Bungled link handed over sensitive docs, and when recipient didn't cooperate, police opted for cuffs iconDutch police have arrested a man for "computer hacking" after accidentally handing him their own sensitive files and then getting annoyed when he didn't hand them back. The Politie said on Monday that a 40-year-old man from Ridderkerk was arrested on Thursday after he wound up with confidential documents thanks to what officers acknowledge was their own cock-up. The chain of events reads less like a breach and more like an own goal. In connection with a separate investigation, the man contacted the police...

Far-left New York City Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is being widely mocked for erroneously claiming that Venezuela is “below the equator” while trying to show off her foreign-policy chops in Germany. Venezuela sits just above the equator, but that didn’t stop the Democratic socialist — who majored in international relations at Boston University — from making the embarrassing gaffe while speaking at a Technical University of Berlin panel Sunday. “[Nicolas] Maduro canceled elections. He was an anti-democratic leader,” Ocasio-Cortez said, describing the Venezuela elections that took place under the Maduro regime and which many international organizations have said were rigged.

Though rarely honored these days exactly on Feb. 22, his actual birth date, “Presidents’ Day” is officially still Washington’s birthday. And that’s entirely right and proper, as our first chief executive deserves every American’s gratitude. Amid today’s bitter political discord, all should consider Washington’s example. Yes, he — and the entire generation of the Founders — achieved greatness that none of their successors could hope to match.

Explanation: How is RXJ0528+2838 creating such shock waves? A recently discovered white dwarf star, the farther left of the two largest white spots, RXJ0528+2838, was found 730 light-years away from Earth. Most stars, when done fusing nuclei in their cores for energy, become red giant stars, the cores of which live on as faint dense white dwarfs that slowly cool down for the rest of time. White dwarfs are so dense that the only thing that stops them from collapsing further is quantum mechanics. In about 5 billion years, our Sun will become a white dwarf, too. The featured image,...

A new report accuses the social studies curriculum of the School District of Philadelphia as being anti-Semitic and anti-American due to the curriculum’s new focus on looking at history through oppressor and oppressed categories. The Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis published a report Wednesday criticizing the SDP’s social studies curriculum for allegedly attacking Western values and institutions, specifically “capitalism, racism, and settler colonialism.” The report alleged the move toward “anti-racist, decolonizing curriculum” encouraged teachers to openly attack America, Zionism, and Israel in their classrooms, according to a Wednesday X post by CAMERA’s accou

[Catholic/Anglican Caucus] Fr. James Martin praises Pope Leo for celebrating Mass with altar girlsMartin’s claim that it is un-controversial to have female altar servers is contradicted by many arguments, including irrefutable theological principles and practical considerations.Dissident Jesuit priest James Martin has praised Pope Leo XIV for including two female altar servers at a Mass he celebrated at a parish in Rome this past weekend.“The use of female altar servers has proven controversial in some US dioceses, and among some bishops, but, apparently, not in the Diocese of Rome or for its bishop,” Martin said on social media Monday.Martin’s remarks come...

A petition to ban hunting in Oregon is picking up steam. Animal rights advocates are fighting to change the law in Oregon, including banning most hunting, fishing and animal research. One of the people leading the charge of getting this petition out there says they have been trying to get this on the ballot for years, getting more and more signatures each time, though he knows it won’t likely pass. Supporters call the proposal the PEACE Act, short for People for the Elimination of Animal Cruelty Exemptions.

China’s carrier program is accelerating fast, with the Fujian already in sea trials and reporting suggesting a fourth “supercarrier” could follow. -The Fujian’s flat-deck design and electromagnetic catapult approach resemble the U.S. Ford-class, raising concern about how quickly Beijing is closing the capability gap in launch efficiency and sustained sortie generation. -Yet carriers matter only as much as their air wings. China’s current deck-aviation weakness—limited fifth-generation carrier fighters—still constrains near-term combat credibility against U.S. Navy F-35Cs and allied regional AirPower. -The danger is trajectory: mass production, improving catapults, and the J-35 could shift the balance sooner than expected. China is...

San Francisco just dropped a $300,000 sprinkler mandate on 9,800 condo owners — and that’s just the beginning. California homeowners are now facing a stack of unfunded mandates that could cost half a million dollars per property. No vote. No public funding. No way out. In this video I expose how a failed San Francisco politician got a $300,000 per unit fire sprinkler retrofit mandate passed after it was defeated TWICE — by burying it in a routine fire code update. I reveal why the sprinkler fitters union is blocking repeal, how the national plumbers union is pushing this mandate...

BRACKETTVILLE, Texas—The chaos caused by millions of illegal immigrants flooding across the southwest border under the Biden administration left scars on this border town. The constant high-speed chases, buzzing helicopters, screaming emergency sirens, hurried school lockdowns, torn barbed-wire fences, and decomposing bodies on ranches and along the Rio Grande all took their toll on Texas towns near the Mexican border. The border crisis drained resources and changed the lifestyle of Brackettville, a little town with two traffic light intersections in Kinney County. Residents of the county and beyond said the madness stopped almost overnight after President Donald Trump took office....

I haven't posted in a long time, so I ask for some slack in this case if I am not correct. What I'm looking for is a straight-forward database application for employee photos that someone could access from a phone or computer. Type in a name or even a part of one and get corresponding employee photos is all that needs to happen. The current system is really old and none of us at my office are SQL people. A few times when updating photos and names, the application would generate errors a DB type would understand. Following the instructions...

On Monday’s CNN This Morning, the “Group Chat” sounded less like analysis and more like a Democratic messaging session. Discussing Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s claim that the SAVE Act is “Jim Crow 2.0,” CNN senior reporter Zach Wolf wasn’t troubled by the incendiary historical comparison. Instead, he fretted that Democratic Senator John Fetterman had gone “off message” by refusing to echo it. Is the CNN motto still "Facts First"? Or is it "Keeping the Democrats On Message"? Fetterman said: “I would never refer to the SAVE Act as Jim Crow 2.0 I don't call people names or imply that...

“But let’s not miss the fact that we have coordinated, well-funded, and I think insurgencies or terrorist organizations, however you want to call it, literally trying to prevent legal laws from being enforced in the United States.”U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Rodney Scott testifying before Congress on February 10, 2026. The man speaks truth. The mainstream media continues to push the narrative that all we are seeing are “peaceful protests”. "The South Carolina GOP senator is using golf, good humor and frequent White House visits to try to influence foreign policy and keep Trump close as he faces a primary challenge.I’m his north star,” Graham told NBC News in an interview this week, a bold remark few in his party would dare make. “We disagree, but he knows where I am coming from. He sees me helping him as much as anybody in the Senate.” ADVERTISING Late last month, Graham temporarily blocked a $1.2 trillion deal to avert a government shutdown. Asked by reporters why he would block something that...

President Trump sent Tom Homan to Minneapolis to declare victory and go home, and so he has. Trump’s border czar announced the end of the ICE surge that had roiled the city and our national politics. Homan says ICE is getting more cooperation from county jails in handing over incarcerated illegal aliens, and immigration authorities have detained many of the illegal immigrants they had been targeting. It’s not clear how extensive the supposed new cooperation is, but Homan certainly forged a better relationship with state and city officials. The big story here is that semiorganized resistance on the streets, with...
