Sacramento's homeless population has spiraled out of control, soaring by 67 percent in just three years - pushing the numbers even higher than nearby San Francisco as photos show tent cities and communities of the unhoused living under bridges. California's capital has just over 5,000 homeless people within the city limits, many living in vehicles and tents, compared to the 4,400 homeless people estimated to live in San Francisco. However, the number becomes more stark when factoring in the city's population numbers - only 525,000 people live in Sacramento versus San Francisco's 874,000.

Then let the girl who pleases the king be queen instead of Vashti.” This advice appealed to the king, and he followed it. Now there was in the citadel of Susa a Jew named Mordecai, who had been carried into exile by Nebuchadnezzar. Mordecai had a cousin whom...

New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottet has called for a reduction in the seven-day isolation period adding that the winter influenza virus currently posed a bigger issue than COVID-19. “In many cases at the moment, the current strand of influenza is more severe than the current strands of COVID,” the premier told 2GB radio. He later added that the state was currently experiencing “one of the worst flu seasons we’ve ever had” and urged people to get a flu shot. Perrottet also advocated for reducing the mandatory isolation period after a person tests positive for COVID-19, noting that health advice...
  • Goin’ Down! US Housing Starts Drop -6.3% YoY In June Thanks To Fed Tightening (1-Unit Starts Dropped -8% MoM, Multifamily Starts Soared 15% MoM)

The US is goin’ down. At least in terms of housing supply. The US is short on supply of housing for a myriad of reasons (high costs, Not-in-my-backyard (NIMBY) local zoning laws, etc), but The Fed’s cranking up interest rates isn’t helping. US housing starts, a measure of supply, declined -6.3% YoY in June as The Fed cranked up rates. 1-unit (aka, single family detached) starts dropped -8.05% MoM in June while 5+ unit (aka, multifamily) starts rose 15% MoM. 1-unit permits dropped -8% MoM in June while 5+ unit starts were up 13% MoM. The reason? REAL weekly earnings...

VIDEOCongresswoman Elissa Slotkin, who loves to brag about being Deep State, has recently been feigning deep deep concern about inflation. How very touching. And yet she voted for the highly inflationary multi-trillion dollar Build Back Broke bill last year. She has been trying to avoid mentioning that very inconvenient fact but a caller put her on the spot about that bill last December during an online townhall session for her district. Oh, and her district is currently the Michigan 8th Congressional District but due to redistricting she is now forced to run in the redder 7th CD this November. That...

The good Samaritan who shot and killed the gunman who opened fire in the Greenwood Park Mall in Indiana on Sunday afternoon reportedly broke the property's policy against weapons. The suspected shooter entered the mall on Sunday carrying a rifle and multiple magazines and opened fire in the food court, killing at least three and injuring three before he was shot to death. Greenwood Police Chief Jim Ison said the suspected shooter was killed by a "good Samaritan with a handgun." The mall is owned by Simon Property Group, and the group's code of conduct, last updated in April of...

An attempted assassination by poisoning has been made on Vladimir Putin's de facto deputy, according to a sensational new claim. Nikolai Patrushev, 71, a former head of the FSB secret service and secretary of the Kremlin's security council, was reportedly rushed to hospital in recent days after falling unwell. General SVR, a dissident Russian Telegram channel which claims to be operated by a former Kremlin official with inside sources, said toxicology test results revealed Patrushev had been afflicted by a 'synthetic poison', but had ultimately survived the attempt on his life. The former FSB head is widely seen as the...

In yet another example of the double-standard of justice from this vengeful regime, Trump supporters are trapped in a legal circle of hell in the nation’s capital. To hear federal prosecutors tell it, Guy Wesley Reffitt almost single-handedly organized and led a bloodthirsty mob to overtake Congress on January 6, 2021. One of the first protesters arrested in the Justice Department’s “shock and awe” dragnet of Donald Trump supporters, Reffitt was immediately indicted on numerous offenses. He spent more than a year in the D.C. gulag set aside for Americans who protested Joe Biden’s election under pretrial detention orders sought...

Twitter attached disclaimers and turned off comments and retweets for a post by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) in which she mocks Adm. Rachel Levine, the transgender Biden administration official. In two tweets, Greene referred to Levine, a transgender woman who was born a man and given the name Richard Levine, as “Dr. Dick Levine,” a practice known as “deadnaming,” or calling a transgender person by their original name to mock and denigrate them. “We must do everything we can to prevent Dr. Dick Levine’s pre-teen #WeenieChop,” Greene tweeted from her official account. Twitter declined to remove the post, citing...

When speaking to a friendly audience—the American Federation of Teachers—Biden couldn’t resist giving the game away. Did you hear the First Lady blow her dog whistle last week? Jill Biden, who insists on being called Doctor Jill Biden, made remarks in Boston before a gathering of America’s second-largest teachers’ union, the American Federation of Teachers. She let slip in her address something many of us have suspected for a long time. In educratspeak, she admitted that public education is really public indoctrination. As she pandered to teachers, Biden said: There is so much weight on all of you—but you carry...

The federal government hauled in a record $3,835,390,000,000 in total taxes in the first nine months of fiscal 2022 (October through June), according to the Monthly Treasury Statement. That was up $502,438,730,000—or 15.07 percent—from the then-record $3,332,951,270,000 (in constant June 2022 dollars) that the federal government collected in taxes in the first nine months of fiscal 2021. […] At the same time that it was collecting this record $3,835,390,000,000 in total taxes, the federal government spent $4,350,457,000,000. Thus, the federal government ran a deficit of $515,067,000,000 in the first nine months of the fiscal year. …

Government is nothing but "professional advocates" fighting over loot and plunder. Let's "fisk" an article by Jonathan Chait in New York magazine on "The Democrats' Failure is Complete." Chait begins with Joe Biden once dreamed of an FDR-size domestic-reform agenda. Really? With a 50-50 Senate and a 13-vote majority in the House? What planet was it again? But the collapse of negotiations in Congress… Oh no! How could that happen? ...losing its chance to address any domestic social need in an enduring way, Really? Do you Democrats really believe, cross your heart and hope to die, that you have ever...

"He looks at me with his innocent and beautiful eyes. He is asking me to take him out for a walk, but I don't dare. We will get arrested." Mahsa, who has a dog, is referring to a new wave of arrests of pet owners and seizures of their animals in the Iranian capital, Tehran. Police there recently announced that walking dogs in parks was a crime. The ban was justified as a measure to "protect the safety of the public". At the same, the Iranian parliament could soon approve the Protection of the Public's Rights Against Animals bill, which...

When Moscow-installed authorities in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Melitopol began distributing Russian passports, mother-of-two Olesya Novitskaya did not hesitate. "I think we will all live in Russia, and I need a Russian passport," the 31-year-old makeup artist said in central Melitopol, holding her youngest son in her arms. She spoke to AFP during a closely supervised press tour organised by the Russian defence ministry. Currently on maternity leave, Novitskaya had come to apply for a Russian passport with her two young sons. We have had a tremendous victory here in New York: a Supreme Court Judge has struck down Governor Kathy Hochul’s forced quarantine regulation! On July 8, 2022, Judge Ronald Ploetz ruled that the “Isolation and Quarantine Procedures” regulation is unconstitutional and “violative of New York State law as promulgated and enacted, and therefore null, void and unenforceable as a matter of law.” Shockingly, New York’s Governor, Kathy Hochul, and Attorney General, Letitia James, plan to appeal the decision. Yes, that’s right…the Governor and AG, both unabashedly support quarantine camps! One would think that this fact, in and of itself, would...
