A Pillar of Salt for Our AgeAlthough Father Marko Rupnik’s According to the Spirit sheds little light on Pope Francis’s spiritual theology, it is both valuable and concerning as the written testament of a controversial priest whose influence has been significant in the life of the universal Church.Pope Francis greets then-Jesuit Father Marko Rupnik during a private audience at the Vatican in this Jan. 3, 2022, file photo. Rupnik, whose mosaics decorate chapels in the Vatican, all over Europe, in the United States and Australia, is under restricted ministry after being accused of abusing adult nuns in Slovenia. In 1975, Father...

“All these things are connected. This is a challenging time. But we’re up to this challenge.” That was California Gov. Gavin Newsom back in 2020 when he was busy blaming “climate change” for the wildfires that erupted that year. “I quite literally have no patience for climate change deniers,” he said. Four years later, Newsom is again blaming “climate change” for the fires ravaging LosAngeles. But wait. If climate change really is to blame, why was California so obviously, so woefully, so inexcusably unprepared? Someone needs to ask Newsom why the state didn’t spend the last four years aggressively clearing...

Joe Biden’s administration has offered a mere $770 in “one-time payments” to individuals devastated by the catastrophic wildfires in Los Angeles. This paltry sum is a stark contrast to the billions of dollars being funneled overseas. This is a slap in the face to those who have lost homes, livelihoods, and loved ones. The Los Angeles wildfires have wreaked havoc, resulting in at least 24 deaths and the destruction of thousands of structures. Over 150,000 residents have been forced to evacuate, with entire neighborhoods reduced to ashes. ..... Snip..... Biden vowed that the federal government will cover 100% of disaster...

The minimum wage will increase in nearly half the states this year even as the federal wage floor remains stuck at $7.25 per hour. In many states, the minimum wage is automatically adjusted upward as inflation rises. But voters in several states, including deeply red ones such as Alaska and Missouri, chose in November to significantly increase their minimum wages this year. Michigan will see its minimum wage jump from $10.33 to $12.48 on Feb. 21 after the state Supreme Court concluded the legislature subverted residents when it adopted but then significantly amended voter-initiated ballot measures in 2018 to raise...

In three short days, Kern County, California, residents were provided a glimpse of what new interior immigration operations may look like in the coming weeks and months. According to a CBP employee, not authorized to speak to the media, the Border Patrol’s El Centro Sector initiated a targeted interior enforcement operation around the farming community of Bakersfield, California, that resulted in nearly 80 migrant arrests. The arrests included several sex offenders, some with existing criminal warrants and others involved in drug trafficking. The source told Breitbart Texas the action — “Operation Return to Sender” — was based on intelligence that...

It's been fun these past few months watching as a motley assortment of folks made their way to Mar-a-Lago to pay homage to President-elect Donald Trump, and it certainly had to be gratifying for Mr. Trump himself after years of being treated abominably by the media, big tech, a corrupt judicial system and various self-appointed mouthpieces for the left. The latest to beat a path to Palm Beach was Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), who made the trek to meet with Trump this past weekend. Nothing ruffles the feathers of the left and their media lapdogs more than the thought of...

The Greenland saga is still unfolding, and it's taking on the proportions of one of the epic Norse legends of old, with national leaders wrangling over a small (population-wise) land caught in the middle. The incoming President Trump seems to seriously want this to happen, and he has allies in Congress. In the latest, a U.S. Representative, Andy Ogles (R-TN) is sponsoring the "Make Greenland Great Again" Act to authorize the incoming president to begin negotiations with Denmark over the purchase.Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., is leading a bill to authorize Trump to enter negotiations with Denmark over purchasing Greenland, a...

There are a lot of people currently holding down jobs in the Biden administration that we would like to see gone. A new president is coming in a week, and as a new broom sweeps clean, soon-to-be President Trump's second term promises to sweep very clean indeed. One person we'll be glad to see gone is FBI Director Chris Wray, architect of the infamous Mar-a-Lago raid, when FBI agents rifled through the Trump's personal items, evidently expecting to find classified documents hidden among Melania's lingerie. Well, he's leaving now - and trying to spin his legacy as the unemployment line...

House Republicans are passing around a “menu” of more than $5 trillion in cuts they could use to bankroll President-elect Donald Trump’s top priorities this year, including tax cuts and border security. The early list of potential spending offsets obtained by POLITICO includes changes to Medicare and ending Biden administration climate programs, along with slashing welfare and “reimagining” the Affordable Care Act. Five people familiar with the document said those provisions are options to finance Republicans’ massive party-line reconciliation bill or other spending reform efforts, including those being spearheaded by the so-called Department of Government Efficiency. The people, granted anonymity...

Outgoing FBI Director Christopher Wray revealed during an interview on Sunday, a week before he steps down, that China has penetrated America’s water treatment plants, electric grid, and other critical civilian infrastructure, and is lying “in wait” for an opportunity to cyberattack at a time and place of its choosing. Asked on CBS’s 60 Minutes about Chinese penetration of U.S. cyber and infrastructure, Wray said China’s cyber program is the largest in the world and has stolen more of Americans’ personal and corporate data than every nation combined. Then, he added: But even beyond the cyber theft. There’s another part...

The Chinese government is considering a plan that would have Elon Musk acquire TikTok’s U.S. operations to keep the app from being effectively banned, Bloomberg News reported on Monday. The contingency plan is one of several options China is exploring as the U.S. Supreme Court determines whether to uphold a law that calls for China-based ByteDance to divest TikTok’s U.S. business by Jan. 19, the report said, citing anonymous sources. After that deadline, third-party Internet service providers would be penalized for supporting TikTok’s operations in the country. Under the plan, Musk would oversee both X, which he currently owns, and...

Just one week before President Trump’s inauguration, an alarming incident involving unauthorized drone activity over the White House has sparked security concerns. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) took to social media to share her firsthand account, revealing that her flight into Washington, D.C., had to be redirected as a result of the situation. “I just flew into DCA,” Greene posted. “Before landing, our pilot announced he had to fly in from another direction due to ‘unauthorized drone activity’ over the White House.” This incident occurred just hours after Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, in collaboration with district and federal authorities,...

Los Angeles Democratic Mayor Karen Bass has faced a number of criticisms over her leadership amid the wildfires destroying large portions of the city. ** The move came after more than $17 million in cuts the previous year. If Bass did not want to spend money on fighting fires in a state which lives under a constant threat of such disasters, then the question of what the city funded instead must be raised. The budget resolution for the 2024-2025 fiscal year, which said on the front cover that the document was submitted by Bass herself before being modified and adopted...

[Catholic Caucus] Exposed: The modernist errors at the heart of Francis’ Dilexit NosIn this article, I will examine more closely the theological and philosophical underpinnings of Dilexit Nos. This analysis will help us to understand why Francis has transformed the traditional devotion to the Sacred Heart into the new devotion of the 'Social Heart.'Those who hear these audacious, these sacrilegious assertions, are simply shocked! And yet, Venerable Brethren, these are not merely the foolish babblings of infidels. There are priests too, who say these things openly; and they boast that they are going to reform the Church by these ravings!...

When a Canadian child was rushed to the hospital after nearly drowning, his parents say doctors threatened to take the child off life support and suggested harvesting his organs. “We had 14 days to prepare his funeral and say goodbye to him,” Nicolas Tétrault, the boy’s father and a former Montreal politician, told The Federalist in English, his second language. “They were promoting to harvest the organs and give them away.” Tétrault said his two-year-old son, Arthur, drowned in October. An ambulance took Arthur to a hospital where doctors resuscitated him, and he was later transferred to Montreal Children’s Hospital,...
