Reform UK’s Nigel Farage has criticised Elon Musk over his support for Restore Britain, warning the tech billionaire will “split the right” in the Makerfield by-election.
The Tesla boss posted a series of messages backing Restore Britain on his social media platform X.
Labour’s Andy Burnham hopes to use the Makerfield contest to return to Westminster and potentially launch a bid to replace Sir Keir Starmer as Prime Minister.
Reform’s Robert Kenyon came second in the seat in 2024 and an opinion poll suggested Mr Burnham has a lead of just three percentage points over him.
But with Restore Britain’s candidate picking up support, Mr Farage said Mr Burnham would be “delighted” by Mr Musk’s intervention.
He told the Telegraph: “Elon Musk has decided he will try to split the right of British politics as best he can.
“This is supporting a party that’s one man with a social media account. Quite what he’s trying to achieve, I have no idea.”

Who's right here? Lowe shouldn't be trying to split the right it only helps the Labour government stay in power.
They're a spoiler in that district. They cannot win outright unless something seismic happens.
If Farage really wants to save England he has to find a way to team up with restore. The way it stands restore they will split the vote and Labour destroy what is left. Unfortunately he is going the other way and trying to vilify Restore. Further evidence that Farage is not the one. As someone put it Farage is Pence and they need Trump
There’s no saving the UK.
I am afraid you are probably right. Reform just means a slower death.
Farage has allied himself with muslims. Hard to believe he’ll do what’s necessary & start RE-migration. But Lowe started too late & should simply align himself with Farage to get some leverage. And then push him to do what’s right.
