A reader sent me this graphic which is circulating on social media. Whenever I see an unattributed image like this going around I want to verify it, lest it be photoshopped, a deep-fake or some derivation of “urban legend”. Sure enough, if you go to NatWest bank’s website, right here – you see this cash withdrawal policy spelled out for all to see: This isn’t actually new Here in Canada, for at least a few years – predating COVID, the big four banks have been routinely asking you why you are taking cash out whenever you withdraw anything over a...

My friends and I are bracing for the annual rainbow onslaught poised to swamp families coast to coast this June. This year’s storm looks like a Category 5; it’s already blowing the doors off the nearby Target and wreaking havoc on the Bud Light warehouse. As bad as it is out in corporate land, it’s worse in the public schools, where it’s harder to see — almost like they’re trying to keep it secret! Many schools have even moved their pride events up to May so that no child is freed for summer vacation without being forced to take their...

He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor. With a mighty voice he shouted: “FALLEN! FALLEN IS BABYLON THE GREAT! She has become a home for demons and a haunt for every evil spirit, a haunt for every unclean and detestable bird. For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings...

Ariel the Little Mermaid is part of your…historically inaccurate…world. “The Little Mermaid” is being criticized by a prominent diversity advocate for its erasure of slavery in the Caribbean. Marcus Ryder, an influential British campaigner and chair of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, applauded the casting of Halle Bailey as Ariel — but took issue with how the movie showcased racial harmony.

The free-for-all America has witnessed at the southern border (5 million “encounters” and 1.5 million gotaways) has been ongoing for the last 30 months. Many books will be written about the series of policy decisions (and plain ol’ gross negligence) that led to the daily chaos. Indeed, the storylines are limitless, given the width and depth of this travesty. But there are specific subplots worthy of special consideration by those attempting to fully understand how we ended up here. Herein follows seven of those storylines: 1. On the heels of the scheduled lapse of the Title 42 pandemic health restriction,...

On Tuesday, the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against the son of West Virginia Governor Jim Justice as well as his son’s coal companies, coming just weeks after Justice announced a run for Sen. Joe Manchin’s seat in 2024. The DOJ sued 13 coal companies that are owned or operated by Jim Justice III, alleging the operations violated their legal obligations under the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 and "have failed to pay uncontested penalties assessed for their uncontested violations." The department said that the companies have been cited for over 130 violations, "and have failed...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemLuke 11 The Sign of Jonah 29 As the crowds increased, Jesus said, “This is a wicked generation. It asks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah. 30 For as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so also will the Son of Man be to this generation. 31 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the people of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom; and now something greater than Solomon...

Republican Rep. Chris Stewart (Utah) announced Wednesday that he will retire from Congress. The Salt Lake Tribune first reported on Stewart's retirement plans. In a statement, Stewart said that serving in Congress "has been one of the great honors" of his life but explained his wife's health made his retirement "necessary." "I can say with pride that I have been an effective leader for my beloved home state, and I’m honored to have played an important role in guiding our nation through some troubled times," Stewart said. "But my wife's health concerns have made it necessary that I retire from...

Every time I go to London, I visit the Tower of London and sit in the little room below grade level, where Thomas More spent his last months. I am reminded often these days of Thomas More and King Henry VIII and the kerfuffle over Anne Boleyn. More, you see, would not sign the oath and proclaim the legitimacy of the marriage of the king to Boleyn because of the inconvenient matter of Henry’s divorce from Catherine. More, good lawyer that he was, determined that his safety resided in him saying nothing — keeping his mouth shut. For a time,...

The Republican National Committee on Friday revealed the criteria that 2024 GOP presidential candidates must meet in order to participate in the first primary debate in August. Prospective debaters will be required to hit several polling and fundraising thresholds in order to take the stage in Milwaukee, Wis., on Aug. 23, and all participants must also sign a pledge agreeing to support the party’s eventual standard-bearer and not participate in non-RNC sanctioned debates. “The RNC is committed to putting on a fair, neutral, and transparent primary process and the qualifying criteria set forth will put our party and eventual nominee...

Colonel Jeff Cooper, the founder of Gunsite and author of To Ride, Shoot Straight, and Speak the Truth, borrowed from JRR Tolkien's Lord of the Rings to depict soldiers of dictatorships as orcs, communist-occupied East Germany as Mordor, and violent criminals as goblins. "When three goblins broke into his house with knives, he produced his regimental sabre and gave battle." See also: "It seems that the concealed carry policy now in effect in 30 states is unfair to goblins. They cannot tell who is armed and who is not, and when their intended victim shoots back it hurts their feelings...

"This you know, my beloved brethren. But let everyone be quick to hear" (James 1:19). Being quick to hear involves a proper attitude toward God’s Word. It has been well said that either God's Word will keep you from sin or sin will keep you from God's Word. Apparently some of James's readers were allowing sin to keep them from receiving the Word as they should. God was allowing them to experience various trials so their joy and spiritual endurance would increase, but they lacked wisdom and fell into temptation and sin. James called them back to the Word and...

It was the fall of 2022. This was the first of many on-the-record interviews that Licht had agreed to give me, and I wanted to know how CNN’s new leader planned to deal with another Donald Trump candidacy. Until recently Licht had been producing a successful late-night comedy show. Now, just a few months into his job running one of the world’s preeminent news organizations, he claimed to have a “simple” answer to the question that might very well come to define his legacy. “The media has absolutely, I believe, learned its lesson,” Licht said. Sensing my surprise, he grinned....

*The racist backlash against "The Little Mermaid" is impacting the film's reviews on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb). According to People, Disney’s live-action re-imagining of the beloved 1989 animated classic is getting a lot of “unusual activity” on IMDB, specifically when it comes to ratings for the movie. The film opened Friday to $117 million at the domestic box office over Memorial Day Weekend. According to The Washington Post, "The Little Mermaid" received 41,000 user ratings on IMDB but more than 39 percent of the ratings are 1 star, Variety reports. IMDb revised its rating system as a result of...
