"Motion to Vacate" rule sounds great. But if it allows any Congressman to call for a vote to remove the Speaker, then what's to stop a DemocRAT rep from making this "motion" on a daily (or even hourly) basis against McCarthy to disrupt proceedings or Congressional hearings?

(Daily readings from the USCCB)When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of King Herod, behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, "Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star at its rising and have come to do him homage." Matthew 2:1–2 The Magi were most likely from Persia, modern-day Iran. They were men who regularly engaged in a study of the stars. They were not Jewish but were most likely aware of the popular belief of the Jewish people that a king would be born who would save them. These Magi...

There are fears union barons could be plotting the first general strike since 1926 when they meet at a 'war cabinet' later this week. Some of the country's top union bosses, including Mick Lynch, will meet at the Trades Union Congress (TUC) to plan their next move after weeks of crippling walkouts. It will come just a day after they conduct talks with ministers amid ongoing pay disputes that have seen large parts of the country grind to a halt over the last year.

On Jan. 2, 2023, 24-year-old Buffalo Bills Safety, Damar Hamlin, routinely tackled an opposing player for the Cincinnati Bengals. Hamlin stood up and then fell backward on the turf. The XBB.1.5 omicron subvariant is raising concerns of a potential surge in COVID-19 cases as it sweeps across the Northeast. Officials have warned in recent weeks that the strain is highly transmissible, can more easily evade the immunity offered by vaccines or prior infections than past variants — and is likely to drive cases up around the country.

Banking, finance, cryptocurrencies, climate, racism, artificial intelligence, workplace robotics, global governance, and cybercrime. Are there any issues the unelected, private club that is the World Economic Forum (WEF) can’t tackle on behalf of the serfs? Clearly not.eye When the preening elites fly in to Davos, Switzerland, a week tomorrow expect to see – and hear – about all those topics and more as the WEF seeks to “address the state of the world and discuss priorities for the year ahead.” Following its foundation in 1971 by German engineer and academic Klaus Schwab, the WEF has met annually to tackle what...

In his sleepy Maine hometown, teen-aged Trevor Bickford was just one of the guys. The Wells High School student won an honorable mention two years ago for his entry in the state’s Scholastic Arts Awards, cited for his submission in the jewelry category. He played on the town football team, winners of the 2018 state title, and spent summers as a groundskeeper at the local golf course in what locals called “The Friendliest Town in Maine.” “He was chill,” recalled an old friend who worked alongside the accused terrorist at the Old Marsh Country Club. “He was always just quiet...

During an interview with CBS’ “The Takeout” podcast recorded on Thursday and released on Friday, former NIAID Director Dr. Anthony Fauci claimed that the term “is such a nebulous, generic term” and “we don’t even use the word gain-of-function.” CBS News Chief Washington Correspondent Major Garrett said, “There are acolytes of Elon Musk who say when you read gain-of-function, you should just translate that to bioweapon.” Fauci responded, “That’s absolutely incorrect. For example — the reason we don’t even use the word gain-of-function. We use the word what kind of guardrails do you need to put on a proposed experiment,...

Aurora Police Department aiming for 30% female force by 2030 by: Evan KruegelPosted: Jan 7, 2023 AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) – Inside the Aurora Public Safety Training Center, a small group gathered Saturday to learn about policing. But this group looked a bit different than the majority of Colorado police officers because all of them were women. The Women’s Informational Academy is just one step toward an ambitious goal for the department, which hopes to have women make up 30% of its police force by 2030. “It’s really empowering,” said Marian Baena, a future recruit for the department. Baena currently works...

This is a prayer request for my spouse. She suffers from chronic pancreatitis for 12 years now. She has had surgery due to pseudocysts and was in a coma for 18 days due to acute pancreatitis in 2011. She has Barrett’s esophagus and IBS. She’s been experiencing several concerning complications and symptoms and tomorrow goes in for a colonoscopy and endoscopy. Please pray for a good outcome as she is at a heightened risk for pancreatic cancer, colon cancer and esophageal cancer. She is scared and has asked for and will be ever grateful for your prayers. We pray for...

Despite liberals’ rhetoric, the one truth about the violence at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, is that the only person killed in the riot was a supporter of former President Donald Trump, Ashli Babbitt. And now, thanks to the conservative group Judicial Watch, we’ve learned that the person who fatally shot Babbitt, Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd, was allowed to hole up for months in a VIP suite at a Washington-area military base at taxpayer expense following Babbitt’s death.

I Truly Miss Our Tobacco Smoking Culture . The paraphernalia. The rituals. The camaraderie. The cigarettes and cigars and pipes. The rituals. The coffee and cigarettes. The pipe and brandy. The smoky jazz clubs. . It was an age. In retrospect it added texture to our lives.

ABSTRACT Theories of scientific and technological change view discovery and invention as endogenous processes1,2, wherein previous accumulated knowledge enables future progress by allowing researchers to, in Newton’s words, ‘stand on the shoulders of giants’3,4,5,6,7. Recent decades have witnessed exponential growth in the volume of new scientific and technological knowledge, thereby creating conditions that should be ripe for major advances8,9. Yet contrary to this view, studies suggest that progress is slowing in several major fields10,11. Here, we analyse these claims at scale across six decades, using data on 45 million papers and 3.9 million patents from six large-scale datasets, together with...

Judicial Watch announced today it received 31 pages of documents from the Department of the Air Force, Joint Base Andrews, MD, that show U.S. Capitol Police Lieutenant Michael Byrd was housed at taxpayer expense at Joint Base Andrews after he shot and killed U.S. Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt inside the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

When they open their 30-day session on January 11, Virginia’s Senate and House of Delegates must correct some serious energy mistakes they made two years ago, when Democrats controlled nearly the entire state government and passed the “Virginia Clean Economy Act.” One of those party-line decisions requires that Virginia adopt California’s requirement that only low-emission vehicles (LEVs) be sold by the model year 2025 and only zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) by MY 2035. That means in barely twelve years only new electric vehicles (EVs) could be sold in Virginia. Again mimicking California, in addition to EVs, the VCEA also requires a...

Social media companies were obliquely warned by Obama to ban Trump or face consequences. Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg effectively woke up with a horse's head in his bed. Has Barack Obama gone from ex-president to Democrat party crime boss? It sure looks like it, based on a new report about his treatment of Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Investigative reporter Lee Smith has got a stunning report that ran this week in Tablet, comparable in impact to that report by Molly Ball at Time who wrote about how elites conspired to "fortify democracy" by rigging the election against President Trump...
