Several Democrats on Capitol Hill scolded President Biden Thursday for launching airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen without congressional approval, arguing that the action was unconstitutional. “The President needs to come to Congress before launching a strike against the Houthis in Yemen and involving us in another middle east (sic) conflict,” Rep. Ro Khanna tweeted. “That is Article I of the Constitution. I will stand up for that regardless of whether a Democrat or Republican is in the White House.” “Section 2C of the War Powers Act is clear: POTUS may only introduce the US into hostilities after Congressional authorization...

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is now a cattle rancher, and he appears to be — in true billionaire fashion — taking it to the most opulent extreme possible. The tech executive owns $170 million of land on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, where he’s building a $100 million humongous, prepper-style compound. On Tuesday, in a Facebook post, Zuckerberg revealed more of his plans for the property: He will raise a herd of cattle on a homegrown, incredibly expensive diet. “My goal is to create some of the highest quality beef in the world,” the Facebook founder wrote. Then, he dropped...

Abortion stigma, aimed at abortion providers, has been prevalent in the medical community for many, many years. Traditionally, abortionists were looked down on and perceived as being bad doctors. Historical Opposition to Abortion In 2005, Frederick N Dyer wrote The Physicians’ Crusade Against Abortion, a book with quotes from many pro-life papers and articles written by doctors from the mid-1800s to the early 20th century. In the book, he discusses the history of the early pro-life movement, which was led by doctors. In the early 1800s, abortions before quickening (the time when a pregnant person can feel the baby move)...

A poll released Thursday of Iowa voters found that, among Republicans, former president Donald Trump maintains a dominant lead in the days ahead of the caucuses. But it is the first to find former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley opening up a clear lead over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. The Suffolk University poll of 500 likely caucus-goers finds 54 percent saying Trump is their first choice, followed by Haley at 20 percent, DeSantis at 13 percent and Vivek Ramaswamy at 6 percent. Polls in the state last month found DeSantis about even or ahead of Haley. Nearly all have found Trump...

If the Dolphins had beaten the Bills in Week 18, they'd be getting ready to play a wild-card game in the balmy weather of Miami, but due to their loss, they're now headed to Kansas City for what will likely be the coldest game in franchise history. When the Dolphins and Chiefs kick off on Saturday night, the temperature is expected to be around 3 degrees with a wind chill approaching -30, according to the National Weather Service. If that projection holds up, then this will become the coldest game that the Dolphins have ever played in, which isn't great...

The first-of-its-kind discovery, described as "a dream of many fiction writers," was a huge leap forward in understanding how specimens -- perhaps even humans -- can be preserved for generations. The bdelloid rotifer is awake – and we're going to need to buy some more birthday candles. For the past 24,000 years, the multicellular microorganism had been snoozing in Siberian permafrost, having become frozen in the Arctic ice right around the same time in history that humans first ventured into North America during the Upper Paleolithic era, otherwise known as the Late Stone Age. A bdelloid rotifer is a freshwater...

What’s the NCAA’s deal with Florida State? The NCAA just blasted the Seminoles program with some hefty penalties related to NIL and recruiting, according to a Thursday evening press release from the association. Becoming one of the first punishments in college football’s new era, an FSU assistant coach has been suspended for three games and also hit with a show cause penalty for two years. The Associated Press is reporting that the assistant coach is offensive coordinator Alex Atkins. This whole situation originates from a meeting that was held between a Florida State-associated booster and transfer player. The booster apparently...

Aurora Flight Sciences’ experimental active flow control aircraft is designed around a system that supplies pressurized air to effectors embedded in all flying surfaces, replacing traditional mechanical aerodynamic surfaces such as flaps and rudders. Photo: Aurora Flight Sciences ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and Boeing’s Aurora Flight Sciences are working in tandem to produce an aircraft that utilizes pressurized air rather than physical surfaces for control, a revolutionary design with the potential to reshape the future of aviation and military stealth technology. Television viewers were more interested in watching a Donald Trump town hall than the first head-to-head debate between Republican challengers Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis. The CNN debate, which aired live at the same time, was seen by just under 2.6 million, per Nielsen. […] Fox said Trump’s town hall got an additional 1.4 million viewers when reruns were aired at midnight Eastern time and in the middle of the night. …

We are once again being reminded why the once prosperous state of California is falling into a budgetary black hole and bleeding residents at an increasing rate. (Though to be fair, some of those losses are being made up for by an army of illegal migrants who use up even more resources.) The Democrats who run the state can’t seem to help themselves, and they keep going back to the well with failed ideas to increase state revenue. The latest chapter in this ongoing story comes to us from Stephen Green at PJ Media. It appears that members of the...

The Texas National Guard has seized control of a park at the U.S. southern border and is now blocking Border Patrol from entering the area — part of an effort to stop the surge of illegal immigration into Texas and a move likely to significantly increase tensions between Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and the federal government. The state government has taken control of Shelby Park in the city of Eagle Pass, Texas, which has been at the center of the migrant crisis that has engulfed the U.S. border. Authorities have now set up razor wire and fences to block off...

Just a few months ago, Hertz committed to making electric vehicles a quarter of its rental fleet. They had already announced an intent to partner with Tesla as a major provider for their future fleet, which had pushed Tesla’s value even higher. Supposedly, the scale of the demand and usage would lower costs across the board and make fleet maintenance all that much easier for Hertz and other rental agencies. Now, however, Hertz has hit reverse — and taken a big hit to its bottom line. Bloomberg reports today that the leading rental company wants to sell off a full...
