All Grisham’s edict does is make it illegal for law-abiding citizens to carry. After several road rage cases claimed the lives of children this summer, New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham suspended the open and concealed carry of firearms in Albuquerque and throughout Bernalillo County for the next 30 days. Grisham’s response will not make New Mexicans safer. Indeed, the opposite is true. None of the attacks that Grisham can point to involved permit holders. That’s not too surprising – permit holders in New Mexico and the rest of the country are exceptionally law-abiding. In 2021, there was just one...

Members of the United Auto Workers began a strike Friday at three plants in the Midwest, walking out amid a contract dispute over pay, pensions and work hours at the three Detroit automakers. The strike of each of the three Detroit automakers is not a full-scale walkout by the union’s roughly 150,000 members, but a “limited and targeted” work stoppage that could expand if talks remain bogged down. The workers’ four-year contracts with General Motors, Ford Motor and Stellantis — which owns Chrysler, Jeep and Ram — expired at midnight Thursday, with the two sides far apart. The union, which...

Suppose a foreign country, whichever, mexico, china, Russia, Etc, sent an army to March into San Francisco and then annexed it into their country. Rhe citizens of San Francisco would now pay taxes to that country and would would follow thier laws. Would you fight or have your son fight to liberate the city although it's values are very different from your own? Would you view them as fellow Americans that deserve Liberation just the same? Or would you gave the opinion that is not worth fighting for?

The PPB took more than 20 minutes to respond to high-priority calls, more than 50 minutes to respond to medium-priority calls, and more than one and a half hours to respond to low-priority calls as of July, according to the report.“Like other major cities, Portland, Oregon, has experienced a surge in crime and disorder over the past three years,” the report reads. “Unlike other major cities, Portland is uniquely ill-equipped to deal with this problem, because its police department is uniquely understaffed.”

W. E. B. Griffin, who depicted the swashbuckling lives of soldiers, spies and cops in almost 60 novels, dozens of which became best sellers, died on Feb. 12 at his home in Daphne, Ala. He was 89. The cause was colorectal cancer, said his son William E. Butterworth IV, who was also his writing partner. Mr. Griffin estimated that he had published more than 150 books, many of which appeared on the best-seller lists of The New York Times, Publishers Weekly and other publications. His output included fiction for young adults and children’s books. According to his website, there are...

When Mitt Romney announced his retirement from electoral politics on Wednesday after one term in the US Senate, he made no mention of his deep roots in Massachusetts. But those who have known him for decades say they saw unmistakable echoes of his time as governor of the state in his pragmatic streak in the hyper-partisan US Capitol. The Utah Republican, 76, said he was leaving content with his work, noting that in the first two years of the Biden administration, he was at the center of several significant bipartisan pieces of legislation, including the infrastructure bill, a gun safety...

Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert called a pregnant woman “a sad and miserable person” after she asked the Republican lawmaker to stop vaping during the “Beetlejuice” performance that she and her date were later kicked out of on Sunday, according to a report. The firebrand’s foul remark came after she had told the mom-to-be “no” when the fellow Denver theatergoer asked her to put her vaping pen down, the Denver Post reported Thursday. “These people in front of us were outrageous,” the woman, who requested anonymity, told the newspaper. “I’ve never seen anyone act like that before.” The behavior of Boebert,...

"Stand firm therefore . . . having put on the breastplate of righteousness" (Eph. 6:14). Practical righteousness is moment-by-moment obedience to God. We've seen the importance of putting on the breastplate of righteousness as protection against Satan's attempts to pervert your thinking and emotions. But Scripture speaks of three kinds of righteousness: self-righteousness, imputed righteousness, and practical righteousness. Which did Paul have in mind in Ephesians 6:14? Paul wasn't speaking of self-righteousness because that is what the breastplate of righteousness is designed to protect you from. Self-righteousness deceives a person into thinking, I can please God and reach heaven on...

In April of 2022, just months after Russia launched its invasion into Ukraine, Sen. Roger Marshall sat in a small conference room in the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center with a group of Ukrainians to talk about a potential food shortage that could arise from the war in Ukraine. For Marshall, it was an opportunity to talk about inflation and how the war could drive up crop prices at home. But each Ukrainian that spoke had the same message — give us the weapons we need to win the war. After the event, Marshall said he was inspired by the strength...

This must be something akin to diversity being our strength or something along these lines. I mean vibrancy in 2023 is something else, we’re vibing. To combat a growing issue of human feces in public areas, parks in Canada are starting to place human poo bags and signs in English, French, and Hindi reminding people to pick up after themselves. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/wag-bag-program-squamish-1.6964938 Why do they need to be in english and french? I can’t imagine english and french speakers are sh*tting in public that much. Whatever.

there’s another even more profound significance to Rosh Hashanah that has been obscured in our history due to the influence of pagan religion in our lives combined with the concerted effort made in the 4th Century to deny the Jewish roots of Christianity. It has to do with the birth of our Lord.

Argentina is a developed country, with an educated population, a huge middle class, and tremendous natural resources. But when you look at it closely...you learn quickly why its nationals want to flee, and why anti-establishment "anarcho-capitalist" Javier Milei is leading in the polls and likely to win Argentina's presidency come October. The problem is inflation — 165% inflation as of July, according to Steve Hanke's inflation index, which is the most accurate reading. Tucker Carlson went down to Buenos Aires to find out exactly what that is like, exploring in a mere ten minutes on Twitter just how normal people...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemJohn 14Jesus the Way to the Father 5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know[b] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” 8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” 9 Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me,...

Whether a Taiwanese chip engineer who led Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp (SMIC) to make 7 nanometer chips for Huawei’s Mate60 Pro will be sanctioned by the United States has become a hot issue in Taiwan and mainland China. After the unexpected debut of the Kirin 9000s processor inside Mate60 Pro on August 29, Liang Mong-Song, managing director of SMIC and a former engineer at TSMC and Samsung, is now praised as a hero in the chip industry in China, alongside Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei and SMIC founder Zhang Rujing. After the US Commerce Department revealed on September 7 that it...

China has unveiled its version of Iran’s Shahed suicide drone, known as the Sunflower-200, raising speculation that Beijing may soon offer the weapon to nations critical to its geostrategic interests and ambitions. Whether China would sell the Sunflower-200 to Russia and risk possible Western sanctions, however, is an open but important question as the conflict in Ukraine is increasingly characterized by drone warfare. This month, Forbes reported on a new video revealing the Chinese-made kamikaze drone’s test launch. The drone is believed to be a copy of the Iranian Shahed-136 and was seen in pictures from Russia’s ARMY-2023 defense exhibition...

The strong rebuke should end the government’s commitment to “treatments” that make its bureaucrats money, but only if the American people wise up. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit issued a unanimous three-judge decision on September 1, 2023, holding that the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) overstepped its statutory authority by attempting to ban using ivermectin to treat COVID-19. In Apter v. Department of Health and Human Services, court concluded, “FDA is not a physician. It has authority to inform, announce, and apprise—but not to endorse, denounce, or advise.” Writing for the three-judge panel, Circuit Judge Don R....
