[snip] To begin CNN This Morning's discussion of the anti-ICE riots, host Audie Cornish called on Karen Attiah, the creator and leader of the Resistance Summer School. As per its website, the school is: A "structure for radical learning . . . Students will explore how colonial legacies and racial hierarchies shape global politics, diplomacy, conflict, and coverage âand how media systems often reinforce (or resist) these power structures." Take a look below at the school's insignia featuring a clenched fist, a traditional socialist symbol. And it adopts as its motto, "A Luta Continua" [The Struggle Continues.] That was the...

Abstract We apply a newly developed attitude network-modelling technique (Response-Item Network, or ResIN) to study attitudeâidentity relationships in the context of hotâbutton issues that polarize the current US-American electorate. The properties of the networkâmethod allow us to simultaneously depict differences in the structural organization of attitudes between groups and to explore the relevance of organized attitudeâsystems for group identity management. Individuals based on a sample of US-American crowd workers (N = 396) and the representative 2020 ANES data set (N = 8280), we model an attitude network with two conflictive partisan belief-systems. In the first step, we demonstrate that the...

Milwaukee Judge Hannah Duganâs case will play out in the weeks and months to come â sheâs pleaded not guilty to obstructing the arrest of an undocumented immigrant â but arresting judges and public officials isnât something to undertake lightly. Critics warned of the chilling effect it could lead to and the precedent it would set. Virtually nothing in the past seven weeks will have tempered those fears. The fervor to arrest public officials who...

IDF Spokesman Effie Defrin on Friday morning told a press conference that Iran had launched over 100 drones toward Israel in recent hours. He also noted that over 200 IDF aircraft have attacked over 100 targets in Iran with over 330 munitions. He did not say when they would reach Israel, but in April 2025, it took such drones several hours. *** It was unclear whether Israel had any such alliance this time, given that it launched a preemptive strike, and the other two times it was attacked by Iran first.

These days, it seems that a mysterious group called âthe CBOâ rules the world. Or at least Washington. Unfortunately, theyâre not very good at predicting things and their bad calls can lead to bad policy results. The Congressional Budget Office and the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) predict what will happen with spending, tax revenues and deficits from new bills and congressional budgets. They have made headlines of late with their absurd warning that the Trump tax bill to extend the 2017 tax cuts and other reforms, like eliminating taxes on tips, would add some $4.6 trillion to the debt...

Gavin Newsom (D) by Friday afternoon. The Trump administration in urging the 9th Circuit to immediately intervene called the judgeâs order âunprecedentedâ and an âextraordinary intrusionâ into Trumpâs authority.

Pro Tip, Senator Klobuchar: if you want to give people the impression that Donald Trump and the Republicans are looking to starve women and children out of spite, it's better not to put that message out there by dragging out a morbidly obese public employee as the face of your cause.
