Mark Zuckerberg is raising wagyu beef on a macadamia nut diet on Hawaii's Kauai

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is now a cattle rancher, and he appears to be — in true billionaire fashion — taking it to the most opulent extreme possible.

The tech executive owns $170 million of land on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, where he’s building a $100 million humongous, prepper-style compound. On Tuesday, in a Facebook post, Zuckerberg revealed more of his plans for the property: He will raise a herd of cattle on a homegrown, incredibly expensive diet.

“My goal is to create some of the highest quality beef in the world,” the Facebook founder wrote. Then, he dropped an early entry for 2024’s most money-oozing sentence: “The cattle are wagyu and angus, and they'll grow up eating macadamia meal and drinking beer that we grow and produce here on the ranch.”

What’s wagyu? It refers to several Japanese cattle breeds known for expensive and delicious beef — single, live cows can go for as much as $30,000. As for macadamia meal, that’s the ground-up version of one of Earth’s most expensive nuts. That’s right: Your delicacy is Zuckerberg’s cattle fodder.

He wrote in the post that cows eat 5,000 to 10,000 pounds of food every year and admitted that feeding thousand-pound animals a diet of ground-up nuts would require a “lot of acres” of the trees, but he glossed right over the absurdity of the plan.

Let’s do the math. One mature macadamia tree can produce around 65 pounds of nuts each year, using up to about 4,800 gallons of water. If fed only macadamia nuts, one Zuckerberg cow could theoretically gobble as much as 154 trees’ output — requiring about 740,000 gallons per year. Better hope for rain, even on the island with one of the wettest spots on Earth.

I hope he chokes on it. I am friends with several of the families he scammed to get his property on that island. He unleashed the most vicious group of lawyers to destroy any one who stood in the way of his paradise.

There’s a type of ham in Spain that come from boars fed an acorn diet (”Iberico,” I believe), and it’s damned good ham. So Zuck’s idea of macadamia-fed cattle isn’t insane. Nuts are nearly all fat, so it actually makes some sense.

Zuckerberg’s sister says eating bugs is “the next big trend in sustainability”. But that’s for the rest of us, not for her and her brother.

This little turd has snatched the championship belt of extreme hyposcrisy from Leo DiCaprio and then some. Mr. Pro-open borders yet he has security up the wazoo around his compound not to mention he’s sued Hawaiians to get them to move.

I am sure the macadamia nuts cause the cows to fart less!

Just saving the Earth, you know!

Would be karmic if he is trampled by a herd of drunken Wagyu.

It sounds like what Zuck is using is a sort of hybrid feed plan between the Japanese wagyu cattle and the Spanish hogs raised for ham.

Kobe is a trademark for beef from wagyu cattle raised in one particular prefecture (state) in Japan. They get fed beer and sometimes sake, among other things.

Acorns were a traditional part of the diet for hogs raised for ham all over Europe, esp. in Spain & Italy. The Spanish still do it with jamon serrano (literally, “ham of the mountains”) and jamon iberico (Iberian ham).

The Italians also once free-ranged their ham hogs to browse the forest floor for acorns but they switched to feeding them on fruit and the whey left over from making cheese. The most recognized trademark of Italian ham is Prosciutto di Parma, which (not by coincidence) happens to come from the same region as Parmesan cheese (in Italian, Parmigiano Reggiano). So they’re growing their ham hogs where there’s no shortage of whey.

Beef cattle don’t eat macadamia nuts, they might if they didn’t have nothing else to eat. Grasses; the cow stomach digests grasses through rumination. Zuckerberg is performing animal cruelty by feeding them macadamia nuts and beer. What a flake.

“Beef cattle don’t eat macadamia nuts, they might if they didn’t have nothing else to eat. Grasses; the cow stomach digests grasses through rumination. “

Beef cattle also don’t eat corn kernels naturally and big agri force feeds millions of cattle a year at feed lots in horrific conditions to make “cheap” $5.99lb Robert steaks you see on sale at Kroger or Sam’s Club ect. Corn has less protein than Mac nuts and much more starch vs polyunsaturated fats that nut meal would have. Mac nuts are much healthier for the cattle than corn kernels by far. These cattle will have a spoiled life that would be the envy of most middle class humans. Look up how Kobe cattle are raised only cow’s from Kobe Japan can be called Kobe cattle the breed is what zuck is raising outside of Kobe using the same methods these cow’s won’t be all feed on nut meal he says as much if people bothered to read his whole post. These cattle will be free ranged on his massive ranch and supplemental feed beer and Mac nuts while getting massaged and brushed daily a life of luxury for the cattle that is what makes the meat so good the lack of struggle for calories plus the massaging. Puts so much marbling in the meat is nearly 50/50 meat to fat it melts in the month. True Kobe beef is worth every penny it’s one of life’s great pleasures like $500 an ounce sturgeon caviar from the Caspian Sea it’s unparalleled by anything else. You have either tasted it in its real form or not at all. Kobe is the same way. He has a long hard journey to replicate that but with a billion dollars to play with he will succeed no doubt hiring Japanese experts to come and set up his process. I’m well versed in cattle one of my blood lines has raised cattle since the 1700s in South Texas having land grants in leagues and varas from Philip V in perpetuity when Texas wasn’t even Texas yet it was the Viceroy de Nuevo Espana. Th 36 didn’t cross the border the border crossed them. I tell people all the time know the difference from immigrants and a founder.
