More vandalism of Catholic churches, pro-life pregnancy centers, and a pro-life memorial have been reported since Roe v. Wade was overturned on Friday. LifeChoice pregnancy center in Winter Haven, Florida was defaced with pro-abortion graffiti June 25. Director of Development for LifeChoices Lyndsy Flanagan told CNA Tuesday that the clinic was alerted by a local pastor who saw the damage on Sunday morning. A local church community, Winter Haven Worship Center, volunteered to repaint the whole building on Monday, Flanagan said. The vandals also painted over security cameras and the clinic’s sign, she said. A pressure washer could not clean...

Just over four months ago, the U.S. and several allied nations levied unprecedented sanctions against Russia in response to its invasion of Ukraine. For weeks afterwards, the Russian ruble's value tanked, foreign multinational companies pulled out of the country, and economic prospects began looking grim. But Russia responded aggressively. It shored up the ruble's value and increased oil exports to China and India. The ruble is now the world's strongest performing currency. Thanks to years of preparations, Russia has become far more self-sufficient, and has massive foreign exchange reserves. It has also reopened several companies that were previously under foreign...

Clinton joins a growing list of prominent Democrats attacking Thomas.NEW YORK CITY (LifeSiteNews) – Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called Justice Clarence Thomas a “person of grievance” as the justice continues to support Christian values in America. On June 28, Clinton spoke with CBS Morning Show host Gayle King, raging against the pro-life Supreme Court Justice and the overturning of Roe v. Wade. “I went to law school with him,” Clinton said. “He’s been a person of grievance for as long as I have known him — resentment, grievance, anger.” “There are so many things about it that...

NEW YORK – In a June 23 letter to Congress four U.S. bishop conference chairmen commended the Senate for passing the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act regarding gun violence and urged them to continue to work together to “confront a culture of violence.” It’s the second letter U.S. bishops have sent to Congress on the topic in 20 days, after mass shootings in Buffalo, New York; Uvalde, Texas; and Tulsa, Oklahoma resulted in 36 deaths, and renewed a national conversation on U.S. gun laws and culture. Concerning the bipartisan legislation, the letter identified several key provisions that “particularly heartened” the bishops....

“Peace Be to This House!” (Luke 10:1-20) “Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” Yes, peace to you! Peace be to this house! That’s what Jesus told me to tell you, isn’t it? He sends out his laborers into the harvest field and instructs them, “Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house.’” So today, the first thing I want to say to you is what Jesus told me to tell you: Peace be to this house. Friends, today I want to tell you why you need this peace and...

I’ve always struggled to combine the idea of personal responsibility with the overwhelming need for human society to address the threat posed by climate change. Since at least the 1970s, the massive energy corporations responsible for the vast majority of our carbon emissions have known about, and done nothing to mitigate, the harm they cause. Because they own politicians worldwide, there doesn’t appear to be any will to take government-level action. But I’m supposed to turn off a light? What possible impact could that ever have? And why is all this on my shoulders and not theirs? When I got...

Democratic Illinois Rep. Bobby Rush has mostly voted by proxy over the last two years but spent thousands in travel and event expenses on the dime of taxpayers and donors, federal records reviewed by The Daily Caller News Foundation show. The House authorized an emergency health policy in May 2020, letting members vote remotely — called “proxy” voting — as “a necessary and immediately feasible low-tech option” for those who cannot be physically present in the chamber. “As in this case, when we see members regularly voting by proxy but also attending public campaign events at the same time, it...

Among other things, lawful concealed carry of guns would be banned almost everywhere by designating much of society a “sensitive” location. State governors like Kathy Hochul in New York are banking on the limited SCOTUS docket to evade the ruling, even if they ultimately lose. When the Supreme Court Struck Down The Restrictive New York Gun Licensing Law, it was an important reiteration of 2nd Amendment protections. But the battles will continue at the state level and the lower federal courts, because the opponents of the 2nd Amendment are hard at work, including in Rhode Island, to deprive citizens of...

The FBI is launching an investigation with Nashville police after a pregnancy center was targeted with a Molotov cocktail-type device and "Jane’s Revenge" graffiti in an incident the state’s governor is calling an act of "terrorism." The Hope Clinic for Women, which the Metro Nashville Police Department describes as a "pro-life resource center," was hit early Thursday in the "first act of vandalism in Nashville seen as related to the recent U.S. Supreme Court abortion decision," investigators say. "Midtown Hills Precinct officers responded to a burglar alarm at the facility at 1:38 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered that a front...

President Biden and White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre took no questions from reporters Friday after 71 journalists signed an unprecedented letter calling for an end to the mysterious prescreening of media members let into Biden events. Jean-Pierre did not hold a briefing and had left the West Wing by early afternoon for a personal obligation.
