A key committee vote for the Republican package full of President Trump’s legislative priorities scheduled for Friday could be punted to next week as hardliners on the panel threaten to block the legislation.

The possible delay comes after a wave of hardliners on the panel — Reps. Chip Roy (R-Texas), Ralph Norman (R-S.C.), and Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.) — said they planned to vote against advancing the GOP’s megabill in its current form in a meeting scheduled for Friday.

Self serving rinos and likely anti trumper chip roy blocking any movement..

Everyone wants their own pork in the bill, but don't want any cuts to their money making special interest

They'll run out of time, and then push through another continuing resolution, while pretending to really come up with a budget...... next time....

It is another pork filled bill. It is time to cut spending not fatten it. I love Trump but it is time to lower the deficit.

Some nut-ball(s) on our side imagine themselves great
statement. Great statesmen get things done. They have
accomplishments.

It’s okay for Conservatism to have great accomplishments
too. Really...

I’ve said it before, and I will say it again: DJT, forget the Republican Party. Call for the convention of a new party and forget the Republicans just as the Republicans eliminated the Whigs and Know-Nothings in the 1850s. To Hell with the Chip Roys, the Lindsay Grahams, the aging bitches, the southerners that give only lip service to conservative philosophy. If you start a new party America will certainly benefit.

Hard to blame these guys for insisting on accurate math.

This is just the House. The BIG obstacle they face is trying to help the Senate. If they put imaginary numbers in, the Senate Parliamentarian will hammer it closed and that would mean it does not qualify for Reconciliation.

Regardless of the details, this is math causing this upheaval. Not Never Trumperism

Always the Republicans backstabbing us.

Chip Roy is crazy.

I’m starting to believe they are all worse than Dems.

These are the same useless morons that created this mess. Why do we need DOGE to do THEIR JOBS?

I say let ot all burn. Can’t be saved with these jerks in Congress.

I’m finished with ALL Republicans. 48 years of my support for what?

The problem is every wheel wants greasing. Grease one and you have to grease them all. This is how billions get spent on studying things like the sex habits of snails in Somalia. That’s also why the DOGE thing will have one hell of a time eliminating port because most of it was part of a bill and put there by to stop wheel from squeaking.

Yes, it’s worth trying but politics is politics and it’s ugly. Virtually nothing works like we learned in seventh grade civics.

These idiots can’t do math. 2 + 2 is 5 to them.

And they can’t read. Thousand page bills shoved down our throats because the hundreds of millions of dollars on staffers cthat can’t read.

They created this crap.

And they decided to keep double taxing senior citizens. Free money for everyone on earth, Ukes, Gaza, Syrians, the BBC, Chinese labs, etc. They couldn’t find the backbone to codify the DOGE waste fraud and abuse discoveries.

But living without the tax from retirees? That’s just a freakin’ bridge too far for Congress. Especially since Trump wanted it.

Those 15-20 House seats the rats stole after the election look pretty big now. Maybe this will make them think about that now.

With any due respect, Chip Roy (and any other opposing this bill based on fairness and reality) is not crazy. He is espousing exactly what this country needs. There is no reason that Texas, and other no or lower tax states, should be subsidizing the liberal extravagance of states like New York, New, Jersey, Massachusetts, and California. If taxes were lower in those states, there would be no need for a SALT deduction of any size. Those states have had the power since 2017 to reduce state taxes and liberal projects. To me that is selfish and wanting the selfishness to be spread to others.

I do know this - If the 2017 Tax Act is not extended , there will be zero SALT deduction, and none of the tax relief obtained in 2017. In fact, it will have the effect of a massive income tax increase for everyone. It is time to suck it up and quit trying to grab for personal benefit.

Chip Roy speaks truth. He knows the inequity of the current system, and the budget ravages of 40 years.

Just sayin’

Gwjack

P.S. I am not in a zero tax state.

“If you start a new party America will certainly benefit.”

************

A real conservative party that actually stands for something would attract million of people who are fed up with the excuses and backstabbing. A new party would quickly leave the GOP a discarded hollowed out shell, which is what it is anyway.

Conservative states, even those with no income tax like mine, also have high property taxes.

They dont need the money. It’s a deduction, not a credit.

I dont know. Maybe quit spending on crap?

The federal government spends too much on things that aren’t the business of the feds.

They are dying on stupid hills like the Dems.
