Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said Friday on MSNBC’s “The Last Word” that former President Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign is an attempt to protect himself from legal consequences of his “criminal actions.”
Raskin said, “Jim Jordan and James Comer, and the MAGA forces running the House of Representatives, would much prefer to arraign the entire law enforcement agencies of America, at the FBI, and others on charges that they are part of a vast conspiracy to get Donald Trump, then to accept the possibility that Donald Trump actually swiped hundreds of confidential and top secret government documents, and then hid them in his residence at Mar-a-Lago, even when there is photographic documentary evidence of his having done so.”

It’s interesting that he should mention that. I believe that the campaign against Trump being waged by the Media-Dem Party is primarily to protect themselves from the legal consequences of their ocean of lies, fraud, and all-around dishonesty over the last 8 years.

Trump had the lawful authority to remove documents as President. They were not “swiped”.
If Trump’s 12-member petit jury is not allowed to see the documents, why should a 25-member grand jury (of which none are known to have a top secret/SCI clearance) have the right to see them?
The National Archives has the right to just one copy of every Presidential document.
I believe Trump is the “decider” when it comes to what is a Presidential document.
The Speech and Debate Clause is saving Raskin from civil liability and criminal consequences.

President Trump had a duty to keep Presidential papers separate from personal papers.
Why should he have reason to believe well over twelve months from leaving office that many, many boxes of personal papers also had quite a number of papers with classification markings?
Why were his copies of documents with classification markings not sought by White House staffers for placement back into White House safes?
Mr. President, your Tuesday morning classified briefing document apparently has not been stored back into its safe. If you find it...
The National Archives has no right to Presidential copies of agency documents.
If Trump stuck a marked document into a stack of papers to hide it from personal quarter staffers who might walk into his room and find it before answering a call of nature, and then has to attend to important official business and forgets about the hastily stored marked document, does that make him a criminal?

So then it's not just a matter of Personal vs. Presidential records. The president can take copies of presidential records...which is what he did.
This was the plan all along..sell, Trump as the bad guy..so, the real bad guy (the entire dim party,fbi and the RINOs that love them) doesn’t seem so bad.
IOW..the “everybody does it” excuse...so, Trump is fair game.
