There are Kurds in Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and parts of Russia.
Ahwazi are trying to hang on to their homeland of Khuzestan province in Iran, and also ex pats living in Kuwait. The Kuwaitis are kin to them.
In Israel, there are some Kurds, a few Samaritans, and Druze, as well as a few dozen Christian denominations. The Jews and the "Palestinians" are both subdivided along tribal lines, less and less important among Jews and more and more important among "Palestinians". The Arabs in Gaza speak Egyptian dialect, and the Arabs in Judah and Samaria speak mostly Syrian dialects. Israeli Arabs, I haven't figured out yet. But I'm working on it.
There are a few places where Aramaic is spoken--in Syria I think. I don't know how closely it resembles the Aramaic of 2000 years ago. Languages always change over time if they are in constant use.
(Fillintheblank)istan. Whats the story on the origins of “-istan”? Some Islamic reference I ‘spose?
Somaliland should be recognized as independent since it issues its own currency, government, and passports since the 90’s. Also it was once an independent country before it merged with the former Italian Somaliland. It is the only area around there that isn’t a complete disaster...

Btw Armenia is an economy. The locals call their land Hayastan or land of the people of Hayas.
And India under the Turco mongol rulers, who spoke Farsi, was called Hindustan. Though it’s own endonym is Bharatavarsha or land of the king Bharata
What would be the basis of a Baluchistan economy. Rugs?
Jewish and Christian Kurds use Aramaic as their lingua franca.
It’s still a sacred language among Jews, used in prayers and scholarly works, and also seeped in to Modern Hebrew. If I had to, I could carry on a conversation in it, I think.
They’re rioting in Africa. There’s strife in Iran.
There’s hurricanes in Florida
And Texas needs rain.
Ah. TY for the lesson. Cheers.
What about the whales?
If Alberta secedes, will it be Albertastan?
There’s a traffic jam in Harlem that’s backed up to Jackson Heights.
If Alberta secedes, it will probably become the Great State of Alberta. And we’ll need a new American Flag.
I do not necessarily favor this, but I do see it as a highly likely outcome.
It took a few years for Texas, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada and then California to join the Union. In the mean time what do you call them? Albertastanis or Albertans?
How would 51 stars work in a blue square? It’s a prime number.
Six rows of five stars and three rows of seven stars.
