French President Emmanuel Macron recently remarked that “the summer, early autumn will be very hard” for French people due to the war in Ukraine, as he believes a total cutoff of Russian gas is likely to occur. Macron is telling French citizens to engage in energy “sobriety” and to prepare for even higher food prices. Macron added, “From now on, I will ask public bodies, and all companies that can, to consume less. We will create a program and try to use lighting less in the evenings. We are launching a load reduction and sobriety program. We have to prepare...

Dan Bongino has a maxim: “Conservatives believe Leftists are basically good people with bad ideas. Leftists believe Conservatives are bad people with ideas.” Looking at the culture war that we’re in the midst of through this lens is helpful to understanding how the Left has achieved its position of tyranny over our society. Their catastrophic decisions, along with our complicity through inaction, or at best ineffective action, are ruining our economy and institutions while undermining our freedoms at a breathtaking speed. In the time it takes for us to finally recognize one of the train wrecks for what it is...

While it’ll be a cold day in a hot place before Biden takes a stand against Chinese depredations in America, Ron DeSantis is pushing back. On Friday, Janet Levy wrote about the fact that the Chinese have purchased land in North Dakota, immediately next to two highly sensitive military bases. The Biden administration is unconcerned, but ordinary Americans think it’s a problem when a geopolitical foe starts buying up land around military bases. Now, Governor Ron DeSantis is talking about ways to push back against the Chinese gobbling up American farmland—that is, our food source. Were we living in normal...

The war in Ukraine called into question many of the fundamental pillars of the international order. The European security system that has developed since the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact has received a shattering blow. A war of aggression by a major power intent to destroy a neighboring state and annex significant territories has broken with major taboos, not to mention international law. Apart from the obvious tragedy for the people of Ukraine, another potential casualty is the nuclear nonproliferation system which has existed since 1970. Putin’s blatant breach of the Budapest Memorandum, signed in 1994...

IPray For The Peace of JerusalemGenesis 44A Silver Cup in a Sack 44 Now Joseph gave these instructions to the steward of his house: “Fill the men’s sacks with as much food as they can carry, and put each man’s silver in the mouth of his sack. 2 Then put my cup, the silver one, in the mouth of the youngest one’s sack, along with the silver for his grain.” And he did as Joseph said. 3 As morning dawned, the men were sent on their way with their donkeys. 4 They had not gone far from the city when...

I hope you all like this one. I thought it was beautiful and true, a new explanation of the source (or perhaps the destination) of desperation. Not political at all, except maybe subliminally.

Academia in this country has entered a dark age, neglecting ts true function: A place for the sifting and winnowing of ideas. If you have been paying any attention at all to academia in this country, you know it has entered a dark age, neglecting what my alma mater once described as its function: A place for the sifting and winnowing of ideas. Today’s academic “marketplace” increasingly sells only one product, drives others from the agora with a variety of bullying actions, and threatens both the sellers and purchasers into silence about alternate products. Here’s an eye-opener to illustrate the...

So what did we learn from the final “cliffhanger” season finale of the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the Capitol? Of course, the cast hopes to be renewed for another season and promised to be “baaack!” in September. Well, first, the Democrats of both parties are interested only in convincing people not to vote for Trump again. They’re not so much interested in improving security at the Capitol or improving communications or lines of cooperation among security agencies involved. Even the handling of the six permits issued by the U.S. Capitol could be improved, but...

Airline executives, under a barrage of criticism from the public, lawmakers and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, have sought to shift blame for flight troubles this summer onto the nation’s air traffic control system. But federal data shows that airlines themselves are the biggest reason for delays in recent months and bear responsibility for an unusually high share of cancellations. The numbers, reported by airlines and released this past week by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, also confirm the experiences of many passengers: 2022 has been a rough year for air travel. Federal transportation officials say 88,161 flights were canceled through...

He’s back — The possessed, murderous doll that terrorized moviegoers in the 1988 hit "Child’s Play," is now roaming the streets of an Alabama neighborhood as photos of a "real-life Chucky" have gone viral. The human Chucky seen in photos standing on the side of the road of a residential neighborhood in Pinson, Alabama, waiting for cars to pass, was actually a 5-year-old boy named Jackson, who brought fear and laughter to people in his community...

Change is coming to the Legislature next January. And it will be substantial in terms of new senators. Whether it is going to be significant in terms of policy decisions or partisan inclinations will remain uncertain until senators begin to tackle legislation and relate to a new governor who will be elected in November. Count 11 current senators who will be term-limited out of office at the end of the year, two who decided not to seek reelection, at least two who have been or will be elected to other offices and one who died during the fading days of...

A Maryland public school district asserts kids have the “right” to keep their in-school gender identities private from parents, according to Montgomery County Public School’s “Guidelines for Student” Gender Identity. The guidelines vow to “respect the right of students to keep their gender identity or transgender status private and confidential,” including parents who do not affirm the child’s perceived gender identity. When building a “Gender Support Plan,” educators are told to work with the student’s family only “if the family is supportive of the student” and their perceived identity, according to the district’s guidance.

(CNN) - Paying for some Bruce Springsteen tickets these days may be “Tougher Than The Rest.” That’s because Ticketmaster’s “dynamic pricing” has some seats reaching $4000 to $5000 a seat. The high prices are not going over well. “I’m sure you won’t see this @springsteen but you or your management need to have a word with the abhorrent criminals running @Ticketmaster who are charging exorbitant amounts to see you in concert,” one person tweeted. “Please listen to your fans, nobody can afford these ridiculous ticket prices.” Writer John Semley tweeted that Springsteen should “write a song about a working man...

Russia said Sunday that its missile barrage on a Ukrainian port key to a freshly-inked grain export deal had targeted military infrastructure at the facility, after the attack sparked an outcry from Ukraine and its allies. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denounced Saturday’s strike on the Odessa port — that came just one day after the warring sides struck a deal to resume exports blocked by the conflict — as “Russian barbarism”. Turkey helped broker the accord and said after the double cruise missile attacks that it had received assurances from Moscow that Russian forces were not responsible. But Russia’s foreign...
