A nice place to put a hospital. Market driven only. No federal/state rules. Sell their own insurance.
Only an idiot goes to an Tribal run casino.
Odds are bad enough on Las Vegas, but by law they have to return some percentage of the money to gamblers, Tribal Casinos don’t have such limitations.
Full disclosure, my Grandmother worked in a Las Vegas
casino, and Sometimes she gave good life advice.
Winstar has a variety of entertainment to attract people.
Sacred land for sure.
I haven’t driven the I-5 in many many years but we drove up to the Bay Area last summer. On the way back we saw a large structure being built in El Tajon pass near the grapevine. Looked like an office building which made no sense for that location. I wondered what it was so looked it up - gonna be a Hard Rock Casino. I guess it will draw people from northern LA county and southern Kern county, maybe East Ventura but that area is not so populated. But perhaps it’s more convenient even for people in Ojai? 2 hour drive for them but that may be reasonable, and the novelty of it will surely draw in regular game players.
I’d go up if they had a decent poker tournament. It’s about an hour or so (maybe 90 minutes) drive from where I live, and easier than driving into Commerce or Gardena. I don’t like casino games but do enjoy playing some poker. At least I did. Haven’t played much in the last 10 years though. Maybe I’m no longer as good as I remember ;-)
There’s only about 300 tribal members. Half of them are children.
They’re all about to become multi millionaires.
Absolutely, positively will happen.
I know a person 1/4 Pomo. He’s been keeping me up to date. He’s very upbeat and confident about the economic possibilities headed his way.
The tribe that runs Table Mountain Casino all get a $300,000 payout, annually.
I know about that situation because one of the tribal members tried to buy the resort that I work at in the summer.
He didn’t have the requisite experience to run a wilderness resort, therefore he failed to convince the USFS to approve the sale.

Visit a casino only for the entertainment value.
Like going to a movie, or a concert, or a ballgame, or a cruise.
Never go there thinking you are going to make money or get rich.
Iron Eyes Cody
He has popped again related to the Kalifornee fires, passed off again as a Indian in a FR thread.
It has been known for decades that he is Italian.
Whenever there’s a huge jackpot at an Indian casino, you know that it’s a computer malfunction and won’t pay.
Great places to go to see formerly great performers whose careers have trended downward. Couple of nice ones an hour and a half or so north of Dallas. Under an hour from the northern suburbs.
If we buy Greenland will that make the Inuit there Native Americans? We’ll know if they put up casinos. lol
I think that actor was actually Italian, lol.
They already are native Americans, as Greenland is part of North America.
While we're on the topic, I hate the term "native Americans" about as much as I hate the term "Indians". Neither correctly state what's meant. For example, I, a white man, was born in American. Thus I'm native American. But that's not what people think when they say "native American". I guess the best term would be "indigenous Americans".
