Two El Monte Police Department officers and a suspect were fatally wounded in a shooting Tuesday.
The shooting occurred about 5:10 p.m. in the area of Garvey Avenue and Central Avenue, near the San Bernardino (10) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which was assisting El Monte police with the investigation.

I used to think police were ridiculous to be so conservative in assuming every contact was potentially deadly. I thought they were over doing it. Not anymore. Every contact today IS potentially deadly. I don’t blame them for being slow & cautious anymore.

Agree, which means the forces will deteriorate in the quality of recruits and thus the outcomes get worse as far as competent policing.
