Deundrea Holloway, 22, was accused of beheading Dodd and discarding her head in a dumpster. Dodd — who was due in mid or late July — had been in an on-and-off relationship with Holloway for the past two years, according to KMOV. “She was savagely killed. She was decapitated,” Alton Police Chief Marcos Pulido said. Holloway was arrested in Gillespie,...

urkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday warned Greece to demilitarize islands in the Aegean Sea, saying he was “not joking” and posting tweets in Greek and English, in a marked harshening of rhetoric against Turkey’s neighbor and historic regional rival. Turkey says Greece has been building a military presence in violation of treaties that guarantee the unarmed status of the Aegean islands. It argues the islands were ceded to Greece on the condition they remained demilitarized. Athens counters that the islands, which have been garrisoned for decades and lie within close striking distance of a large Turkish landing fleet,...

On Tuesday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) announced his support for a bipartisan gun control plan largely negotiated by Senators John Cornyn (R-Tex.) and Chris Murphy (D-Conn.). “If the legislation ends up reflecting what the [gun control] framework indicates, I’ll be supportive,” McConnell said. “It’s a step forward on a bipartisan basis and further demonstrates to the American people that we can come together, which we have done from time to time on things like infrastructure and postal reform, to make progress for the country.” Although not written yet as legislation, the framework of the gun control bill includes...

The chair of the House committee investigating the Capitol riot said Monday night that the panel will not make any criminal referrals, even though its leaders have previously hinted at the possibility of doing so. "Our job is to look at the facts and circumstances around January 6 — what caused it — and make recommendations after that," Chair Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., told reporters as he left the House chamber after the second day of public hearings by the panel. When pressed on the matter and whether the committee had ruled out the possibility of referring criminal charges, particularly for...

Pennsylvania Republican gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano took some punches from his GOP rivals in this spring’s primary election campaign, but nothing like this. In a new political attack ad launched by the never-Trumpers who lead The Lincoln Project, Mastriano is tagged as a traitor for his post-2020 track record as a Donald Trump election defeat denier. The Lincoln Project is a superPAC organized by Republican political operatives who have grown disaffected with former president Donald J. Trump and his hold on the party, and who now say that they are resolved to fight Trump-like candidates whom they deem to be...

President Biden told union workers at the AFL-CIO convention in Philadelphia, that Republicans want to get rid of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid based on a proposal by National Republican Senatorial Conference Chairman Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), which calls for all federal legislation to sunset in five years. “All federal legislation sunsets in 5 years. If a law is worth keeping, Congress can pass it again,” Scott’s proposal states. […] Biden attributed Scott’s proposal to the Republican Party despite Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-S.C.) saying months ago that such a proposal will not be part of the Republican agenda....

19 school children were killed in the Uvalde, TX mass shooting on May 24th. In the weeks since, parents are thinking about different options than just the brick and mortar school buildings, terrified about their children's safety and the thought of them dying inside of a classroom. "We want to protect our kids and no parent wants to see their children hurt," said Courtney Nalan, an Evansville mom who homeschools. "We've had a big increase in the number of people asking about home schooling," said Theresa Slinkard, another Evansville mom who home schools. 169 students and adults have died in...

Russian forces have advanced in eastern Ukraine over recent weeks behind overwhelming artillery barrages, a shift in fortunes made possible by better access to rail lines delivering tons of ammunition and other supplies. Trains are the Russian military’s go-to method for moving troops and heavy weapons. In Ukraine’s industrialized Donbas region, dense rail networks have played to Moscow’s advantage. Russia’s military depends so heavily on trains that it maintains an elite Railroad Force, a service branch once common in countries through World War II. The unit has camouflage-painted armored train cars equipped with antiaircraft cannons and artillery to guard supply...

The Department of Homeland Security is preparing to discipline "multiple" horseback Border Patrol agents involved in the infamous "whipping" incident of Haitian migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border back in September. A federal source told Fox News an announcement on the matter is expected within the coming days. The source said that DHS will be putting forth proposals to discipline the agents who will have a chance to respond to the charges. The charges, Fox News is told, are "administrative violations," and do not amount to criminal conduct – of which the agents were previously cleared. Images emerged in September of...
