Live Science reports that a temple discovered in western Turkey may have been built by the Phrygians some 2,700 years ago. The temple is thought to have been dedicated to the Phrygian mother goddess known as Materan, Matar, and Cybele. Bilge Yılmaz Kolancı of Pamukkale University explained that the site features a cave with twin rock idols carved into the rock face between two structures. Libation bowls and drainage channels were also unearthed, she added. To read about another site in the region that the Phrygians once controlled, go to "Who Is That Masked God?"

Rogers Centre drone policy states the stadium is in Billy Bishop Airport's no-fly zoneToronto police say they’ve charged seven more people for illegally flying drones over Rogers Centre during the Blue Jays post-season baseball games. Police say earlier this week the Toronto Emergency Management and Public Order Unit used “specialized drone technology” to identify and intercept seven unauthorized drone flights over and around the baseball stadium during games on Sunday and Monday. They say eight charges were laid against seven people for operating drones contrary to the Canadian Aviation Regulations and for violating federally designated no-fly zones. The Rogers Centre...

Berry’s quick-thinking saved the kitten’s life and later earned him national recognition as the ASPCA’s “Kid of the Year” for 2025.

The United States has informed the guarantor nations of the Gaza peace agreement of credible reports indicating an imminent ceasefire violation by Hamas against the people of Gaza. This planned attack against Palestinian civilians would constitute a direct and grave violation of the ceasefire agreement and undermine the significant progress achieved through mediation efforts. The guarantors demand Hamas uphold its obligations under the ceasefire terms. Should Hamas proceed with this attack, measures will be taken to protect the people of Gaza and preserve the integrity of the ceasefire. The United States and the other guarantors remain resolute in our commitment...

GAFCON, a movement of conservative, biblically orthodox Anglicans, has announced that it will no longer recognize the authority of the Archbishop of Canterbury. It has also instructed provinces to remove any reference to being in communion with the See of Canterbury and the Church of England. In what is being viewed as a major split in the Anglican Communion and a snub to the Church of England, the GAFCON primates issued a statement saying the Anglican Communion will be “reordered” and that provinces of the Global Anglican Communion will not take part in meetings called by the Archbishop of Canterbury....

SAN DIEGO (Border Report) — States throughout the U.S. have revoked driving privileges for 5,500 commercial truck drivers who failed basic English assessments while working north of the border, according to Israel Delgado Vallejo, vice president of Mexico’s Northwest Chamber of Freight Transporters. “So far, we’ve registered 5,500 out of service and suspended licenses, we are seeing harder and more stringent enforcement,” Delgado Vallejo said. Six months ago, President Trump issued an executive order reinstituting an existing law that mandates commercial truck drivers must speak and understand enough English to read road signs and interact with law enforcement. Delgado Vallejo...

Your daily hot cocoa might do more than warm you up—it could also prevent heart disease and the inflammation that drives it, according to a recent study. As we get older, our bodies become more inflamed, increasing our risks of developing chronic disease and dying. A large-scale study tracked people who took daily cocoa supplements for two years and found that body-wide inflammation stayed steady instead of rising—with the strongest effects in those who had higher inflammation at baseline. In the Cocoa Supplement and Multivitamin Outcomes Study (COSMOS) trial, daily cocoa extract supplements were linked to a 27 percent lower...

Nio’s Singapore-listed shares plunged on the news on Oct 16, falling as much as 13.8 per cent to US$6. The stock clawed back some ground to trade 8.1 per cent down at US$6.40 as at 2.48pm. Former Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron is consistently leading in GOP primary polling for the state’s 2026 Senate election despite raising far less than his other Republican opponents. Rep. Andy Barr (R-KY) is leading the pack in fundraising, raising over $1.3 million in the third quarter. Businessman Nate Morris trailed Barr, bringing in over $1.006 million in the reporting period. Cameron reported $411,224 in total contributions for the third quarter, raising less than half of what Morris reported and less than a third of what Barr reported. Cameron’s financial woes don’t seem to have significantly affected the limited polling of...

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) was on point when he discussed why the Democratic Party can’t win the votes of White men. During an appearance on Tara Palmeri’s show, Fetterman suggested there might not be a way for Democrats to win among this demographic. "How do Democrats win back white men like yourself?” Palmeri asked. Fetterman replied, “I don’t know. And truthfully, I’m not sure. I’m not sure if that’s possible, to be honest.” The senator continued: “I think that’s been seriously eroding for a while. And in some cases, in the conversations I’ve had, a lot of people don’t even...

Long read. Worth it. nose rings have become a definitive tell… One particular trend that has gone viral and has feminists enraged is “nose ring theory,” also known as “septum ring theory.” The trend is based on an observable stereotype: The idea that many crazed feminists on social media tend to have the exact same physical characteristics. It’s the blue hair, the face, neck and full body tattoos, the high cut bangs and, of course, they almost always seem to have septum rings in their noses. Men have noticed the similarities and are now avoiding any woman with these features....

Fox News exclusively embedded with the Austin Police Department as part of a nationwide human trafficking operation targeting illicit Chinese massage parlors. A loudspeaker blared, "Austin Police! Search warrant! Come out with your hands up," as detectives from the Human Trafficking Division swept one illegal parlor. Inside, a sign advertised spa services, and another ironically warned against human trafficking. However, it didn’t take long to sense there was something much darker going on. The rooms were disheveled with mattresses, towels and shower beds. Simultaneously, officers raided a second illicit massage parlor minutes away, where a woman was found sleeping and...

No Kings, No Secrets The Dark Money Behind America’s “Grassroots” Protests This weekend, millions are expected to flood the streets chanting “No Kings, No Secrets” in what’s being sold as a grassroots rebellion against authoritarianism. But peel back the curtain, and you’ll find a different story: one of dark money elite networks and carefully coordinated narratives. This isn’t the voice of the people; it’s a well-funded operation designed to shape perceptions and control outcomes. Amid the orchestrated chants of No Kings No Secrets there is zero excitement for this demonic cause. What is presented as a grassroots movement is instead...

HOW TO SPEND THE DASH I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. he referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning....to the end. He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered the most of all was the dash between those years. For the dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth...... and now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much...

WASHINGTON (AP) — Large crowds of protesters marched and rallied in cities across the U.S. Saturday for “ No Kings ” demonstrations decrying what participants see as the government’s swift drift into authoritarianism under President Donald Trump. People carrying signs with slogans such as “Nothing is more patriotic than protesting” or “Resist Fascism” packed into New York City’s Times Square and rallied by the thousands in parks in Boston, Atlanta and Chicago. Demonstrators marched through Washington and downtown Los Angeles and picketed outside capitols in several Republican-led states, a courthouse in Billings, Montana, and at hundreds of smaller public spaces....

Although the art of hammer dulcimer playing once appeared to be dying, a revival of interest has been slowly spreading in recent years. People unfamiliar with the dulcimer are pleasantly surprised by its clear, ringing tone and the animated dance of the player’s hands.
