People often ask how illegal aliens can afford to pay for their journeys. Much of the funding comes from predictable sources: Relatives in the United States may send the money, the migrant may borrow it or even indenture himself to smuggling gangs and work off the debt once here. But a lot of the money comes from the American taxpayer. At every stage of a migrant’s journey, U.S. tax money smooths the way for people planning to enter and live in the United States illegally. Start with the United Nations. The United States gave all the U.N. agencies $18 billion...

There has been a load of harrumphing and indignation from the left over something Donald Trump said a few days ago when he said that he would not run to the aid of countries who did not meet their financial obligation to NATO. And one of the presidents of a big country stood up and said, well, sir, if we don't pay and we're attacked by Russia, will you protect us? I said, you didn't pay. You're delinquent. He said, yes, let's say that happened. No, I would not protect you. In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever...

Last year, John Durham, a special prosecutor for the Department of Justice (DOJ), concluded that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) should never have opened its investigation of alleged collusion by then-presidential candidate Donald J. Trump and Russia in late July of 2016. Now, multiple credible sources tell Public and Racket that the United States Intelligence Community (IC), including the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), illegally mobilized foreign intelligence agencies to target Trump advisors long before the summer of 2016. The new information fills many gaps in our understanding of the Russia collusion hoax and is supported by testimony already in...

A Florida sheriff's deputy is looking more like a cartoonish cop from "Reno 911!" on body cam footage of him mistaking an acorn hitting his patrol car for bullets ... prompting him to open fire on the vehicle. The video, which was just released, shows Okaloosa County deputy Jesse Hernandez on the job, detaining a guy back in November for allegedly sending threatening texts. Hernandez and his partner cuffed the man and put him in the back of their patrol car. All seemed to be going well, until Hernandez appeared to hear what he perceived as a shot being fired...

Apologies for any inexact language, I’m dictating from the road back from Ithaca. This afternoon a story came out on Public that I co-wrote with Michael Shellenberger and Alex Gutentag. Like our previous collaborations, this is a breaking news story, one that we worked on for many weeks. Without giving away the whole story, this first installment relies on a never-released classified report to describe a broad political espionage campaign that reportedly involved at least 26 Trump aides and associates. I strongly urge anyone interested in the topic to check out the article, titled “CIA Had Foreign Allies Spy On...

NASSER: Then we have to rearm and prepare again to defend our interests. West of the Jordan River is Jordanian land. We won't give that up. SPIEGEL: So that means... BALTIMORE, Saturday, Feb. 13. The Sun of this morning gives the following Particulars: "The express passenger train which left Camden-street depot on Thursday night for Wheeling and intermediate points, was captured by a company of Confederates when near Kearneysville Depot, about eight miles west of Harper's Ferry. It appears a switch had been turned, and the usual signal, the waving of a lighted lamp, made by the raiders, as the train approached. The signal caused the engineer to stop the engine. Since President Joe Biden took office in late January 2021, his Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has worked tirelessly to transform the United States-Mexico border into a European-style checkpoint where border crossers and illegal aliens are briefly detained before being released into American cities and towns. Biden’s policies have been highly effective in achieving the administration’s ultimate goal to massively inflate the foreign-born population to the largest ever recorded, standing at nearly 50 million today. The latest Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimate suggests that about 6.2 million border crossers and illegal aliens have been welcomed to the U.S. from January...

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California, Feb 14 (Reuters) - Bisecting a wide sandy beach, the Huntington Beach pier beckons tourists and surfers alike, creating a break in the waves that helps gives the city its nickname: Surf City, USA. It is a scene as laidback as the name would suggest - and a stark contrast to the political hostility spilling out of City Hall just a short drive inland.

On Tuesday’s broadcast of CNBC’s “Money Movers,” White House National Economic Council Director Lael Brainard reacted to the January CPI inflation report by stating that there are probably “some anomalies in today’s report” and that overall data on the economy is good. She also argued that grocery corporations are gouging. Brainard said, “You know what, I always look at the data picture. I don’t overly weight one data point. And the overall picture looks good. Growth above 3, unemployment below 4, and inflation down by two-thirds, now, of course, we want to keep working to lower costs for the American...
