it has had over the last year. God Bless those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. I love you all!” he posted on Truth...
