Church attendance across the Western world has dropped drastically—and continues to drop with every generation. In the USA, Generation Z church attendance is down to less than 9%. What is going on? Well, this is an issue I’ve been addressing for years, pointing the church back to the primary issue: an erosion of the authority of God’s Word and a lack of answers given to the next generation. Excerpt from agenda of an upcoming webinar: An employee now living and working from home in Indiana would be subject to Indiana wage-hour laws even if the employee used to work in Illinois and the employer is still located in Illinois. Overtime rules, minimum wage rates, and permitted deductions from paychecks, even pay stub requirements are governed by where the employee is physically performing the work. The same applies to garnishments for child support and creditors.

Army Gen. Mark Milley pushed back on claims from Republicans that the military is “woke” and as a result not prepared to take on modern threats, saying he’s “not even sure what that word truly means.” “What I see is a military that’s exceptionally strong. It’s powerful; it’s ready. In fact, our readiness rates, the way we measure readiness, is better now than they’ve been in years,” Milley said in a CNN interview Sunday. Republican politicians and candidates have blasted the Pentagon for so-called woke policies, pointing to efforts to recruit a diverse group of military service members and be...

PASCAGOULA, Miss.—A $13.3 billion program to safeguard American interests in the Arctic has run aground on an old industrial challenge: cutting and shaping thick, hardened steel. U.S. officials are racing to procure new polar icebreakers because one of only two that the Coast Guard now sails has reached the end of its life, and the one assigned to the Arctic is out of service for maintenance every winter. Delivery of the first new icebreaker has slipped to 2028 from 2024 as designers, engineers and welders grapple with something the U.S. hasn’t done in decades: reliably shape hardened steel that is...

"Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love." "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it." "Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened." Revelation 2 1 Unto the angel of the...

On September 10, in an exclusive interview with the British weekly The Economist, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated that the country would never compromise with Russian President Vladimir Putin and that the war will continue for as long as Russia remains on Ukrainian territory. “A negotiated deal would not be permanent. The Russian president has a habit of creating frozen conflicts on Russia’s borders (in Georgia, for example), not as ends in themselves but because his goal is to restore the Soviet Union. The mistake is not diplomacy. The mistake is diplomacy with Putin. He negotiates only with himself,” the...

It's make or break time, America. President Donald Trump leads Governor Ron DeSantis, his closest competitor, by up to 50 percentage points. Let's be clear about what DeSantis is up against. He's splitting the 'anyone but Trump vote' with seven other GOP candidates. But there is a way through – just listen to New Hampshire's Republican Governor Chris Sununu. 'If seven of those candidates have the discipline to get out, Trump loses,' Sununu said in a new interview this week. 'Make it a one-on-one race, Trump loses. There's no question about it.' So here we go: a plea to the...

The few remaining viewers of CNN got a remarkable dose of news on Saturday. Just in time for Constitution Day, CNN’s dwindling audience learned that the Consitution of the United States — the oldest written government charter in the world and the document that gave birth to the nation that has spread democracy around the globe — has become so “outdated” that it’s actually a “threat to democracy.” Of course, that’s democracy as CNN’s scholars understand it. And you can’t spell ignorance without “C-N-N.” The word came on “Newsroom,” anchored by former CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta. Acosta interviewed...

There is an adverse association between calcium channel blocker (CCB) use and glaucoma, according to a study. Alan Kastner, M.D. and colleagues examined the association between systemic CCB use and glaucoma and related traits in a population-based cross-sectional study involving U.K. Biobank participants with complete data for analysis of glaucoma status, intraocular pressure (IOP), and optical coherence tomography-derived inner retinal layer thicknesses. Data were included for 427,480 adults (median age, 58 years), including 33,175 CCB users (7.8 percent). The researchers found that use of CCBs, but not other antihypertensive agents, was associated with increased odds of glaucoma after adjustment for...

ABSTRACT: Fifty years ago, the US Army faced a strategic inflection point after a failed counterinsurgency effort in Vietnam. In response to lessons learned from the Yom Kippur War, the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command was created to reorient thinking and doctrine around the conventional Soviet threat. Today’s Army must embrace the Russo-Ukrainian conflict as an opportunity to reorient the force into one as forward-thinking and formidable as the Army that won Operation Desert Storm. This article suggests changes the Army should make to enable success in multidomain large-scale combat operations at today’s strategic inflection point.

Research provides insight into a critical issue facing surgical patients: post-operative cognitive dysfunction (POCD). POCD is a neurological complication that some patients experience after undergoing surgical procedures that require anesthesia. Anesthesia is not without risks. Sevoflurane, a widely-used anesthetic, has been identified as a significant factor contributing to postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD). While generally considered safe and effective, sevoflurane has been linked to certain neurocognitive deficits, including POCD. Resveratrol (RES) is a bioactive compound found in certain foods like grapes. RES is a known agonist for Silent Information Regulator 1 (SIRT1), a protein that has various neuroprotective roles. By binding...

... The DoD may need a decade to build a reliable domestic supply chain, according to Mike Burns, managing partner of tech investment firm Murray Hill Group. The issue is how fast U.S.-based Intel can catch up with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), which makes Altera and Xilinx field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and other chips that the DoD uses in weapons systems like the F-35 fighter jet, missiles and command-and-control gear, he said. “Maybe that’s a three-year effort,” he told EE Times. “I’m just saying that it’s many years.” To be sure, TSMC more than tripled its overall investment...
