The House on Thursday passed the annual defense authorization bill, sending the mammoth, $847 billion measure to the Senate for consideration ahead of the year-end deadline. The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) passed in a bipartisan 350-80 vote. It was approved under suspension of the rules, an expedited process to pass legislation in the House that requires a two-thirds majority. âI canât go through every single item that is in this bill, but I can tell you that just about every member of this House has something in this bill that is important for policy, important in their district,â House...

Some Sonoma County, California residents are concerned about mountain lions after one lion entered a house, attacked a dog, and dragged the dog by its neck into the backyard, KTLA sister station KRON reports. The attack happened last week when a Bennett Valley resident left her sliding glass door open. The cougar targeted a border collie inside the house and the homeowners heard a commotion. Video sent to KRON shows a snarling mountain lion standing over a motionless dog. âA neighbor came over and fired a shot in the air,â neighbor Ron Crane said. The dog was eventually rescued and...

I haven't invested in crypto currency because I don't understand how it works. Now after reading this I understand. How Crypto Currency works... an analogy in Layman's terms. Not long ago a merchant found a lot of monkeys that lived near a certain Village. One day he came to the Village saying he wanted to buy these monkeys! He announced that he would buy the monkeys at $100 each. The villagers thought that this man must be crazy - How can somebody buy stray monkeys at $100 each? Still some people caught some monkeys and gave it to this merchant...

The ability of tumors to take hold and grow depends, among other things, on the effectiveness of the immune system in fighting them. In previous studies, the team had shown that the activation of the immune system is modulated according to the time of day, indicating a peak of efficiency early in the morning in humans. Now, the research team demonstrates that the rhythmicity of the immune systemâand in particular that of dendritic cells, its key sentinelsâhas a hitherto unsuspected impact on tumor growth, as well as on the effectiveness of immunotherapeutic treatments. These results indicate that simply changing the...

It was announced Thursday morning that Joe Biden had approved a trade with Russia where they get the vicious, evil arms dealer known as "The Merchant of Death" so we get a whiny, entitled, basketball player who brought drugs illegally into Russia. All along, the stories said that we were going to get Griner back in this trade, but we would also get Marine Paul Whelan, who has been in Russian prison since 2018. But, guess what? Yeah, Biden brought back Griner and left Whelan behind. From AP: Biden says US has 'not forgotten about Paul Whelan,' will 'never give...

Dr. Rachel Levine, a man who identifies as a woman, tried to enlist childrenâs doctors and nurses into the transgender activist movement, urging them to become evangelists and preach the gospel of transgenderism. Anything less would be a betrayal of their profession and science itself, he argued. Levine, assistant secretary of health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, claimed that there is a large population of biological males who are really female and vice versa, and these people are likely to commit suicide unless doctors pump them with drugs to delay puberty, introduce a hormone disease into...

NEW YORK, NY â Researchers are reporting that disinformation on Twitter, Facebook, and mainstream news sources is already down by 92% in the wake of a 24-hour writer's strike at the New York Times. "We always wondered where all this harmful disinformation was coming from," said Darryl Ball, a researcher with the Center for Combatting Bad Things Online. "Turns out, it was all coming from those knuckleheads at the Times. Who knew?" Several studies indicate the country has seen a sharp decrease in hate speech, foreign propaganda, and shockingly dumb hot takes since the entire writing staff walked out of...

Thousands of classified documents relating to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy are set to be released next week, despite several government agencies desperately trying to keep them under wraps. More than 15,000 documents concerning the assassination remain locked away at the National Archives 59 years after his death - including dozens which experts believe would be the 'smoking gun' proving direct ties between Lee Harvey Oswald and the CIA. President Joe Biden ordered a review into the documents which will likely see a large batch of files still under lock and key released by December 15, after 1500...

Google has to delete search results about people in Europe if they can prove that the information is clearly wrong, the European Unionâs top court said Thursday. The European Court of Justice ruled that search engines must âdereference informationâ if the person making the request can demonstrate that the material is âmanifestly inaccurate.â People in Europe have the right to ask Google and other search engines to delete links to outdated or embarrassing information about themselves, even if it is true, under a principle known as âright to be forgotten.â [âŚ] The case stems from a complaint filed in Germanyâs...

Najahe Sherman, a reporter with CBS charged that "when it comes to banning books, Florida comes in second only to Texas." Sherman's statement was based on a study issued by the left-wing group PEN America. According to this study, 566 different books have been banned in 21 of the state's school districts. Bryan Griffin, a spokesman for the governor's office rebutted the charge, asserting that "we support parents having a course of action to remove pornographic material from the classroom or school library. A decision to cull a book from a classroom or school library because parents convince public officials...

It appears, however, he might make an exception for Ukrainians. Reuters reports that the administration is holding a virtual meeting Thursday with oil and gas executives to discuss how American oil producers can support Ukrainian energy infrastructure. In a letter to oil executives that Reuters obtained, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy David Turk says Russia was aggressively targeting Ukrainian energy assets, which will hit the country during the coldest months of the year. Turk says that American producers...

It is a âdeeply disturbingâ decision to release Russian arms deal Viktor Bout, Democrat Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) said on Thursday, although he praised the news of former WNBA star Brittney Griner coming back to America as part of the Biden administrationâs controversial prisoner swap. The former WNBA star was arrested in Russia in February and pleaded guilty to drug charges â possession of cannabis vape cartridges â at a Moscow airport. She was ultimately sentenced to nine years in prison for smuggling cannabis into the country. But, she has now been released in turn for a convicted arms dealer,...

The good news for Americans? The global slowdown is helping to lower US Treasury yields which, in turn, helps to help to lower US mortgages rates. Kind of a perverse âgood newsâ story when you think about it. The bigger picture is the slowdown caused by 1) a global economic slowdown and 2) the tightening of Fed monetary policy to fight inflation. Look at the Case-Shiller national home price growth YoY (blue line) against M2 Money growth YoY (green line). Just move the green line to the right and it covers home price growth. Both are slowing down with anticipated...
