The city of Monterey has decided to apply a new rule to a purposed cell tower ordinance Thursday. The proposed ordinance would limit cell equipment to mostly commercial and industrial areas, residential areas will only be considered if wireless companies could prove the tower is necessary to provide service. According to county official’s, residents demanded the ordinance to include a 100-foot setback from homes, which was approved by the city council. The Salinas police department say they arrested 6 people for the burglary of a cannabis dispensary early Saturday morning on the 1000 block of Terven Avenue. According to Commander John Murray officers arrived at the scene of the burglary which he says happened around 4:45 a.m. Investigators say the the suspects fled in two separate vehicles heading north and south of the dispensary.
