SummaryTrump order targeted children of certain immigrants Three judges issued orders blocking policy nationwide Administration challenges nationwide injunctions WASHINGTON, May 15 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court wrestled on Thursday over Donald Trump's attempt to broadly enforce his executive order to restrict birthright citizenship, a move that would affect thousands of babies born each year as the Republican president seeks a major shift in how the U.S. Constitution has long been understood. The court's conservative justices, who hold a 6-3 majority, seemed willing to limit the ability of lower courts to issue nationwide, or "universal," injunctions, as federal judges in Maryland,...

The federal authorities want to know who decapitated a dolphin that had been stranded on an island off the coast of North Carolina last month, and they are offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information that could help them find out. The 8-foot long bottlenose dolphin was found dead on Lea-Hutaff Island, N.C., on April 15, according to a statement from the Office of Law Enforcement of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The reward notice included a photo of the dolphin, which was missing its head, as it lay on the shore of the remote, undeveloped barrier...

A key committee vote for the Republican package full of President Trump’s legislative priorities scheduled for Friday could be punted to next week as hardliners on the panel threaten to block the legislation. The possible delay comes after a wave of hardliners on the panel — Reps. Chip Roy (R-Texas), Ralph Norman (R-S.C.), and Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.) — said they planned to vote against advancing the GOP’s megabill in its current form in a meeting scheduled for Friday.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a radio failure at the Denver Air Traffic Control Center, which covers approximately 285,000 square miles of airspace covering parts of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana. The outage temporarily affected communications Monday. According to the FAA, both transmitters that cover a segment of airspace went down around 1:50 p.m., causing a loss of communications to part of the Denver Air Route Traffic Control Center for about 90 seconds. The FAA said the outage affected some flights approaching Denver International Airport. They said the controllers used another frequency...

The list is growing of judges who moonlight as the President of the United States. These ‘judges’ have reversed executive orders, prevented the firing of federal employees, even ordered deported gang members returned to the United States. No one should be surprised at this judicial insurgency. For decades Democrats have “judge shopped” to get their case before a “friendly” judge. The openly corrupt part of this tactic is having ‘friendly’ not impartial judges. But the crazy stuff eventually got overturned and the system worked. So how did we get to this place where the system no longer works?Well for anyone...

I have been saying this for a while now, but I think the Federal Reserve is fighting a mythical “boogeyman” that doesn’t exist. According to Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, the Fed wants “greater confidence” that inflation is cooling. And not just in headline numbers, but in core services and housing, where inflation has remained stubbornly sticky. So, the Fed’s decision to hold key interest rates steady last week was no surprise. And it wasn’t a shock either to learn that they are still in “wait-and-see” mode. But as I mentioned in a Market 360 article last week, I think they’re...

WASHINGTON, D.C. (7News) — The Washington Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) announced Thursday that it arrested 17 people in connection with firearms and narcotics trafficking. The investigation spanned over five states, including D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Texas. 122 firearms and 10,000 fentanyl pills are now off the streets and in the hands of authorities as a result of the operation. The 17 people arrested were allegedly in the U.S. illegally, according to the ATF. "They will be in the process of being deported back to the country where they were originally from...

In a startling coincidence, murder rates have plummeted in Denver and Aurora, Colorado, in the first quarter of 2025. I'm sure that correlation doesn't equal causation here, but some bigots who clearly hate brown people have made the insane suggestion that deporting gang members who terrorized residents in these cities might have had something to do with it. Homicides Drop Sharply in Colorado Cities Following ICE Deportations of Tren de Aragua Gang Members https://t.co/8AouPWDQQQ— Sara A. Carter (@SaraCarterDC) May 15, 2025Surely deporting these future doctors, lawyers, and people destined to cure cancer must have nothing to do with this. Right?📉...

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he would not attend talks with Russia on Friday and said he does not expect a breakthrough in the negotiations over the war in Ukraine until Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin meet “face to face”, APA reports citing CNN. “We don’t have high expectations of what will happen tomorrow,” Rubio said in a press gaggle in Antalya, Turkey, but said he hoped to be proven wrong. On Thursday's edition of CNN This Morning, host Audie Cornish interviewed Marc Morial, head of the National Urban League, regarding its publication of a report on the fifth anniversary of the death of George Floyd. Morial claimed that "the loud voices that you hear in opposition [to DEI] are not representative of the majority of the American people."In response, Cornish sympathetically observed: "But they are in control right now in a lot of ways.Get the rest of the story and view the video here.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday said a meeting between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladmir Putin is the only way to end the war in Ukraine. Rubio, who also serves as national security adviser, said Trump has grown impatient and wants the three-year war to end, according to The Hill. "The only way to have a breakthrough between President Trump and Putin," Rubio told reporters, adding that nothing productive will happen until the two sides engage. Trump said he wasn't surprised Putin did not want to attend the talks, despite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy pushing him to...

The entire super secret, 1100+ page report has been leaked to numerous media sources in Germany. I can now report the bombshell findings of months of exhaustive investigative research, snooping, and spying by the finest agents available in the German intelligence community and democracy protection racket. The repercussions of this incendiary, voluminous tome could be characterized as... I'm not kidding. The German police state and ruling junta have completely beclowned themselves. The document produced by the constitutional protection agency (BfV) and used as justification for declaring the populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party a 'right-wing extremist' group - which enabled...

NEW YORK, NY — According to sources, a group of Episcopalian parishioners has found a strange old book hidden underneath one of their church's pews. The book, labeled "Holy Bible" on the front of it, was apparently unknown and completely foreign to everyone at the church, leaving leaders in fear that the church may have been infiltrated by right-wing religious extremists. "It contained strange text and verses we had never seen before," said Presiding Bishop Sean Rowe. "Just a cursory glance through this ‘Bible' was troubling. It appears to speak of an almighty deity none of us are familiar with...

The Supreme Court heard oral argument on Thursday in three (consolidated) cases involving challenges to President Donald Trump's executive order regarding birthright citizenship. I listened to the argument and have a few takeaways that I'll share here, but there are some preliminary matters to address before I do that.First, as explained previously, today's argument was not about the merits of the executive order (though they necessarily were discussed to a degree), nor was it about the merits of nationwide or universal injunctions in all contexts. Second, even the most learned legal scholars (which I most assuredly am not) will tell...

A 33-year-old Texas mother has been charged after being accused by authorities of purchasing ammunition and tactical gear for her son’s planned “mass targeted violence” at his middle school. Her son’s age and name have not been disclosed by authorities — though middle school age typically ranges from 11 to 14 years old. According to an affidavit obtained by ABC News, Ashley Pardo, 33, was charged with “aiding in the commission of terrorism” after purportedly providing ammunition and tactical gear to her son, who is also accused of planning some kind of “mass targeted violence” at Rhodes Middle School in...

The Trump administration gave Iran a proposal for a nuclear deal during the fourth round of negotiations on Sunday, a U.S. official and two other sources with direct knowledge tell Axios. Why it matters: It was the first time since the nuclear talks started in early April that White House envoy Steve Witkoff presented a written proposal to the Iranians.Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi took the proposal back to Tehran for consultations with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, President Masoud Pezeshkian and other top officials.President Trump said Tuesday in Saudi Arabia that he'd presented "an olive branch" to the Iranians but...

WASHINGTON, D.C. — As debate raged over the Trump administration granting refugee status to a group of South African farmers fleeing threats to their lives in their home nation, congressional Democrats proposed building a wall to keep white immigrants out of the country. Sources said the Democrats had grown significantly more concerned about the state of immigration in the United States after learning that the South African refugees were, in fact, white. "We don't know who these people are," said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. "The United States simply cannot afford to serve as the catch-all immigration destination for the...

Sotheby's famed auction room was filled with gasps followed by shocked silence after an iconic statue priced far too ambitiously failed to sell at auction. Billionaires descended on the New York City event on Tuesday in the hope of snagging a masterpiece created by the likes of Picasso, Monet or Matisse. But it was Alberto Giacometti's 1955 bronze bust, called Grand tête mince, that was billed as the auction's centerpiece by experts who gave it a $70 million guide price.

RFK Jr. just walked into Congress and took down his biggest critics in one fell swoop. This was a masterclass.A dentist congressman came out swinging on fluoride. By the time Kennedy finished, he realized he picked the wrong fight. Then, a Democrat tried to accuse Kennedy of politicizing children’s health—but he got emotional, broke through the noise, and completely flipped the script on her.If you watch one thing today, make it this. Kennedy just took the MAHA agenda to the next level.Right out of the gate in his first major congressional hearing as HHS Secretary, Kennedy laid out a sweeping plan to...
