The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is reining in full-time remote work for many of its employees. With the Biden administration setting higher return-to-office targets, the CDC is now telling most teleworking employees to come into the office at least twice each two-week pay period. The CDC is still carving out exceptions and allowing employees in IT and data science positions to work remotely. Until recently, the CDC relied on remote work as a free, but effective, way to keep public health workers from looking for other jobs.

Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy remains in the spotlight after his headline-inducing campaign flamed out six months ago. Ramaswamy, 38, an author and businessman, will be speaking at the GOP convention in Milwaukee next week, two sources familiar tell National Review, reflecting his prominence among Republicans. A spokesperson for Ramaswamy declined to comment further. Last year, Ramaswmay burst onto the scene during the GOP presidential primary by making himself a constant fixture in the press and generating viral moments online. His penchant for debating and offering bold proposals to dramatically curtail the administrative state fueled his unexpected rise in...

Donald Trump will arrive at the 2024 Republican convention — his Republican convention, finally and completely, without the dissent of 2016 or the pandemic that overshadowed 2020 — closer than ever to a second term. But the likelihood of a Trump restoration has not yet brought clarity about what it would actually usher in.With Trump there is always the whipsaw, the forays toward normalcy and the reversion to a darker mean. Asked on the debate stage whether he would spend a second term seeking revenge on his political enemies, he promised that “my retribution is going to be success. We’re...

Republicans and many independents do not believe in the term “independent fact-checkers” when it comes to federal elections. Fact-checkers predictably defend Democrats from GOP “misinformation” in election season. Democrat extremism on abortion is one topic where the fact “checkers” are the fact manglers. Take Republican Senate candidate Tim Sheehy in Montana. On July 10, PolitiFact broke out the “False” flag for something Sheehy said in a June 9 debate: “Elective abortions up to and including the moment of birth. Healthy, 9-month-year-old baby killed at the moment of birth. That’s what Jon Tester and the Democrats have voted for.” You can...

I will do all that I can to see that President Biden is re-elected. Why? Despite my disagreements with him on particular issues, he has been the most effective president in the modern history of our country and is the strongest candidate to defeat Donald Trump — a demagogue and pathological liar. It’s time to learn a lesson from the progressive and centrist forces in France who, despite profound political differences, came together this week to soundly defeat right-wing extremism. I strongly disagree with Mr. Biden on the question of U.S. support for Israel’s horrific war against the Palestinian people....

On today's Morning Joe, MSNBC reporter Ali Vitali twice used the d-word, for "despair," to describe the mood of congressional Democrats over the dilemma as to whether Biden should remain the nominee or step aside. Vitali's very first words set the tone: "I haven't talked to anyone who's a [Dem] staffer, who is an operative, who's an elected, who doesn't say some form of this sentence, "I love Joe Biden, but." . . . There was just a real sense on the Hill yesterday of despair."Vitali sounded the d-word again in her closing comments: "There is such a sense of...

The largest Democratic super PAC is freezing $90 million in donations until President Joe Biden withdraws from the 2024 race. “Some major Democratic donors have told the largest pro-Biden super PAC, Future Forward, that roughly $90 million in pledged donations is now on hold if President Biden remains atop the ticket, according to two people who have been briefed on the conversations.

Catholics believe that if you make a perfect act of contrition before you die, you'll go to heaven. My question is, would this apply to Adolph Hitler?? And if yes, how do you think his presence would be perceived?

Congressman Andy Ogles (TN-05) introduced the Preventing Forced Abortions Act of 2024, which would prohibit federal courts from enforcing any part of a surrogacy contract that requires a surrogate mother to get an abortion. It would also prevent an intended parent from refusing to pay the surrogate mother any agreed compensation if she refuses to get an abortion at their request. “No woman should ever be forced to have an abortion. My legislation would protect women from this trauma by prohibiting federal courts from enforcing any clause in a surrogacy contract that requires a woman to get an abortion if...

Former US President Donald Trump on Friday called on current President Joe Biden to take a cognitive test, and offered to go along with him and take one as well. “Joe should immediately take a Cognitive Test, and I will go with him, and take one also. For the first time we'll be a team, and do it for the good of the Country....And from now on, all Presidential candidates should be mandated to take a Cognitive Test and Aptitude Test, regardless of their age!!!” Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social platform. Trump’s post follows a gaffe...

ABC 7 noted that, as of Sunday, July 7, 2024, Chicago, Illinois, was nearly at 1,200 shootings for 2024. We cannot stop thinking about the people who have been victimized by this crime.”

"The choice will be very very good, it's going to be a great vice president, meaning a person that can do a fantastic job as president because you always have to think of that first and then second, somebody that helps you get elected, and there is nothing wrong with that." — President Donald Trump. Reported by Alexis McAdams in an interview with President Trump. She's sharing this on Fox News Live today, around 2 p.m. Easter in the noon to 3 p.m. show.

The IDF on Saturday afternoon confirmed that Israeli security forces attempted to eliminate Hamas leader Mohammed Deif and the Khan Yunis Brigade commander. "In a joint IDF and ISA activity based on precise intelligence, the IDF's Southern Command and the IAF carried out a strike in an area where two senior Hamas terrorists and additional terrorists hid among civilians," the IDF confirmed. "The location of the strike was an open area surrounded by trees, several buildings, and sheds." Earlier, the IDF had said that the strike was in a "defined terrorist area" and that it was "waiting for the results...

I recall attending worship services where the worship leader and band members spent more time interacting with the crowd and showcasing their vocal range and guitar riffs than pointing us to the true object of Christian worship—Jesus Christ. It’s been a while, but it always had me thinking about how the line between a secular concert and a worship service has become perilously blurred in modern Evangelicalism. In this glittering arena of contemporary “worship,” I find myself increasingly disheartened by what I see. Smoke machines and light shows eclipse the pulpit making me question the true focus of this industry....

I believe the 2020 election was stolen. I am an engineer with many patents and successful product developments under my belt, and math is my natural talent. On the morning after election day, it was clear to me as it was to many that the statistical anomalies in the election results were way too significant and numerous to be simply dismissed. Convictions have happened when circumstantial evidence is overwhelming to exceed the threshold of “beyond any reasonable doubt.” I know this because I was a juror in a criminal trial recently, and we rightly found the defendant guilty based on...

The Matter of the Mississippi River. A not inconsequential percentage of Article V opponents, like those in the John Birch Society, identify as Anti-Federalists. They question the 1780s need for the vigorous government of our Constitution. Those familiar with the era know of Shays’ Rebellion. According to modern Anti-Federalists, Shays’ was the pretext for nationalists like George Washington and James Madison to justify the 1787 Philadelphia Convention. There were other problems facing the infant United States to which the Articles of Confederation proved inadequate. For instance, most of the great European and New World ports were closed to American shipping and...

German court has ruled that members of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party can be banned from owning firearms, citing the party’s right-wing “extremist” views. In its July 1 judgment, the 22nd Chamber of the Düsseldorf Administrative Court explained that the AfD members and affiliates engage in “anti-constitutional activities” and are presumed ineligible to own weapons under the country’s strict gun control laws. The decision, which can be appealed, comes after a married couple, both of whom are AfD members, filed a precedent-setting lawsuit against the revocation of their firearms licenses. The court ruled that the couple fulfilled the criteria of ineligibility...
