WASHINGTON, D.C. — As debate raged over the Trump administration granting refugee status to a group of South African farmers fleeing threats to their lives in their home nation, congressional Democrats proposed building a wall to keep white immigrants out of the country.
Sources said the Democrats had grown significantly more concerned about the state of immigration in the United States after learning that the South African refugees were, in fact, white.
"We don't know who these people are," said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. "The United States simply cannot afford to serve as the catch-all immigration destination for the entire world. For countries of brown-skinned people, yes, but for white people? That's too much to ask. There have also been reports that these South African ‘farmers' were seen waving American flags, which is a tell-tale sign of a dangerous, extremist ideology. To keep our country safe, we have a duty to build a wall to protect our people."
Other Democrat officials warned of the slippery slope presented by allowing white immigrants into the country. "What's next? Letting in Irish people? British? Australians? Where does it end?" asked Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi. "The next thing you know, our entire country will be filled with these white foreigners. That would destroy all the work we've spent decades doing to fill the country with non-white immigrants."
At publishing time, Democrats had also introduced legislation that would make it illegal for anyone who speaks English to enter the United States.

The administrations actions were humanitarian for sure.
But it certainly looks like classic Trump trolling to make the Democrats’ heads explode.
This is not humor.
It’s a factual observation.
It already exists. Its just a virtual barrier that has been there for decades and not a physical one...
The Bee might have to change its whole focus because their satire is becoming reality in the Democrat Party!
Two first prize bee articles today. Best of year first prizes both.
agreed
Yeah, I was pretty happy about that!
Again, The Bee is not so far off from reality.
Yeah but, Ted Kennedy built it decades ago.
