Petition to ban hunting in Oregon gains traction for November ballot

A petition to ban hunting in Oregon is picking up steam. Animal rights advocates are fighting to change the law in Oregon, including banning most hunting, fishing and animal research.

One of the people leading the charge of getting this petition out there says they have been trying to get this on the ballot for years, getting more and more signatures each time, though he knows it won’t likely pass.

Supporters call the proposal the PEACE Act, short for People for the Elimination of Animal Cruelty Exemptions.

"If passed, it would change the current Oregon animal cruelty laws, which currently protect pets such as dogs and cats, and would expand coverage to wild animals, livestock and animals used in research. Exemptions would be made for veterinarians and for self-defense."

I assume it would be the animals given leave to defend themselves from their own kind if need be. No sheep need face trial for kicking a feral dog.

I guess all those salmon-fishing Indians are gonna be s-o-l once again. Liberals are so compassionate, they care more about animals than Native Americans.

“...would expand coverage to wild animals, livestock and animals used in research.”

How about ICE agents?

A liberal dystopia continues, where animals are more important than humans. Meanwhile, they allow for abortion through all nine mos. of pregnancy, assisted euthanasia, a lot of drugs in other states that are illegal are legal in Oregon, etc. What a great society with long-term stability are they making...not. Pathetic. Sadly, the eastern part of the state is normal, similar to California and Washington. Says a lot about coastal mindset, so it seems. Must be something in the Pacific air....lol.

So, no more steaks in Oregon? Who would ever want to live there?

Belden squirrels are a nuisance. Plenty need to be shot. Lots of fun.

So not only could you not hunt, if you have livestock, you won’t be able to slaughter them.

This stroke of genius is right up there with California not doing prescription burns.

Liberals and their stupid ass virtue signaling does nothing but turn things to shit.

If this passes I predict bear attacks will skyrocket.

In Michigan, the numbers for deer hunting continue to drop every year. It’s an alarming trend for traditionalists.

No, the Dims will allow the Injuns to do what they want with animals and plants and land. The Dims just block Injuns from making money mining uranium because they want us to keep buying it from Russia (as per Hillary's Uranium One). Keep in mind that when we read that we buy uranium from Canada, that's Rosatam, a Russia company.

So are deer if there is no population control.

Ergo, support your right to arm bears. Or have bare arms. Etc.

It is so much more humane to have deer die of starvation rather than be shot by a hunter.

Then watch the wildlife populations explode. The usual unintended consequences will happen.
When deer and bear are wandering around in their neighborhoods a light might go on.
Not to mention the diseases that crop up when herds are not culled.
