A local Catholic church official was shot and killed in Los Angeles County, California, on Saturday, according to the sheriff's department.
David O'Connell, the Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, was fatally shot in the incident in Hacienda Heights, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
The shooting occurred at around 1 p.m. local time in the 1500 block of Janlu Avenue.
Deputies responded to the shooting and when they arrived at the scene, they discovered O'Connell suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Catholic Church in the U.S. has too long been at the forefront championing the “rights” of illegal aliens to be here. Attendance at Mass has seriously declined thus the Church desperately needs new congregations to pass the plate to. Just don’t forget that little fact when you start choosing up sides. We are at war. And war makes strange bedfellows.
I was raised a Roman Catholic in the 50’s, but I don’t recognize these pastoral people anymore, all of whom now advocate for the invasion and deconstruction of my country.
I don’t know what to say at this point. Not enough information . I wonder if he was a Pro-Life leaders?

My prolife Catholic prayer warrior friends say he was very pro-life.
I’m not Catholic but my first wife’s family is, I was never accepted by them because I didn’t convert, but as an observer up close and personal, the church started its present slide when they started taking in anti-Vietnam war activists into the seminary. Then Vatican II and that seems to have cemented all the dystopian features we see today.

That is true. I was raised Catholic but haven’t been to mass in years for the very reasons you cite.

Same here only protestant. Haven’t been to church in multiple decades. They are all pretty much communists.
