A 26-year-old mother was shot and killed in front of her young children outside of a South Carolina grocery store on Valentine’s Day. Alexandria Cress Borys had been shopping at a Kroger in Irmo, South Carolina on Tuesday when she got into a verbal dispute with a complete stranger while packing groceries in her car in the parking lot, Borys’ husband, Tyler, told WIS-TV. After the argument apparently ended, the stranger, identified by police as 23-year-old Christina Harrison, pulled out a gun and shot Borys in the back around 4 p.m., he said. Tyler Borys told WACH that she was...

As we approach the first anniversary of Russia’s brutal and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, two ominous trends are emerging at once. First, Russia is doubling down. It’s pouring fresh troops into Ukraine and launching new offensive operations. Second, poll after poll after poll demonstrate that American support for Ukraine is slipping away. While Americans have sympathy for Ukraine, declining percentages are willing to spend American resources to keep Ukraine in the fight. Yet the outcome of the war is simply too important — to America as well as Ukraine — to allow our support to falter. On the war’s anniversary...

Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of former President Donald Trump, has suggested that Russia could be responsible for recent train derailments in the U.S. and linked the incidents to the destruction of the Nord Stream gas pipelines. "We've had train wrecks day in and day out for the past week, coincidentally, right after a report about our possibly taking out Russia's Nordstrom [sic] 2 pipeline and yet not a single reporter has asked if perhaps it's a retaliation against our critical infrastructure.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) — it’s the mantra repeated endlessly by virtually every significant institution in our country except, very recently, for the governments of a few red states. But with that sole exception, every institution you can think of, from universities, to major corporations, law firms, art museums, symphony orchestras, Hollywood, charitable NGOs, etc., etc., not to mention the federal government and all of the blue state governments — all of them are on fully on board. While the DEI concept might have a few nuances here and there, stripped to its basics it means one simple thing:...

(Daily readings from the USCCB)“You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust.” Matthew 5:43–45Nowhere in the Old Testament does it say that we should hate our enemies. Note that Jesus did not say “It has been written…” Instead, He says, “You have heard that it...

US government agents had been tipped off about the cult by a postal driver alarmed by the number of guns he had been delivering to the group's headquarters. Special agent Davy Aguilera had concluded that the Branch Davidians had been illegally converting AR-15 rifles from semi-automatic to automatic weapons, without applying for the required licences or paying the taxes due. Spooked by rumours that cult members were planning a mass suicide at Passover, amid reports of child abuse against under-age girls, ATF agents began in July 1992 to lay the groundwork for the biggest operation in the agency's history. The...

"This I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment" (Phil. 1:9). Christian love operates within the parameters of Biblical knowledge and spiritual discernment. As a Christian, you are a repository of divine love. More than anything else, your love for God and for other believers marks you as a true disciple of Jesus Christ (John 13:35). In addition to possessing God's love, you have the privilege and responsibility of expressing it to others on His behalf. That's a sacred trust. Paul qualifies it in Philippians 1:9, which tells us love is...

What are you, some kind of science denier? You probably think wealth redistribution from the middle and lower classes to the one percent via exorbitant taxes won’t stop the weather from warming or cooling too — idiot. What these government clowns are peddling isn’t even pseudo-science anymore; there appears to be zero burden to even give the impression they’re adhering to scientific methods or pursuing objectivity. Enter stage left: Rochelle Walensky, director of the CDC. In a viral video from Twitter a few days back, a Republican congresswoman from Washington state quizzed Walensky on the fact that the CDC remained...

When the Agriculture Department finished its calculations last month, the findings were startling: 2022 was a disaster for upland cotton in Texas, the state where the coarse fiber is primarily grown and then sold around the globe in the form of tampons, cloth diapers, gauze pads and other products. In the biggest loss on record, Texas farmers abandoned 74% of their planted crops — nearly 6 million acres — because of heat and parched soil, hallmarks of a megadrought made worse by climate change. That crash has helped to push up the price of tampons in the United States 13%...

After nearly five months of waiting, an alarm activated on Michael Cove’s radio, a sign his study was working. To hunt pythons, an invasive predator in the Florida Keys, Cove and fellow researchers have been strapping GPS collars to opossums and raccoons. When one was eaten by a python in September, researchers programmed the device to notify them from within the snake’s stomach.... According to a ScienceDaily study, the number of raccoons, opossums and bobcats in the Everglades all dropped by at least 87 percent between 1997 and 2012. The same study found that marsh and cottontail rabbits and foxes...

Exactly how woke do we want to make the people who defend our freedom? Recent incursions into American airspace by Chinese spy balloons, an increasingly threatening Chinese military, and an escalating war in Ukraine that pits NATO forces against Russia all point to the need for a strong, tough, professional U.S. military that can win wars and protect the homeland. The United States spends more on defense than any other country in the world. In fact, our 2021 total of $801 billion exceeded the $777 billion spent that year by the next seven countries — China, India, the U.K., Russia,...

This editor doesn’t intend to do a post on transgender issues every Saturday, but somehow always ends up doing one. For a “marginalized” community with no power, transgender activists have nonetheless compelled the dictionary to change its definition of “woman.” Is there any place worse than Arkansas? A trans doctor testified before the state senate there and was appalled and utterly mortified over her treatment by the legislature. She told her story to The Independent: I’m a trans doctor. What happened to me in front of the Arkansas senate was appalling https://t.co/eDAPIws6jj — The Independent (@Independent) February 18, 2023 Gwendolyn...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemMark 5Jesus Restores a Demon-Possessed Man5 They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes.[a] 2 When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an impure spirit came from the tombs to meet him. 3 This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain. 4 For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Night and day among the tombs...
