WASHINGTON, May 16 (Reuters) - The Trump administration is working on a plan to permanently relocate as much as one million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Libya, NBC News reported on Friday, citing five people with knowledge of the matter.
Citing two people with direct knowledge and a former U.S. official, NBC also reported that the plan is under serious enough consideration that the U.S. has discussed it with Libya's leadership. In exchange for resettling the Palestinians, the administration would release to Libya billions of dollars of funds the U.S. froze more than a decade ago, according to NBC and citing the same three people.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
Don’t know about Libya, think it’s still 3rd worldish (?) — but all the footage I’ve seen in the oil-rich places Trump visited this week look far better off infrastructurally and architecturally than our decaying cities. Super modern.
Tunisia is poorer but looks pretty in pictures has good olive oil. Wonder why not there.
Wonderful idea. Export the Palestians from Gaza and their teorrist ideology with them. Just what the Libyan’s need.
Libya is a slave market, so they might be sold off if they prove to be a problem.
wtf are we moving them!!?? I guess the meals on wheels hasn’t stopped after all...
Obama and Hillary pretty well messed over Libya with what they did to Khadaffey, might as well totally mess the place over by dumping the Palis there.
Heck, most of the old Palestinian terrorists trained there in their youth, so they’re already familiar with it.
Dancing dudes ...lol
Is the promise of being able to steal a billion dollars enough incentive to allow a million Palestinians into your country? I don’t think that works with anyone’s math.
Yikes. Well it’s not on the top of my list…maybe Turkey. Not Arab nation but still in that region-ish:
Grew up on the fairy tale Aladdin and would love to walk through a bazaar!
The Kenyan gave $200 million for the Bahamas to take in 10 Uyghurs. Libya is a $hithole. No Khadafy to stand up to the US so the on-the-take rulers will disperse them amongst the general population the same way Biden dumped 20 million illegals on us.
Sowing Arab Spring 2.0
The Tunisians kicked the PLO and Yasser Arafat out in 1994. Coincidentally Arafat’s exile ended at the close of the 1994 Oslo Accords.
Libya?
That will turn Libya into a terrorist state.
Send em to Yemen, when they whack out there, just blow them up.
Libya could definitely use the money, and it is very sparsely populated - only 7 1/2 Million people, in the fourth largest country in Africa and the sixteenth largest in the world. They have a lot of nice undeveloped land along the Mediterranean Coast, with a beautiful climate, and they are Arabic speaking Sunni Muslims.
The Palestinians are a mixed bag. They broadly have a long history of destabilizing any Country that takes them in, like Syria, Lebanon or Jordan. if they decisively take one side in the civil war in Libya, they could be decisive, or could lead to more widespread chaos and destruction.
But Palestinians are also relatively well educated and urbane, compared to Desert Arabs, or North African Arabs generally. A million such immigrants would be a very big boost to Libya’s non-oil economy.
Such a big deal, should probably address the whole package, of settling the civil war in Libya, pushing out Russian influence, instituting enough additional Intelligence and Law Enforcement to police the new immigrants and restrain their violent gangs and terrorist groups, as well as the country’s relations with Egypt (perhaps reducing Egypt’s relationship with Russia as well).
