Police there recently announced that walking dogs in parks was a crime. The ban was justified as a measure to "protect the safety of the public".
At the same, the Iranian parliament could soon approve the Protection of the Public's Rights Against Animals bill, which would restrict pet ownership across the board.

This is a special level of crazy, but I could have believed it just as well happening in any Dem state in the U.S.
Mohamed was a raider and a murderer. Dogs would tip off their owners that raiders were approaching. Mohamed hated these dogs. So now, Islam considers dogs unclean. Because he did.

There was a post last week on my local Facebook page by a twenty something young woman asking for recommendations for a dog trainer that did not use corrective/negative reinforcement. No pinch collars, etc.

Yeah, it’s crazy. I’ve seen a lot of young women throw their lives away on their pets. Spending all their free time doing stuff for them and spoiling them like children. I’m pretty cynical but in my mind this is part of the plan to destroy families, and to get young people off track so they don’t start families of their own. Pets have their place. But they should not be treated like humans or used to replace a potential family.
Don’t worry about this happening in the US, where the dog worship is off the charts. Every public space has become a dog park - including restaurants, grocery stores, hotels - with all the related noise, urine, and feces.
Dogs can also sense evil people and demons, so it’s only natural they’re despised by them.
what if all you ever had was miscarriages and you want something to fill that void?

Then i have no problem with it!
But many use pets as a way to avoid adulthood and responsibility and the media encourages it.
Over in Saudi, our compound adopted a couple of the wild dogs and it didn’t take them long to earn their keep by warning us when any Arabs were too close. They didn’t like them either.
Don’t forget the dangerous pits that are akin to waving around a loaded gun around children.

The animals are considered impure in Islamic tradition. In the eyes of the new regime dogs also became a symbol of the "Westernisation" that it sought to curb.
The only difference between these lines of thinking is what's in the crosshairs. Philosophically, they're the same - the state knows what's best.
Pets are (special) property. There are existing laws governing the proper maintenance and care of said property. If a dog bites someone, the law kicks in.
Arguing for the regulation of WHO can own pets is like gun controllers who think the unwashed masses aren't "trained." Thankfully, in America we still value property rights and the individual enough where we don't want the state deciding WHO can have a pet.
I fear statists and leftists more than pit bull owners or crazy cat ladies. What next? A Ministry of Pet Owner Adjudication?
Islam has a whole section of their Hadiths (sayings of Mohammed) that dogs are bgg to be killed (except for watchdogs and herding dogs)

Does this mean that in Iran, Goats are no longer considered pets? They pet (and express affection for ...) goats more than they pet dogs.

We consider our cats our grandchildren, as a sort of joke, because we will probably never have real grandchildren. Both of our daughters have no plans on having any.
And we DO spoil them. They are strictly indoor cats.
