Sacramento's homeless population has spiraled out of control, soaring by 67 percent in just three years - pushing the numbers even higher than nearby San Francisco as photos show tent cities and communities of the unhoused living under bridges.

California's capital has just over 5,000 homeless people within the city limits, many living in vehicles and tents, compared to the 4,400 homeless people estimated to live in San Francisco.

However, the number becomes more stark when factoring in the city's population numbers - only 525,000 people live in Sacramento versus San Francisco's 874,000.

Only trip I ever took to cali was to Sacramento Roseville area in the 80s.

Beautiful country back then. Glad I saw it when I did.

I’m looking for an article from yesterday. It said we’re ripe for one of those let them eat cake revolts. Too much going on where the have nots are too visible. The article says Trump could promise to end it and the past ‘eat the rich’ solutions didn’t work.

"... robbery rockets 42% and rapes nearly double amid drug taking epidemic"

And that's not even counting the crimes by the Commiepornia governor and state legislators.

I grew up in "Sacamenna." It used to be described as a "Sleepy Little River City."

Barely recognize it when I visit now and again.

“homelessness” was a rallying cry for the left against Reagan in the 80s. Also “we’re running out of landfill space.” and “OMG AIDs! WE need billions in funding ... and it’s not just gays that can get it you bigot! Anybody can get it! even though it’s mostly gays that get it.”

The cops know who is supplying the massive amounts of drugs these homeless encampments consume. One thing about addicts is they make for great informants. If you shut down the drug supply the encampments will move. Why is that not done? I suspect many of the officials are on the payrolls of the drug cartels.

I go to Sacramento on business a few times a year, way more homeless than 5,500. The trash, encampments, really taking it’s toll on this once beautiful city.

And yet, they see no correlation.

The homeless have more rights than you do.

On my NextDoor app a blind couple were complaining that a homeless person had set up a tent across the sidewalk where they walk to get home from the bus.

The homeless guy is either mentally ill or drug-addled and refuses to move forcing the blind couple to have to walk in the street.

They said they’ve called the police repeatedly - and are told there is nothing they can to. They’ve called their local area rep many times...crickets. They were at their wit’s end and needed the bus to get around.

This is in Los Angeles.

I’m sure they were warned by people who the media then labeled as racist or just plain nuts.

The really sad part is that the voters never learn.

You are pretty close. The elites (in their own eyes), namely Democraps and GOPe, want two classes in this country: themselves with all the money and power vs everyone else with none. They HATE the middle and lower upper classes esp. “new money.”

What does he care?

He just won a recall election in a landslide - shows the voters of California are either profoundly stupid or there was mass voter fraud, probably both.

Newsom is too busy running ads in Florida and eating unmasked at the fancy $200/per person French Laundry in Napa (during a time he told citizens of California to wear a mask between bites when eating a meal with family).
