[Catholic Caucus] In new interview, Fernandez says Bible teaching on homosexuality should not be taken too literally, otherwise women might have to wear veilsThe following interview with Archbishop Víctor Manuel Fernández appeared today in Spanish at catolin.com, under journalist Ale Villegas (source).Ale Villegas: How does one promote the faith in a West that is increasingly indifferent to religion?Archbp. Fernández: It is a relative indifference, because new forms of religiosity and spirituality are always emerging. At a given moment, when one feels the suffocation of superficiality, the question of religion comes up again. That is the moment when, if we are...

Count Charles Barkley as someone who isn’t going to be boycotting Bud Light anytime soon.According to TMZ, the NBA legend and TV personality was in Lake Tahoe for the American Century Celebrity golf tournament. At some point, he got a little time away from the links. This gave him a chance to take the mic and lambast people unhappy with Bud Light’s descent into wokeness.“I want y’all to drink this f–king beer,” Sir Charles said. “I want y’all to drink this f–king beer, I got three cases of Bud Light.”Those three cases may mean that Barkley was holding onto the...

Joe Biden’s dementia is rapidly advancing and the nation is in great peril. Proof of his decline came in a creepy moment during his brief visit to Helsinki, where he assaulted (that is the proper word) a child, a little girl who happened to attract his eye in a crowd. He walked over to her, put his mouth on her back and appeared to rapidly flick his tongue on her, through the fabric of her dress. Watch his jaw move up and down rapidly during the ten-second video clip from Twitter. It looks perverted at best, disturbingly sexual in connotation....

William Perry Pendley, a Cheyenne native who served as BLM director under President Trump, said John Kerry showed an "unbelievable level of disconnect" in saying his concern with the war in Ukraine is its CO2 emissions, not terrible loss of life. William Perry Pendley said he couldn’t believe what he was hearing when U.S. Climate envoy John Kerry said his concern with the war in Ukraine was how it was contributing to climate change. The Cheyenne native, who served as acting Bureau of Land Management (BLM) director under President Trump and deputy secretary of the Interior under Ronald Reagan, said...

Likely Green Party presidential candidate Cornel West ripped President Biden’s record on race issues, calling the Democrat’s history with black Americans nothing short of a “crime against humanity,” in an exclusive interview with The Post. West, 70, accused Biden of spurring mass incarceration among minorities because of the tough-on-crime federal Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act Biden sponsored as a senator in 1994. The bill authorized the hiring of 100,000 new police officers and allocated $9.7 billion for prisons.

Over 200 countries will soon be receiving a formal invitation to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics, but Russia and Belarus will be excluded because of the ongoing war in Ukraine, the International Olympic Committee announced Thursday. However, athletes will be allowed to participate under a neutral flag.

Yes, one of the cornerstones of Bidenomics is the massive expansion of (impractical) electric vehicles (or EVs). You know, those mondo expensive cars that run out of power after a couple of hundred miles requiring a lengthy recharge (kind of makes long distance trips the domain of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) cars. But as Biden/Congress spent trillions on green energy (massive subsidies for anything green), we noticed that 1) inflation hit 40 year highs and 2) The Fed intervened to raise rates. So, now we see that 60-month auto loan rates are now around 7.36%, up 74.4% under “Middle Class...

Nothing sums up the Biden administration better than the video of Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen prostrating herself before the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Sunday. The sight of one of America’s most powerful Cabinet members groveling before her counterpart in one of the world’s most evil empires was enough to sicken anyone. The moment was so appalling that even the media’s backlash was swift.

A U.S. soldier, 23, who vanished only to return a day after his transgender wife was found dead in their military home has been cleared as a person of interest. Spc. Craig Chamberlain, 23, is a Fort Cavazos (formerly Fort Hood) soldier who, unbeknownst to his wife, stopped showing up for duty in March. On May 15, after lying about reporting to the military base in Texas for two months, he left their home in Killeen and failed to return. Craig's wife, Cameron, reported him missing to police and to the base. She was found dead inside their home on...

In the first two weeks of Ukraine’s grueling counteroffensive, as much as 20 percent of the weaponry it sent to the battlefield was damaged or destroyed, according to American and European officials. The toll includes some of the formidable Western fighting machines — tanks and armored personnel carriers — the Ukrainians were counting on to beat back the Russians. The startling rate of losses dropped to about 10 percent in the ensuing weeks, the officials said, preserving more of the troops and machines needed for the major offensive push that the Ukrainians say is still to come. Some of the improvement came...

Former Arizona GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake said she believes she is the only candidate who could win next year’s Arizona Senate race as she weighs whether to join the contest. Lake said while commenting The Family Leadership Summit, a conservative, Christian conference held in Iowa, that she will decide whether she will run for Sen. Kyrsten Sinema’s (I-Ariz.) Senate seat in the next few months, potentially making a decision in the fall, NBC News reported.

THE LAST DAY OF THE OLD GOP ORDER. This day eight years ago, July 13, 2015, marked the last day that old-style Republican politics dominated the GOP presidential race. The day saw Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor and third Bush to run for the Republican nomination, firmly in the lead in a highly fractured GOP field, with 17.8% of the national vote in the RealClearPolitics average of polls. That was 8 points ahead of Wisconsin's then-Gov. Scott Walker and 8.5 points ahead of a candidate who had never run for office before, Donald Trump. A week later, on July...

Retail chain Costco appears to have decided to stop selling Bud Light at its stores as the company has given the beer the dreaded “star of death,” suggesting an end to product sales. Images shared online show notices at Costco announcing the sale of Bud Light together with an asterisk sign, popularly known as the “star of death.” An item depicted with such a sign at Costco is an indication that the retail chain won’t restock the product or that the item has been discontinued. It’s unclear whether the “star of death” mark is applicable to all Costco stores or...

A police officer was killed and two other officers are in critical condition after a man opened fire on a North Dakota street on Friday. The shooting unfolded at an intersection in Fargo, N.D. just before 3 p.m. as officers were responding to the scene of a car crash, according to KFGO. Officers returned gunfire, killing the suspect, who has yet to be identified. Fargo police said a fifth person sustained “serious injuries” in the shooting.

When a friend opts to date someone who is old enough to be their parent, a common response is to see if the decision passes the “half their age plus seven” test. The rule, whose origins remain mysterious, has been passed down through generations as a way of justifying or, more commonly, pouring scorn on other people’s couplings. It’s fine for a 22-year-old to go out with an 18-year-old. It’s not ok for a 38-year-old to go out with a 23-year-old, however a 26-year-old would be fair game. The older you get, the wider the permissible age gap: a 50-year-old...

Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said Friday on MSNBC’s “The Last Word” that former President Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign is an attempt to protect himself from legal consequences of his “criminal actions.” Raskin said, “Jim Jordan and James Comer, and the MAGA forces running the House of Representatives, would much prefer to arraign the entire law enforcement agencies of America, at the FBI, and others on charges that they are part of a vast conspiracy to get Donald Trump, then to accept the possibility that Donald Trump actually swiped hundreds of confidential and top secret government documents, and then hid...

The heat is on, as middle July is climatologically the hottest time of year. Nationally, the core of the heat will be in the Southwest into early next week, with temperatures consistently 5 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit higher their normally hot midsummer levels. While much of the Middle Atlantic and the Southwest had a relatively cool interlude last month, it was the warmest June on record globally. A big reason was the exceedingly warm oceans, as they cover about 70 percent of the planet’s surface. In the eastern Gulf of Mexico, which is already warm to begin with, water around...

Enigmatic "ivory rings" found in dozens of Anglo-Saxon burials in England have long baffled archaeologists, who weren't sure of the rings' origin and which animal they came from — elephants, walruses or mammoths. But now, scientific techniques have revealed that these rings likely came from African elephants living about 4,000 miles (6,400 kilometers) away, a new study finds. The finding indicates a trading network brought the objects from eastern Africa and across post-Roman Europe to England...The researchers analyzed one of seven so-called "bag rings" found in graves at an early Anglo-Saxon cemetery, dated to between the late fifth and early sixth...

By Jen Wiersma, Trustee for the Temecula Valley Unified School District, Area 3 Standing up for parental rights over our children’s education is more than a campaign slogan; it is essential. As parents are taking action to regain control of their children’s education, we are seeing disinformation campaigns launched to upend their efforts. As a newly seated Temecula Unified School District (TVUSD) board member, I’m compelled to address the inaccuracies perpetuated by Assemblyman Corey Jackson, author of Assembly Bill 1078 and the co-sponsor of the bill, Tony Thurmond, California Superintendent of Public Instruction. Since the November 2022 general election, where...
